THIS IS HEART BREAKING 1/17/2009

I was out of town since the middle of September & was surprised and heartbroken to find my favorite place closed!!!!! I am aware of the flooding situation (I was there for several of them) and I find it appalling that the Co-Op Board & Managing agent refused to do anything about the conditions of buildings or sewer system & fix the problems. The owner spend a lot of money to fix up the cafe and made a dreadful corner have class and great food and coffee. I was informed that the place closed on October 27th this was confirmed by at least a dozen people and other businesses? in the vicinity so the last comment on the November 7th is pathetic and pure evil and nothing but lies. I hope that Munch reopens at another location soon. We lost a perfect place with a perfect Owner and Staff. It will be impossible to find such a great place anywhere else Pros: THE BEST PLACE IS THE GREATEST Cons: NO LONGER OPEN!!!!! more

Overhyped 11/7/2008

Maybe I just had a bad experience but I don't think I would visit Munch again. I ordered a panini and after waiting 20 minutes (there was no crowd whatsoever), I got some sort of wrap. The waiter acknowledged the mistake and I had to wait another 20 minutes for the panini. I couldn't even bite into the sandwich because the bread was so hard. The waiter tells me panini bread is supposed to be hard. I told him I know what a panini is and that the bread is supposed to be crusty and toasted by being pressed. I then had to show the waiter that I couldn't even tear the bread apart with two hands much less bite into it. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but I didn't think a simple panini was that difficult to make. Sidenote: When I went to the restroom in the back, they had collected a mound of dirty linen on the floor in the dining area. Pros: flatscreen tv Cons: everything else more

Best all around cafe. Great food, affordable prices. 10/4/2008

I moved into the area recently and there really isn't many places to eat that are not only delicious but also affordable. Munch Cafe covers both. The prices are perfect for this tight economy and the food tastes FANTASTIC. I know that their signature is the coffee, and don't get me wrong it is the best, but the food is also outstanding and worth trying. Pros: Affordable prices with outstanding food Cons: N/A more

I found Heaven In Forest Hills 5/4/2008

Well I have to tell you that Munch Cafe feels like I died and went to heaven. The coffee & teas, besides having a large selection are fantastic. The staff are all wonderful. The food is great & inexpensive. Everything is cooked from scratch so it does take alittle longer but most definitly worth the wait. I seem to have found my new home. Kudos to Munch!!!! more

Well I have to tell you that Munch Cafe feels like I died and went to heaven. The coffee & teas, besides having a large selection are fantastic. The staff are all wonderful. I have been going to Munch Cafe & Grill for the last three years, & I have nothing bad to say about them. The food is always delicious, especially the burgers. The coffee is always fresh. & the staff, no matter how busy, are always quick and friendly. They are simply the best restaurant in Forest Hills. (i<3cb) yours truly. i come in every sunday to eat i am there for about 3 hours every sunday talking to the staff and just hanging around. i love the food and the service. i had a order of poached eggs and some steak. both where great. carlos the general manager who was cooking that day. made THE BEST poached eggs i have ever tried. i have been to so called ""5 star"" restaurants and they didnt master the poached egg. well just had to say i do not know where drasik was he must have been at another munch.. lol.. service was great even though they where understaffed..!!! thanks guys.. see you next week.. happy holidays!!! Pros: Great Staff, Great Food, Great Value. more

I Am Sorry For Your Bad Experience 12/24/2007

Dear dakif, Being the owner of Munch Cafe and Grill, I was very upset to read your review. I have no excuse or explanation for the poor service or the food being served to you so terribly. I respect your feed back and take it to heart when a customer is not satisfied. I hope that you will please reconsider coming back to the cafe so I can make it right. I feel that if given the chance you might enjoy it as your friends did in the past. Once again I want to apologize for the bad experience that you had at my cafe. I hope you and your family have a very happy holiday. I feel that the staff as well as myself will learn from this mistake and it will be corrected to prevent this in the future.
