Love the food! The best food I've had in a long time. The service was a little slow. But I didn't mind.

I totally agree with every reviews on here that talk about the terrible service and rude awful manager. I've eaten at nakama a few times. It's either hit or miss. My time there is...

The only thing better than the sushi is the atmosphere. 9/24/2006

I only wish that I got down the the south side more often to eat at Nakama. Not only is the sushi among the best around (and their original creations are to die for!), but it's such an affordable meal. It can get a little crowded sometimes, but the atmosphere is always happy and welcoming. Pros: Sushi, atmosphere, service Cons: Parking can get a little tight. more

Fun for the CLASSY professionals! 9/24/2006

Nakama is extremely sophisticated, well structured and complete with creative decor. This japanese sushi bar is something to visit when in Pittsburgh. I've made it a ritual after work Friday happy hour bar, and you should too! Pros: Reservations are highly regarded. Cons: If you make reservations and everyone is not present at once, you will not be seated. more

Best Dining in Pittsburgh 9/24/2006

I have always enjoyed hibatchi dining and then I went to Nakama and realize all that I had been missing. Wow! What a fantastic time. The atmosphere is artistic, the service is great, the chefs are adept and food is delectable. I first went with a friend and a bunch of people I had not met before. It was a great setting to talk and get to know each other. Since then I have been there for lunch and dinner for dates, lunch with my mom, and special occasions. One thing is always true, a great time is had by all. I highly recommend this restaurant for any and all outtings and don't forget to join and become a VIP member for the star treatment by management and great discounts sent to you regularly! Best Japanese in the city 9/24/2006

I try to go to Nakama as often as I can, at least 2 or 3 times a month. Excellent sushi (probably the best in town), excellent menu and wait staff, and a great atmosphere for a few cocktails!! more

since the first time i went to Nakama after its opening, and every time since, i've thought it was great. the service has been very good each time and everything i've eaten there has been delicious - and all my friends agree! (we especially love the Hawaiian Roll..) more

Nakama is the place to be... Cool decor, tasty drinks and a long list of appetizers if you just want to hang at the bar. Delcious dinners in the diningroom. One of the best places to go in Pittsburgh for sure. Pros: Decor, Valet Parking, Long list of appetizers more

Best Sushi and Atmosphere 9/24/2006

I am orginally from California and it has taken me months to find a sushi place that is hip and actually has good food. I crave their Hawaiian rolls weekly. The bar has a good crowd and gets pretty busy but the service has always been great. more

With three children under the age of 5, we don't get out very often, but the few times we've been to Nakama have been sensational. The food was great, moderately priced, and the service was excellent. I noticed it was family friendly the last time we were there, so we are sure to bring our children there in the future! The filet melts in your mouth... 9/24/2006

I love this place!!! My boyfriend loves the sushi and I love the filet and I mean it when I say it melts in your mouth! I never liked fried rice until I started to frequent this establishment, the food is just amazing! I've brought my parents as well as my boyfriend's parents from out of town to experience it first hand and everyone has thoroughly enjoyed it! Pros: The food is amazing and the atmosphere allows for an open table conversation! Cons: Great date place once you know each other a little, but not good for one on one conversation. more

Nakama Japaneses Steakhouse 9/24/2006

I thought this dinner experience was exquisite. The food was delicious... cooked to perfection by an entertaining chef. The shrimp and the steak I had were seasoned just right. I thought with the unique atmoshphere and the great food it proved to be an enjoyable evening for our entire dinner party. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Once you try it I'm sure you will tell your friends and go back again. Pros: Food delicious, entertaining, something different more

Must Try Sushi 9/24/2006

I was never a big fan of sushi--I just didnt realize what all the fuss was about until I tried Nakama's. They have a very extensive sushi menu-from the old faves like the Boston Roll to platters like the Nakama Boat, their sushi is always fresh and delicious. I can't wait to go back!! more

I have eaten here multiple times. Everytime is excellent. From just having a couple of cocktails to having the whole hibachi experience. I have yet to eat my whole dinner. The food is plentiful and the service is excellent. Pros: Excellent food more

Unique Experience With Great Food! 9/24/2006

For the past two years I've been treated to Nakama as a b-day surprise. We normally have a group of 20 people and Nakama is a great place for larger groups. I'm not much of a sushi eater, but the rest of their menu is superb. I ALWAYS get an order of the fried rice to go although I leave with left overs and a full stomach! I highly recommend Nakama for everyday eating or for special occasions! more

Great appetizers! 9/24/2006

I had my 33rd birthday party lunch at Nakama and the food was great. The chef did a great job. We had a large party and we were able to sit at 1 table and everyone's food was served hot and we all ate at the same time. I normally do not order suishi but the seared Ahi Tuna was out of this world. I will return again. more

My wife and I have enjoyed many dining experiences at Nakama. The menu is varied enough to cover the tastes of my entiree family while the Sushi, being the best I have had, has made converts out of both my wife and daughter. The service and staff are always timely and pleasant. more

The food was great, the prices reasonable and it has a great view of east carson street. Make sure you stop for a drink, because they have a tasty selection. The sushi is just excellent and the atmosphere friendly and fun. I highly recommend it! more

I never really enjoyed sushi until a friend took me to Nakama for dinner....it was better than i had expected and the service was terrific too!...Its fun to sit at the bar and have a few drinks with the super variety of sushi...its a great weekly stop! Pros: Great sushi Cons: Always Crowded more
