If you're looking for great Middle Eastern food, look no further! This place is the diamond in the rough of Raleigh. It's reasonably priced for the college kids but it's still authentic, fresh, delicious, and the servers are great. Haven't seen him in a while, but that server Devin was such a little angel! He was beyond helpful. more

Food May Be Good, But Misleading Pricing 2/16/2012

Looked online and ordered 6 box lunches for a group. Price was listed as $7.99. When I called, they gave me a price total that was too high. When I inquired, they said the box lunches had been $8.99 for quite some time. They would not honor the price on their website. When I went to look it up online 10 minutes after the phone call, but before I picked up the order, they had changed the price to $9.99! This reflected a 25% increase in that ten minute span. more

Awesome food 12/2/2011

One of the very few place where you get really delicious food for a decently cheap price. I go there atleast once a week. The food is more than worth for the price I pay. I can't give any less than a 5 star rating to this place. more

Filthy 1/17/2011

Once we paid our food we looked for a table to sit down. Each table was littered with food - under the tables was clumps of old food. The floor was sticky as I walked on it. I asked to speak with the manager twice (once at the cash register and once in the dining area) and she slowly sauntered over. I explained to her the dining area was filthy - she fully agreed! (of course) 2 people did come out to wipe the tables off, but no one cleaned the clumps of food on the floor or the sticky residue. The manager returned with coupons for $3 off. What a ridiculous proposal! $3 off! more

Middle Eastern home cooking 5/12/2008

Fresh, tasty, and very easy to eat a healthy meal quickly so it's a great alternative to fast food if you're near one of the Neomonde locations. The hummus, baba ganoujh, and stuffed grape leaves are some of my favorites. The tabouli is excellent but I just happen to prefer mine with a little fresh mint, their's is all (fresh!) parsley. They also bake the only fresh pita in the triangle and sell it at a very reasonable price. The only thing I do not recommend at all is the kibbeh, it's been very dry the couple of times I've gotten it. Pros: Food, fresh baked breads Cons: dry kibbeh more

Great Middle Eastern Food! 2/9/2008

This place is one of my staples. The food is delicious and their desserts are wonderful. It is more like a cafeteria-style restaurant where you walk up to the counter, order your food, pay for it, and bring it to the table yourself so if you are looking for a romantic spot or want to be waited on this is not the place. But otherwise this is definitely the place to go. I can't say much about the service though. They try to get you in and out quickly and some of the servers behind the counter are nicer than others. However, considering that you only have to deal with them for literally 1-3 minutes and the food is so good, it isn't an issue. hmm...maybe this is Raleigh's ""Soup Nazzi"" equivalent! I go here regularly and at prime eating times it is hard to find an open seat. I always see families there. Good vegetarian options. They have sampler plates and the prices are reasonable. I have really liked everything I tried so far but their shawarma, so I wouldn't recommend that particular dish. I am not sure what the other reviewer was talking about when they said this place is expensive. If you order their most expensive meals- a sampler of 4 dishes it is $8 or $9. If you go for a falafel ($4) or a wrap it is less than $5. I don't consider being able to eat an entire meal for $10 or less expensive. Pros: Delicious Food at Good Prices Cons: Cafeteria Style Eating more

A hidden jem! 1/19/2008

You won't find better Mediterranean cuisine in Raleigh. It can be a little confusing when you walk in, but you usually just follow the big line in front of you. The hummus and baba ghanooj are amazing. Lots of choices, and its all a great value. Try try try! Pros: Food, pita, perfect for lunch Cons: hard to find, confusing at first more

Confusing 10/2/2007

The people were really nice, but not very helpful in explaining what to do for a first-timer. Both my roommate and I got sick from the food we ate, which we think was due to the spinach pies. (We also expected the spinach pies to be more like spanakopita, but it was more like a piece of flat bread with spinach and feta on top. Not as good as I expected.) However, they had a lot of options and different types of food. I will definitely give it another shot. more

nice middle eastern flavor 9/23/2006

This place was stuck in quite the unassuming place, across the railroad behind Waffle House on Beryl. Nice outside dining area, and a good looking, though basic, interior with an ordering, dining, and grocery area. The food came quickly. I ordered a lamb shawarma, which was pretty good, though I've had better in the area. For the price, it could have been a little larger. The pistacio baklava was excellent. Not really a bad value though it seems pricey, and pretty good overall. Pros: good mediterranean foor Cons: location, just a little pricey more

Best Middle Eastern deli around! 8/9/2006

I remember this place before they made all of the upgrades a few years ago. It was a wonderful place to get a good, healthy meal on a grad school budget. Although the portions got a little smaller after the renovation, the quality of food didn't suffer at all -- everything is great! The service is equally excellent. Even at $3 a gallon for petrol, I'm willing to make the 25 minute trek from N. Raleigh to eat here. Pros: Food, service Cons: Location (if you live in N. Raleigh) more

Excellent pita bread, hummus, kibbeh, baklava, grape leaves and middle-eastern market 7/22/2006

Having a party ? Stop by this place an pick up pita and hummus and baba ganoush(sp?). Also some grape leaves and baklava. Or fix a plate for middle eastern food for your dinner. Be ready to pay for it, however ... as it's quite expensive ... but worth it. If you two of you each order a dinner plate expect to pay $20. There are a couple of tables for you to sit down and eat. However, we always take it out. Pros: pita bread, hummus, baba ganoush Cons: Kinda pricey more

I love this place 2/10/2006

That pretty much sums it up. They are always super nice. The food is great. The market has tons of cool stuff that you can't find anywhere else... more

Great food for a health conscious person 1/12/2006

While not vegan, the food is more vegatable -oriented than most. The postions are reasonable and you get 3 -4 items on a single plate so for not much money you get a lovely plate of delicious food. Pros: variety, healthful, delicious Cons: too open more

A great find 12/16/2005

I had always thought of this place as just a deli so I never thought twice about going there for lunch. I was told though that they served Shawerma, which I've been craving since leaving the Bay Area. Excellent Lentil Rice, tasty Shawerma's, decadent desserts, tasty salads (Tabouli). I'm a regular at both the one in Morrisville and in Raleigh. Pros: Serving size, Parking more

MUMTAZ! 11/8/2004

After spending two months in Jordan and returning to college in NYC, I was horribly disappointed by the lack of good middle eastern food in the New York area. Then, after coming home to Raleigh, I was astonished to find the best arabic food i'd had since Jordan!!!! NC should be proud to have such an amazing example of great middle eastern food, and i only wish they would open up a second location in new york! :-) Pros: MJEDDARA!!!, labna, hummus Cons: , me anymore! more
