Love the food! The best food I've had in a long time. The service was a little slow. But I didn't mind.

I totally agree with every reviews on here that talk about the terrible service and rude awful manager. I've eaten at nakama a few times. It's either hit or miss. My time there is...

amazing hibachi 9/20/2006

While some believe every hibachi restaurant is the same, Nakama stands out above the rest. It is definately more ""happening"" than other Japanese steakhouses and the atmosphere is what attracts different demographics of patrons. The food is amazing and the entire experience is just plain fun. Steak and shrimp keep me coming back! more

great sushi and atmosphere. highly recommended for hanging out after work or at the sushi bar for dinner. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of food and service. more

Great Restaurant - Regardless of the Gift Certificate conspiracy 9/20/2006

I would have written this review even if there wasn't a $10 gift certificate available.\r \r This is a great restaurant. Good food, resonable price and great atmosphere.\r I've been to a lot of Japanese restaurants and this is one of my favorites. I honestly have no complaints about the restuarant. I went on a Friday night with a reservation and got right in. The food was great and the service was fine.\r \r I have recomended this restaurant to a lot of friends and will be returning many times. more

A place to take the entire family! 9/20/2006

The restaurant on the south side is an excellent place to go for a Saturday night dinner. A reservation was made online and when we got their we were immediately directed to our table for 8. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious. Also, the pricing is great considering the large amount of food you receive for any item on the menu that is chosen. more

Best Hibachi in Town!! 9/19/2006

Nakama is not your average Japanese steakhouse. From my first experience I gave it a 10+. I've been back there many times for the excellent food and friendly service. The deals far surpass any of the others I've ever had at any other Japanese steakhouse. I highly recommend trying Nakama for your next special occassion! more

Nakama is most definitely my favorite place to eat! I have been here many times and every time I have such a great time. I would never think you could have such a good time at a restaurant. The atmosphere is great! It is ideal for any occasions -- a night out with your friends, a date, or just to go and get some drinks and sushi! I highly recommend everyone try it....you will not be let down. Pros: Sushi bar Cons: none! more

Really great atmosphere and great food! 9/19/2006

I've been to Nakama a couple of times now and I have always had a wonderful time. I actually don't usually like seafood so you would think I would avoid a restaurant like this, but even I love going to Nakama. For a nice restuarant in Pittsburgh the prices are about right and you get to watch your food being prepared. It's worth going here for the entertainment and it definitely helps that the food tastes great in the end. I totally recommend this place. more

AWESOME RESTAURANT!! 9/19/2006

I am originally from Pittsburgh but am now in Columbus, OH.....anytime I make it back home, Nakama is usually a spot that I try to go back to. Not only is the food wonderful, but I have always been treated very well by the staff!! Each time I feel like it gets better everytime. I will be in town in 2weeks and my entire family is planning on going. Great Food, Great Atmosphere, No Restuarant Tops nakama 9/19/2006

My wife and I have been to Nakama a few times since it has opened and I cannot say anything bad about the restaurant. The service has been good, food is excellent, the ambiance and atmoshere are fun. I'm a lover of japanese food and what can I say? A girl's gotta love her meat right? Well, I was pleasantly surprised by not only the service here, but by the food. The servers were very informative and on the ball with everything that a server needs to do and the food has never let me down yet. It is slightly pricey, but it's certainly worht it. more

I love the sushi, and the scallops for the hibachi are the best! The food is always fresh, and I always enjoying going there. Service is always good! The portions are huge too!\r \r Anyway, I guess someone posted a negative post- it is a shame that someone had a bad experiance. Not everyone can like everything though...\r \r And for those of you that think these reviews are biased because the owner e-mailed the Nakama mailing list with the incentive of a $10 gift certificate for their feedback- think about it- if someone didn't like Nakama why would they go through the trouble of writing a positive review to get a gift certificate to eat somewhere thay didn't like? So I don't think that these reviews are biased at all. They are simply people's opinions that they had before recieving the $10 incentive which they put into words on this site. \r \r Anyway, if you haven't tried nakama yet- try it for yourself and then you can decide. I bet that you will probably like it! \r \r Pros: Everything! Cons: tough to park in the southside- but they have valet! more

Wonderful atmosphere, the best japanese in the city 9/19/2006

We discovered Nakamas about a year ago. This has become our restaurant of choice on every special event and I personally take all of my buisness clients here for lunch. I have never had an unpleasent experiance. The service is fantastic and the food is to die for. I highly recommend Nakamas. Pros: fabulous food more

Bachelorette must-go! 9/19/2006

Any group that has anything to celebrate should do it at Nakama! Not only will you get the best Japanese it Pittsburgh, but you'll get quite a show too. A group of us went to Nakama for my bachelorette party and even my most picky friends kept raving about how great the food was. The portion size is very large, the drinks are tasty, and the atmosphere is fun. ...Definitely one of the best restaurants in Pittsburgh - and the best for Japanese. Pros: Yummy food. Fun atmosphere. Nakama is one of my favorite restaurants EVER! My friends and I eat there at least twice a month, we just can't get enough! My fav is Bob's Triple, it is the best!! The service is great, the food is even better and theres even the entertainment of watching the chef cook right in front of you! You have to try, its an excellent dining experience! more

Can I just say VIP baby!! 9/19/2006

I absolutely love Nakamas! Where else can you be treated like a VIP and even get a card to say it. I've been going to Nakamas for over a year now and must say it is an experience every time I go. I particulary enjoy Thursday nights and Friday happy hour. The atmosphere is upscale, the service five star, and the food incredible. Nakamas goes out of their way to make each customer whether first timer or regular feel like VIP. Check it out if you haven't already!!\r \r Ray more

Best resturant for food and service 9/19/2006

Nakama is my favorite resturant. I have never had any complaints any time I have been there. The employee are awesome and the food is amazing! I try to eat there at least once a week! I've taking a lot of people from out of town there and they all agree that it is one of the best resutrants there is! The atmosphere is awesome and it is great for the whole family!
