Newport Dental Ctr

I usually don't write reviews unless I really dislike the service I received from an establishment. Newport Dental is by far the epitome of poor service. The reason why I went to Newport is because of the vicinity (Claremont) and its many chain locations. In my first visit, I waited for an hour and a half to see a dentist. After confirmation of several cavities, the front desk personnel coerced me in trying to pay for all the services that I don't need aside from the cavities that I have. Second visit isn't any better as I wanted for over an hour for the dental work. Third visit, I waited an hour to have my teeth clean. I suspect they over booked appointments to see more patients. Being frustrated, I use the 1-800-Dental website and read reviews by such website as Yelp and City Search to find a better dentist. The difference is night and day on every level from cost to service and much more. I would have given Newport Dental a zero star if I could. My daughter was in for orthodontics, and there were too many people for one day (Saturday). She has to wait for 1 hour and 15 minutes for consultation only, and then it took only 10 minutes for the Dr. to make the determination. They requested for us to wait in the waiting room again. Next thing I know it?s another hour passed, and the office manager was too busy doing nothing. She apologized for the office being so crazy that day. I didn?t buy it. The front desk people were too busy going in and out to either texting or going to next door for Subway. All I know is that each family that come for that day have to wait min. 45 to an hour wait regardless their appointment . When she got to the price for the braces, right away she gives a special deal. Originally $3500, and today we can give you $1750 with $340 down, and we can go with their finance without any interest. When I asked her about the insurance, her response was it will take PACIFCARE 4 weeks to authorize such request. Is she that stupid! I called the insurance company and ask for the procedure, she laughed and told me that she probably doesn?t want to send the paperwork and request for you to accept their finance? All these people want is your money, and they will do what ever it takes to get as much out of you as possible. They take advantage of patients' lack of knowlege about dental work. When we questioned them about the any charges, they were rude and condescending. I do not recommend going to this dental group. Find another dentist please! They are incredibly unprofessional. They take you from one office to the next trying to get you additional work done. They were practically forcing me to get braces...even though I told them repeatedly that I didn't want to get them for another year or so. I felt like regardless of me saying no, they just didn't get. PLUS my I had a regular teeth cleaning (which was overpriced even with my insurance), and believe me I'VE HAD BETTER. I went in for just a cleaning, that was all I needed. I was talked into the removeal of some dental work that I was told could be a problem to the rest of my teeth and could cause health problems. I agreed to their dental plan, as it was suspose to be cheaper, not. One year and a half the caps that were put in started to fall out. Within three months all of the work that was done had fallen out. Leary to go to them and not being of the money to go to another dentist I withheld going to them to have even them look at my mouth. I just called, feeling that I would get barked at, and I was, and I do have an appointment on Monday. I will go and see just what they have to say and if I get anymore greif over this I will report them to the number on the back of my dental card. They are already in agreement with the poor care received at Newport and are ready to assist me in getting my teeth taken care of at another dentist. This is Newport in Fullerton on Orangethorpe. This office is very unprofessional and they want too much out of your pocket and they do very poor work. I dont recomment Newport Dental in Clairmount, CA Cons: they charge too much and they are very unproffessional. more

I was in A LOT of PAIN for two hours (cold sweat, shaking, crying from pain, and screaming). They tried to work on me when I had an infection in my tooth (which means you can not be numbed and can feel everything). They could not tell if I had a cavity from the x-ray so they hit my teeth and asked which one hurt more. I am in more pain now then before I went in and I can only eat mushy things. They ask if you want to start a payment plan when you first come in because you will need to with the amount they are going to charge you. After they got through with my insurance I still owed more then if I had gone some where else without insurance (I have an HMO). Please DON'T go there.
