Great customer service and good quality of service 3/21/2009

I went to get 4 new tires for my car last July and I was impressed with how well the store manager and the staff handled my request and helped me get the best deal for the money. He offered me a great discount and thanked me for my service. \r \r I am not sure what is up with the negative reviews about this company, but I only had positive experiences with them. They are very friendly and went out of their way to please me. I will definitely do business with them again for my tire needs. :) Pros: Great price, customer service, friendly staff, hardworking Cons: None that I know off more

STAY AWAY !!! 3/20/2009

Brought my car in to have front end inspected as I suspected I neeeded struts replaced. No they said ""you need new axles"" that would run me around $2,500. My jaw dropped. They couldn't explain what led to this conclusion, but assured me that my car parts cost a lot of money (especially after colony marks them up considerably). I told them I would think about it while I shopped around. The next day a shop in Raleigh says I don't need new axles but do need struts (as I suspected). The cost for parts and repair $470. \r \r Earlier this year colony also conveniently found several things on my 2 yr old car that should be repaired. I was only there for an inspection, but it was amazing what services they wanted to charge me for. \r \r Avoid this place like the plague!\r \r Oh and they still have my $100 to incorrectly diagnose my front end problems.\r \r Oh and if you need tires, go to ""Discount Tire"" they have superb service and always in stock.\r \r Pros: convenient location Cons: dishonest, want to fix things that aren't broken. more

Workmanship was bad with no customer satisfaction-- Stay Away. 1/9/2009

Hold on to your wallet! Be specific here. They did work, it was not right, they re-did it, it was not right again, refuse to solve the problem or return fee. A car mill with one objective $. Would never use Colony Tire again. Pros: Friendly staff Cons: They do not stand behind there work, Customer Satisfaction not important to Colony Tire more

Watch the dirty tricks!! 11/24/2008

I went to this shop to do the NC inspection. After a while, they told me that they ""suggested"" 6 repairs, including 90K maintenance, alignment etc., which will cost about $550. I clearly told them NO. Then they said they provided free alignment and it would not hurt just to check if I need a realignment. I said OK and confirmed that this was a free service and there was no extra cost. As some of you realized, ""Of Course"", they went ahead and finished the wheel alignment. In the end, they just told me that they have finished the alignment and I need to pay $70+$7supply fee. I paid since $70 is not an unreasonable price for wheel alignment but hated this kind of tricks so much. I will never go to any Colony Tire store. Pros: N/A Cons: Dishonest more

They Appear to Be Out for Your Money... 4/22/2008

I went in a while ago to get my car looked at for an indicator light which had come on. They charged about $80 to plug their machine in to decipher the error code (go to Autozone, they'll do this for free). They then proceeded to tell me that based on the error code of a few miss fires that they'd recommend a full tune-up on the vehicle. They quoted a price of around $950 (something about difficult plug locations). I opted to go to Autozone to confirm the reading and I can confirm that Goodyear was honest about the error code. I chose to reset the computer chip and see if the problem resurfaced. I've had no problems since the reset - so far, saved my self $950. more

Colony Tire on Davis...not worth the time 12/14/2007

Well I had a bad experience at this Colony tire. I took it there to because my Cooling System was messing up. So, I had to wait 3 day b/c of parts not coming in. When they received the part, parts/labor was over $500. I drove it for 3 days and My radiator hose blew. I had it towed to Colony and the person at the front guarantees me it will be done the next morning and so I call at 1pm the next day and another person says the part has NOT come in. I was so mad so I told him what she guarenteed me and he apologizes. So I had to come back to the Colony tire to pick up my car again. It was picked up but it was such a a hassle. I wont be going back b/c they couldnt get the parts in a reasonable time and the Girl at the front didnt know what she was talking about.\r more

Avoid like the plague 7/27/2007

What a ripoff these people are! I took a car I had just bought used to these people to be checked out. They told me that the brakes were dangerously worn out, I needed a new tie rod arm, and recommended several other repairs. After the sticker shocking price quote, I decided to get the work done elsewhere. Myregular mechanic, who is a lifelong friend, told me that most of their recommendations were either outright lies or substantial distortions. Their quote for the work recommended--more than $600. Actual price I paid for the work I needed--$110.\r \r Stay far far away. Pros: Fast, available Cons: dishonest, expensive more
