outstanding care 2/17/2009

My cat received outstanding care during her stay for surgery on 1/16/09. Her positive reaction to the doctors and vet techs convinced me to make her a permanent patient. Her behavior at home after having been through tests, surgery and her first night away from home since living with me is a testament to the calm and caring treatment she received. Kathy B. A first-rate facility and a very caring staff 2/14/2009

If a family member was seriously ill, would you choose to take them to a local family doctor or to a state-of-the-art facility with a full staff of professionals? That's what makes this place so special. \r \r There is NEVER a doubt that my pets are receiving the finest care when I walk them through the door. From the people at front desk to the girls in the grooming salon, everyone goes about their job in a highly professional manner. \r \r Unlike some places, they also have a large, comfortable waiting area. Prices are what you would expect for the level of service. If you are happy with your current vet, great. But in an emergency, this is the only place to go. more

Newton Veterinary Hospital- Best Medical Care 24/7 1/26/2009

Animal hospitals that are open 24/7 will always need to charge a premium fee for being available when all other clinics are closed. In order to have a full staff available for your pet on Christmas morning, Saturday night at 11, or at 3 in the morning requires paying employees a premium salary. Emergency hospitals may only see a few pets during these times yet must employ highly trained staff to handle severe emergencies. The cost is well worth it if it is your pet that is being saved. Emergency hospitals also must have specialized equipment, drugs, and Newton Veterinary Hospital has a blood bank on premises. The cost of care is also more if it is given 24 hours a day as compared to 8 hours a day at regular veterinarians. If a pet requires an injection every 8 hours it will get the medication 3 times a day at Newton Vet while it would only get the injection once a day at a regular veterinarian. If the cost of the injection is the same at both hospitals, the bill will still be 3 more

highly trained staff. great care for your pet. 24 hour emergency care. top notch facility. friendly, no complaints. the only animal hospital I will take my pets to. more

Pricey, Nice Facility, Good Staff 1/4/2009

I've had to take animals here a few times, and while it's pricey, I had expected the "after hours" and "weekend" charges as I'm familiar with that from other 24/7 vet offices as well. Amazing facility, very accommodating - when my cat was terminally ill, they let me visit whatever the time of day or night, and were incredibly polite despite my repeated phone calls. All but one vet was very nice and helpful and the reception staff was also always pleasant. Always willing to answer a slew of questions over the phone as well, when my regular vet isn't available. Great technology and impressive facility. I've been there multiple times for emergencies with multiple pets, and my regular vet started here before she opened her own practice. Not the place to go if you need a specialist, or as a regular vet, but a good practice for an emergency - just be aware of the prices in advance! more

RIP OFF!!! 12/27/2008

They say they are open 24/7, however, if you come on a weekend you will be charged an extra $52 in addition to the office visit (not mentioned on their website or even when you cal to make appt) on top of the office visit. I made the mistake of assuming if you are open 24/7 you would be charged the same amount. WRONG. They charged me $300 for nothing. I will NEVER EVER go there again. AND I will tell everyone I know that the office looks pretty but the staff/docs are not qualified. POOR Doctors, POOR staff. You have no heart. All associated with this office should be ashamed. more

Big bucks at the vet$$$$$ 5/1/2007

I have had several experiences at this hosp. and the staff was pleasant.\r However they are definately out for the big bucks and I find it appauling\r that they overcharge the way they do and then your pet dies after they talk you into thinking it could survive a horrible trauma. I haven't been back there since. And I won't go back or recomend them to anyone. more
