What great care the staff at Mountain View Animal Hospital provides! Dr. Nelson is an excellent veterinarian. The staff is knowledgeable and very compassionate. I would recommend them to anyone!! more

I went there today because my cat developed a abscess over the weekend. When the doctor first came out she was very nice and very sweet to my cat, she told me what needed to be done (put under, abscess removed, stitched up, drain put in, ecollar, and on antibiotics). She told me she would get a estimate and be right back. She never came back. The assistant came in and showed me the cost, that exceeded 400$ they had NO payment options, because I was a new costumer they would not accept a check, could not break the bill down into half and pay 1 week apart. She said I could pay half up front and the other half when I picked my cat up. Again I NEVER saw the vet after she left from examining my cat. The assistant came back and forth at least 5 times trying to figure something out with the payment. Finally they told me they would not treat her without the money up front. The vet stayed behinde the door the entire time i know this because i could see her when the assistant walked out and coul more

I've taken four generations of my dogs this clinic since the 90's and I think they do a good job. My dogs are like my kids and I don't trust them with just anybody. They have always kept my dogs healthy. more

For the most part...RUDE!!! The staff has a very high turnover rate. Dr. Stutesman is in it for no other reason than the money. He has no idea what goes on inside his clinic. They change their hours constantly. Want my opinion? Go somewhere else! Not to mention, completely IMMORAL!!!! If you love your pet, stay away!!! more

My husband and I take our pets to Mountain View Animal Hospital. I have found their staff to be EXTREMELY professional, ALWAYS polite, and the doctors really do care about your pets. Their fees are right in-line with what we have found in this area. Drs. Duke & Pennell went out of their way when one of our pets had a serious liver issue, even staying after hours to observe how she was doing. Dr. Stutesman has been very good to us, as well. In fact, I can't recall anything unprofessional about ANY of the vets at this clinic. In our opinion, the people who don't care in this area are the last vets we had, who let our last sheltie DIE rather than tell us she had a heart problem, which we could have managed with medication. They really DIDN'T care about the pets...with them, it was ALL ABOUT THE MONEY! more

We had to use this clinic once when we first moved here when my dog got very sick. They were the only place we could find on short notice to take us. They took wonderful care of my dog and feel that they are very caring. We ended up moving to their other location becasue it was closer to us and they are just as good. more

Charge for this, fee for that. Not interested in care but CASH. Dr. Barlow's great. But...a fee for them to write a prescription. What's next a charge if my dog poops on the floor? more

This place cannot keep a good staff. The turnover is unbelieveable. Must be the management situation, which I understand is the worst. Find somewhere else to take your pet if you want good, compasionate medical care for your pets. Dr. Stutesman could care less about your pets; he is only out for money, and to see how large he can make his monopoly. Some of the doctors are really great, but you have to have good working conditions where everyone enjoys their jobs. to have the kind of practice that cares about coming to work and loving what they do. This is not the case here. more

This is the best vet I have every taken my dogs to. I have no problem getting appts. and don't have to wait long when I get there. I have Dr. Pennel and he is just wonderful with my dogs. He gets on the floor with them if they are scared and talks to them and pets them until they are comfortable. I have also kenneled my dogs here and they seemed very content when I picked them up and they smelled clean along with their blankets. I would highly recommend this place. more

My do stayed with them when we went to New York. They were very nice to our dog. But he got very sick because of separation anxiety. They put him on a sulfur drug. Then he was allergic to the sulfur but they did a good job bringing him back to good help. more

We faithfully went to this vet for a long time but now that they have expanded with multiple offices we have been left behind in the shuffle. Appointments are difficult, the wait time is long and there is no friendly rapport with the ever changing staff. Very disappointed in what happened to a once great vet. We are now seeking another care giver for our pets. more

For what its worth, I'm a pretty picky person in general and I have had many wonderful experiences with this office. In fact, in 6 years of having our labrador, we've lived in 6 cities and seen at least as many vets. I have never had the care and attention from the vet as I have here. We've only lived in Hickory for about 2 years and I know I've taken the dog in about 10 times (for regular check-up, vaccinations, to get nails drimmelled, ears flushed, teeth cleaned, surgery to remove a lipoma fatty tumor, emergency help when she ripped her stiches out, etc. (and that was right as they were closing on a Saturday and they were SUPER polite about it)... You name it.) Literally every time I've been there, I've had a terrific experience. The techs LOVE the pets, they go out of their way to be positive and helpful in a sometimes loud and noisy environment. My husband and I recently moved to the area from New York and were very worried about finding a vet as excellent as our previous vet. Once we found MVAH, however, we were so pleased. The doctors and nursers are so nice and take great care of our dog. We have had a few emergencies and they have seen us quickly and put our fears at ease. They will absolutely be our vet for as long as we are here. more

I had been taking our dog there since they opened but over the past few years I have been dissappointed in the care. I have had two appointments that I had to wait over an hour for my scheduled appointment. Even when we had to put our 15 year old dog we still had to wait, I am very dissappointed in the service we received We now have a new puppy and I have no plans to return there. more

This clinic was great about 5 years ago. It has grown and during it's expansion has lost toouch with the pet owners who put them on the map. On our last visit, the wait time with an empty waiting room was over 25 minutes.Sorry to say we had to change vets when real solutions to our pet's health problem were not available here. more

The doctors at this Clinic do a complete analyst of the problem or health check first thing. They are compassionate to the animals and the owners as well. They have kept my dogs in the best health by not only caring for them but advice to me for my care for them. When I did have to put down one of my dogs from old age, they were understanding and compassionate. more
