Best

Love the food! The best food I've had in a long time. The service was a little slow. But I didn't mind.

Worst

I totally agree with every reviews on here that talk about the terrible service and rude awful manager. I've eaten at nakama a few times. It's either hit or miss. My time there is...

Beni-what??? NAKAMA HAS NO COMPETITON! 9/24/2006

I've tried all of the hibachi's out there. No one comes close to Nakama. From the trendy atmosphere, to the top notch chef's, this restaurant has it all.\r \r My only complaint is they give you too much food for dinner. Lunch is severely less expensive and still more than you can eat. \r \r I try to make it there once a week, and will continue to do so as long as I can afford $8 for the best lunch in Pittsburgh. Pros: THE BEST ALL AROUND MEAL IN PITTSBURGH Cons: The food is addictive. more

Best Japanese in Pittsburgh! 9/24/2006

Nakama's hibachi shrimp, steak, and chicken are hands-down the most delicious in all of Pittsburgh....make sure to make reservations, though...the place fills up fast, and for good reason!!\r \r Pros: Delicious food and relaxing atmosphere...chefs are very entertaining Cons: Parking (though valet is available) more

Ideal place for sushi cravings! 9/24/2006

Nakama was one of the first places where I tried sushi, and I have been a loyal customer ever since. Their products are delicious and their sushi chefs are always up for conversation. Pros: Love the sushi bar Cons: You smell like the habachi grill afterwards more

Classy Restaurant! 9/24/2006

Nakama is one of the classiest and unique restaurants in Pittsburgh. The atmosphere is great and anytime I have been in there, it is packed! I have been to Nakama for both dinner and drinks. I thought dinner was delicious and have been trying to make it back with a group of people for another fun night! Pros: Ambience more

The most authentic Japanese restaurant in the Burgh!!! 9/24/2006

Some of the best food on Carson street!!! Great food at a prime place to meet with others for the night. Pros: Location and food selection. Cons: Could be a little cheaper, but great food and location come with a little higher price. more

Nakama best in the Burgh! 9/24/2006

I have been to quite a few Japanese steak houses. This is by far the best. Sushi bar is tops. I believe the lunch is a steal. Good people and great food. All I have taken there end up going back. The crowd is of all ages. My favorite. more

best sushi in pittsburgh 9/24/2006

the sushi bar has the freshest fish in town, served beautiful by your sushi chef. sushi appears like a piece of art, and melts in your mouth. nothing better! Pros: best sushi in town more

Awesome food 9/24/2006

This is a total dining experience with great atmosphere and trendy people to watch. Always a good time. more

400+ Reviews are Paid for - PATHETIC! 9/24/2006

Nakama has OK sushi, but come on, when you bribe your customer's with a $10 gift certificate to give you a good review! That is just Pathetic! I had to put it out there, so that people know their 400+ reviews were paid for. It's really sad, this is suppose to be a site for a true honest reviews. Nakama is noisy, the waiters take forever to serve you, and it's way overpriced. If you want authentic sushi go to CHAYA THE BEST SUSHI IN THE BURGH! more

Awesome food all around 9/24/2006

If you have not been to Nakama yet you need to!! They have the best japense food that I have ever had. The sushi bar is also really good. I go to Nakama atlest once a week for the sushi bar. The habachi is also excellent! The service is great and so is the food. more

Great food, atmosphere, and drinks 9/24/2006

I've only been once, but the food was very good. If you enjoy Hibachi Steakhouses, the atmosphere could not be better. It was loud and exciting, and you will enjoy it with an entire dinner party or just a date. The selection of Japanese beers was also appealing to me. I will definitely go back again. more

Great service! 9/24/2006

My friends took me there for my 45th birthday. The food was excellent! I had twin lobster tails and they were cooked to perfection. They even allowed us to bring in the birthday cake my friends ordered me from New York. They cut it and served it for us. I was having such a great night I left without my digital camera. Later on when I remembered, I called Nakama frantic....they already had it at the front podium waiting for me. They're staff are not only personable....but honest. I love this restaurant and reccommend it to everyone I know. I live over an hour away and think nothing of driving to the south side just to eat at Nakama. more

Best sushi and fun dinner! 9/24/2006

I love Nakama, not only do they have great sushi but they also have great hibatchi and the bar is great for having a fun night out. I would pick Nakama over any other sushi bar in town! more

Best sushi and Best Happy hour 9/24/2006

Nakama is one of the happening spots in Pittsburgh - on any nite of the week! Great happy hour and great atmosphere. Would highly recommend it for the food and the people. Would not recommend if concerned with the noise because it does tend to get a bit loud. Overall great hibachi food and the chefs always had a lil something to their shows. Highly recommended! Pros: Ambience Cons: Parking more

Best sushi in town 9/24/2006

I was so happy when Nakama opened and have loved going there ever since. The sushi is really great and there is a nice selection. They also have great happy hour specials. The food served hibatchi is good too. You really cant go wrong with this restaurant. more

Great atmosphere 9/24/2006

The atmosphere is very intimate but also is very welcoming to a group of friends. The dim lighting, personal chef and large amounts of delicious food encourage customers to come back for more. Make sure you make a reservation, because even though this place is well worth the wait, the excitement Nakama brings may make it hard to stand! Pros: Atmosphere Cons: Parking more

Great Time at Nakama! 9/24/2006

Our Red Hat group, Rubies & Amethyst with the Pink & Purple Pirate Princesses, recently had lunch at Nakama, and it was fantastic! The waitstaff was very understanding and let my mom sit in the dinning room while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. (Her bad knees make prolong standing painful.) Just little things like that make all the difference. Our food was delicious! I enjoyed a Hanalei Roll and Unagi (eel) sashimi. YUM YUM! Other members of our party enjoyed Filet Mignon. Each cooked perfectly before our eyes. The portions were filling and reasonably priced. The surrounding were just right. It was open and fun while still being special. I even appreciated the way the football game was being projected on to the back wall, allowing us to keep score without being overwhelmed. I can't wait to visit again! more

Excellent Food 9/24/2006

The food and drinks are wonderful and so is the wait staff. A great great gathering place to meet up with friends on a Friday/Saturday night!! Pros: Food, dining area, bar more

Great weekend lunch spot 9/24/2006

My husband and I went for lunch on a Sunday and had no problem getting a seat right away (no reservations). It was our first time at this type of restaurant. We were curious about the cuisine, but no clue what the terminology meant. Our server and chef were very knowlegable and helpful. Everything was delicious!! We can't wait to go back.\r Pros: service, value, quality more

Great Filet and Sushi 9/24/2006

My girlfriend and I went to Nakama about 2 weeks ago and had a great dinner. The Filet with Shrimp Appetizer was amazing as well as California Roll. Would highly recommend and atmosphere is fun. more
