MyHome Kitchen Renovation Review 1/13/2011

I hired MyHome to renovate my Gramercy apartment kitchen. It was my first renovation experience ever. The project was stress free, finished on time, on budget and the kitchen looks amazing. My project manager was extremely knowledgeable and was always accessible no matter when I called. I had no clue what cabinets, fixtures, flooring etc. to choose. He put together several options so all I had to do what pick the one I liked. I was also impressed at how smoothly they navigated through the process of coop approvals. I didn't have to do any of the legwork. The contractors were nice, on time and each day left my apartment as clean as it could be under construction. I would highly recommend MyHome and am planning to use them again to renovate my bathroom. more

Gut Renovation Bathroom 1/11/2011

Renovation projects can be full of anxiety from overruns, problems, etc. MyHome was easy to work with from beginning to end. Ben Pitt designed a great bathroom with my input. Did all the legwork with my coop board and made the renovation as low stress as possible and the results were excellent. I highly recommend them. more

Beautiful kitchen and bath 1/8/2011

Our kitchen and bath was gutted and renovated by My Home last Jan, 2010. Our designer was Ben Pitt and Yoel Piotraut took charge of the renovation. They were both great to work with. They returned calls or emails promptly and finished the job on time. Adjustments that were needed to be done after the renovation was taken cared of promptly. I'm happy with my bathroom and kitchen! more

Kitchen Renovation -- Nicely Done! 1/8/2011

Good: The lead person, Ben Pitt, was knowedgable, patient, and very willing to go over options. He heard us out as to our ideas -- some practical, some otherwise! -- and helped us get to a strong design. We had no issues when we wanted to acquire certain materials directly rather than shopping thru MyHome. The price quote was solid with no add-ons or adjustments. The work was completed on time. Follow on work and touch ups were taken care promptly and reasonably, even some months after the job was completed.. Bad: Timeliness of the crew was sometimes spotty, especially towards the end of the project. The crew also needs a bit more supervision to insure quality -- which was generally very good -- does not slip.. Improvements: 1. Agreed-upon times when the lead design/MyHome employee would be on-site to insure the crew is on-track and faithful to the plan. 2. See above note re: crew supervision re: quality of finish. "Very good", while nothing to sneeze at, should be "excellent" for a full-service firm like MyHome.. Other: All of the people we interacted with, from floor room staff, Ben, crew chief, and tradespeople were polite, professional, and helpful.. more

Impressed 1/7/2011

I've had bad experiences with contractors previously, but I can only say good things about My Home. My project involved a gut kitchen remodel with structural changes. Ben Pitt was flexible in working with my budget, the workers were respectful, my apartment was kept very neat and organized, and the job was done on budget and even completed a little early. I've already recommended them to my sister who my be doing some renovations shortly. more

MyHome Renovations 1/6/2011

I've worked with Ben Pitt at MyHome for two renovation projects. The first in 2005 was a total overhaul of my duplex apartment -kitchen, bathroom, floor leveling, paint, and a new window. I chose to go to him again in 2010 after a building fire that required new paint and wood floor work. Both times he was patient, open to my design ideas, well organized, on schedule, and competitive with local prices. more

Great Job 1/4/2011

My project entailed putting in a shower where a jacuzzi tub had been. Since I renovated my bathroom 5 years ago I wanted to keep some of the original tile and pick tile that would mesh with it .My coop also was impressed with the plans they submitted. they said they were totally detailed and approved the project in a few days. I must say my design consultant Ben Pitt fit the bill. He was very patient with my indecisiveness and we picked material that went with the existing items. My shower is gorgeous - and as friends say "very elegant." The workers were exceptionally neat. They sealed off the rest of the apartment so there was minimal dust. the project also was completed early. I found Ben and Yoel extremely professional and even six months later they follow up to make sure I am still happy. more

MY HOME 12/30/2010

Ben Pitt and his team of skilled workers renovated my kitchen in 2009. They kept within my budget, and guided me through the process of making design and appliance choices that suited my style and needs. In particular, the workers were respectful and sensitive to my family's space as we were living here while the renovation was going on. My building super also commented on the worker's respect for the hallways, elevators and working hours restrictions. Ben and his team also kept me informed and up to date on every step of the process and finished the job ahead of schedule. I highly recommend My Home for any renovation projects. more

Excellent! 12/30/2010

It's been a year since I had my renovations done by Myhome. After scouting around looking for someone I could trust I stumbled upon My Home Renovations. I felt good about the people I was working with (Ben Pitt & Yoel Piotraut) as well as the people who actually did the labor. Ben was invaluable in helping me select tiles, fixtures, paint colors, did a fantastic job with his mechanical drawings that even impressed building management, and Yoel was invaluable as a project manager. They started on time, quoted a four week turn-around, and met their deadline. There were no cost overuns other than the few change orders we discussed throughout the process that naturally added to the cost. When up against a few roadblocks I was promptly contacted and we discussed solutions. I wouldn't look beyond this company for renovations. more

Deco Bathrrom 12/17/2010

My Home help us create a art deco bathroom with walk in shower in our pre war building. Splendid job! It looks like it was always there but has the sleek modern touch too. From design, to execution to follow up and punch list, they were the most professional, responsive and caring guys! Thanks to all! more
