Muddy Paws Inc

In September 2009, we adopted a dog from a rescue shelter in Barrington, Illinois. We were told at that time, he was being "fostered" at Muddy Paws and we were told she just fostered dogs. I thank god we got our "Lobo" when we did as this was apparently right around the time this situation started. After reading severals of the news reports, I went to Lobo and gave him the biggest, longest hug he has ever had!!! Ms. Eldrup told us, at the time we picked him up from her, that he wasn't a "good eater" and was on the thin side because of that. In the lobby of her business were stacks and stacks of dog food, so I am very confused as to how she could NOT be feeding these animals. She also told us she only had 3 dogs that she was "fostering" and no other animals. I am still confused as to how all this happened, but again thank god we got at least one dog out of her hands more

I drive past this place every day and If I or anyone else would have known the horror going on behind those doors of her so called "Rescue Shelter" I'm sure so many people would have busted in to save those poor innocent animals. They were locked in cages to starve while seeing bags of food they couldn't reach. The woman in charge is a sick deranged dreg of sociaty. All she had to do was make a phone call for help.. but no, she choose to make the animals suffer. I hope the Judge makes her stay in a small cage packed with her own feces with empty food & water bowls until she passes out and then needs to be rehiderated like the 6 remaining dogs & cats that were barely hanging onto life when they were found. more

My friendly black lab was refused for boarding due to her age (10 yrs old). We had taken her few times in previous years, but they have a new policy against old dogs. She is healthy, friendly, and not on any medication. We won't return to Muddy Paws. more

We had happily taken our Golden Retriever to Muddy Paws for a few years, only to learn that they have a new policy where they refused to take dogs over 10 yrs old. Our healthy-not-on-any-medicine "old" Golden Retriever is almost 12. How disappointing that they have chosen to make this policy change due to one situation where a sick older dog passed away. If you plan to care for your dog for the rest of his/her life, do not use Muddy Paws. more

I had my previous dog boarded, bathed, and groomed at Muddy Paws for many years until he passed away. Now that we have a new dog, I had no hesitations about bringing him to Muddy Paws for his grooming and boarding. Diane is the most caring and friendly owner I have EVER met at a kennel or groomers. The atmosphere for humans and animals cannot be beat! -Kathy more

I have had several greyhounds over the years that Diane has taken care of. I did worry the very first time how he would do but Diane took such good care of him he actually loved going back! All my greyhounds have done so well there, winter, summer, anytime I have had to board them. Margie more

Having many pets we have been to Muddy Paws Kennel allot. The staff is wonderful and Diane is more than a compassionate pet lover she is like the MOM of all the pets she boards. We are at peace while traveling knowing our 'Kids" are there and know its as if they were at home,minus us of course ! but Diane fills that gap! We are so very fortunate we found out about Muddy Paws years ago and although some of our pets have gone on we continue to bring the new ones there and they have a very stressful and caring vacation too ! My dog is like one of my children. When we go on vacation I worry that he will be ok. I have used Muddy Paws Kennel for several years now and they are great! They are located on Rand Rd right by Deer Park shopping. It is a family owned Kennel and the owners are very nice. My dog Buddy seems happy to be there. I have never had a problem! It is a great feeling to know that your pet is well taken care of! more
