Amazing food and handcrafted cocktails 4/9/2012

Mulleady's Irish Pub in Magnolia is a wonderful little hidden gem that boasts having the largest selection of Irish Whiskeys on the West Coast and delicious local fare. Their staff is knowledgeable and friendly, food is well prepared and has a great Northwest twist on Irish classics like Shepard's Pie and Fish 'n Chips (currently and beautiful fillet of local Halibut and hand cut fries), and they specialize in classic cocktails. Their Old Fashioned (a house favorite) is a clean and classic recipe, and all cocktails are well balanced and delivered with beautiful presentations. The interior is warm and inviting with fireplaces and dark wood. Downstairs is perfect for dining and drinks and even has an upstairs lounge with a full bar, foosball and darts. It's the perfect place to host an event or party and can be reserved most nights of the week (no rental fee!). Monday nights serve as ""Trivia Night"" upstairs at 8pm, early arrival recommended, it can get pretty busy. All in all, this is one of my favorite spots in the area and recommend it to anyone who enjoys great food and incredible drinks. more

Mulleady's ***COMPLETELY FAILED*** 10/20/2011

***OTHER LOCAL PUBS ARE FAR BETTER*** I regret inviting my friends to celebrate my birthday at boring & bad-service Mulleady's. ***IT WAS MY FIRST TIME THERE AND I SEE NO REASON NOT TO MAKE IT MY LAST.*** Sadly, the incredibly slow & inattentive service could not manage to separate our bill as agreed & not mess-up 1/2 our orders. Half of us never received offer of drink refills & the meal I was served was more fat than meat. There are 2 great locations inside Mulleady's for live music, but on a Saturday night they played the same dross jazz CD all night long & too loud; one would think to get at least canned Irish/Scottish traditional music or rock in a purportedly Irish PUB. Mulleady's has a nice interior, but so-what when you get treated better at a McDonald's or a 7-year-old's lemon-aid stand. When I wrote the owner a 5-paragraph *business letter* to let him know my complaints, he jotted an 18 word response on it & sent me a photocopy only casually saying 'thanks for my *note*' and to get a hold of him at his convenience. I get the impression Mulleady's on the whole doesn't know the first thing about the food/drink industry or business in general. If you want interior, service, quality food, and live Celtic music, I suggest absolutely steering clear of Mulleady's bad-service poseur-Irishy restaurant. Instead go to a real pub -- one that has heart, life & spirit like Kells, Terrible Beauty, Fado and other local establishments where you're more likely to leave with your moneys-worth and a cherished memory. more

Decent place for a Pint. 10/9/2010

This a great alternative to the hustle and bustle of Kell's. My friends and I frequent it, and occasionally they have a Groupon that shows up for 1/2 price food. It's a quality place and deserves our money. :-) more

Great food, Great beer 7/7/2010

I love this pub, I really do. It's not the best pub in the world, but it is better than most stereotypical Irish pubs. First off, the interior is nice. It's dark, with typical bar trappings. Nothing strange, but pleasant. The food is all decent, the fries are pretty good as well. They aren't the best in the world, but they are you-can't-eat-just-one good. I recommend the burger and blackberry honey chevre fondue. My absolute favorite part about this pub is that they have Irish Death on the happy hour menu. It's only $1 off, but it's my favorite beer. It's really, really delicious. It's a sweet imperial stout, it's like candy. The service is at least average to good. I have never had a problem except that the waiter forgot that our food and drinks were off the happy hour menu once, but he fixed it promptly. It's a residential area, so parking can be rough. Despite that, I suggest that you visit. Pros: Irish death on HH menu, Frites Cons: Parking more
