Love the food! The best food I've had in a long time. The service was a little slow. But I didn't mind.

I totally agree with every reviews on here that talk about the terrible service and rude awful manager. I've eaten at nakama a few times. It's either hit or miss. My time there is...

Best Japanese Food By Far! 9/25/2006

Great atmosphere, fabulous food! Portions are huge, I always leave with leftovers, and am stuffed. I was afraid of Sushi, after a bad experience before, but tried it here, and am hooked! It gets extremely busy, so make reservations, and plan to stay awhile, but fresh food, cooked to perfection, always takes longer. They do a great job. Parking can be a problem, but they do offer valet parking after 6PM. Pros: Great food, friendly staff! more

Wonderful Service and food 9/25/2006

This resturant is one of my Favorites, so much so that it is where I take all of my friends for their birthday dinners and where my Family takes me every year for my birthday...It is a wonfderful atmosphere, and great food..I love watching all of the action at the hibachi tables, but even the bar area is a great place to sit and enjoy yourself. Pros: Great atmoshere and food Cons: parking, but the valet is great option to that. more

Best sushi I ever had! A++ for ambience, quality, and service! 9/25/2006

My husband surprised me with dinner at Nakama for my birthday. What a wonderful surprise! I had heard great accolades about this restaurant but now I know that they're all true! The food was unsurpassed and the service was wonderful. The staff really knows how to make a special occasion an even more memorable evening. I can't wait to return!!! This place is great to meet out with all age groups. The sushi is great and so are the drinks. You might even see a Steeler or two. more

Best of Everything! 9/25/2006

All I can say is that I love Nakama! I went to another Hibachi style restaurant on Friday and it was a mistake! The food and service were no comparison. Everything about the Nakama is great, especially the Nakama Cosmo. I promise I will never cheat on the Nakama with another place again. more

Great place to bring out-of-towners 9/25/2006

I have been to Nakama twice in about a month and a half. The first time I brought someone from out of town. They wanted to eat somewhere that was a little different and fun. I had heard good things about Nakama and had been there for drinks, so I dicided to take a chance. I am so glad I did. The food was delicious and the service was great. We even had our own mini magic show in the bar area while we were waiting - someone hired by the restaurant. Our four of hearts is forever (or until someone knocks it off) on the ceiling near the bar. I had a lot of fun and would recommend Nakama to anyone, especially out-of-towners. more

Fantastic atmosphere and cuisine 9/25/2006

Nakama is a wonderful restaurant for a special night. The food was incredible and the service impeccable. We were sat on time and were not rushed from our table in any way. It was refreshing to sit down and enjoy a meal for over two hours without being rushed to leave. more

Great Food...Very Noisy!! 9/25/2006

This isn't the place to go for peace but if it is great food and alot of fun you are looking for, this is it!! Our mom's group met there for dinner. The cooks were great fun and the food was wonderful...just a bit hard to have a conversation with anyone but those seated right next to you. more

Nakama Japanese Steakhouse 9/25/2006

Awesome! Four of us went to Nakama 2 weeks ago to celebrate a birthday. Very entertaining evening and nice to surprise the birthday guy with a desert and singing. The food at Nakama is amazing and you definately get what you pay for - from filet, veggies to sushi etc! We are looking forward to going back again soon and plan on taking our parents for their anniversary. more

Great food, drinks, fun 9/25/2006

Nine of us spent an evening around the grill. The coconut shrimp and scallops were wonderful. We ordered some unique drinks, had a great time. This is a great place for a group of people to eat, celebrate and enjoy the atmosphere. Pros: Great food and atmosphere more

what can i say i love this restaurant. The steak is SO tender and tasty, so is the shrimp and chicken. Service is wonderful and drinks are superb. Not cheap but the cost is very reasonable. more

Great sushi, great crowd, get there early as you can for happy hour, it gets crowded!!! Excellent appetizers and great enviroment! Feels like you are in a bigger city than Pittsburgh! more

I have to Nakama many times on many different occasions... From just me and my husband to a bachelorette party for 20 women. Each and every time I have been there, I have never been disappointed. I would and do recommend it to everyone. more

It was probably the best dining experience that I have had in a long time. The customer service was great from the moment we arrived to the second that we left. The atmosphere for Hibachi is great! 9/24/2006

I went to Nakama for the first time last week. I've been to other Hibachi restaurants before, but what distinguishes this one from all others is the atmosphere. It was great being able to be right in the middle of all the grills. The food was excellent, and wow, what great portions. You definitely get enough to eat. Fun, entertaining atmosphere with pleasant service! 9/24/2006

I took a friend here for her 27th birthday celebration. I called ahead for reservations and asked that the special ""birthday"" dessert, along with singing and gong playing, to make the evening special. The service was exceptional and the food was delicious. Our waiter was polite and pleasant despite the growing dinner crowd. Check it out! It's an experience you won't forget.
