Worth 0 stars if it was possible. I have been with mountain propane service for about 10 years and have always paid with no problems. They used to be personable and friendly like you should be able to expect from a small local business which is what I like to support. Recently over the last couple years they have been harder to work with and not as friendly. After several request for more often fill up they space them further apart then ever causing a huge bill every time tank is filled. Customer service not friendly and where they used to work hard for your business they could obviously care less now.\r After 10 years of paying I arrived home from work at 530 pm after leaving my house at noon to find my propane shut off and a note saying that my system would need to be checked before service can be turned on. I have tenants as well as my family who are now without hot water or the ability to cook. I call the office and they are closed for the day! No 24 hour warning, no note, no phone call! No heads up just turned it off. PGE does better than that which should say alot as they aren't a local small business. \r THe next morning I spoke to them and they said the couldn't set up an appt. to turn it back on until the following afternoon making it 48 hours later. I'm changing companies and would not suggest them to anyone looking for propane. 10 years ago I raved about them and now I say, Steer clear! After looking around Im finding their rates are high as well.\r What kind of company turns off propane without a 24 hr notice in the afternoon before they close and doesn't give you an appt to turn it back on for another 48 hrs. And they said they were going to miss me as a customer! LOL! I bet if they keep treating their customers like this they will be missing more than just me. Ive heard several similar stories after having posted it on social media. more

Started out good. They were quick to deliver and fill the tank, but never finished the installation, by adding the cover that protects the valve, gauge, and connection on the top of the tank. The big problem was they didn’t tell me they needed a permit from the County to install it. The County asked me to remove it. When they came to pick it up the two guys seemed not to know how to do it. It took them over an hour to crane it onto the truck. As they were leaving I asked if they had anything for me to sign? “No, we’re good”, he said. \r Over a month later I called to ask where my refund check was, since the tank at 73% still held 182 gallons. I was told by the office manager Aden T. they do not issue refunds, but offered to refund half as a courtesy. “Are you kidding me?, Amerigas sent me a check for the contents of the tank when I moved, and I didn’t have to ask them”, I said. Her response was, “We’re not Amerigas.”\r I have read a lot of bad reviews for this company on MANY other sites of which they are listed. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Mountain Propane, or Mountain Service Co.\r If I don’t receive a full refund you won’t see this company for much longer, as I have many connections with Govt. agencies who will eventually make it too difficult for them to remain in business. \r more

DON'T USE MOUNTAIN SERVICE=OVERPRICED AND BAD SERVICE 1/21/2010

Charges extra if she thinks she can.\r \r Our power went out during the biggest storm of the year, our generator stopped working and my wife was panic stricken. in 2007 she became ill and went into a coma and has been on oxygen for two years at home now and Jana knows this because we have used them for a long time. She had joe come out to fix our Generator charged us $100.00 per hour and he let to get a part and she would not let him come back at all the next day to finish the job and said he has more important things to do. So we paid $200.00 and nothing got resolved and even though due to medical reasons it could be life or death we need our power as it automatically turns on if PG&E goes off.\r \r She is putting my wife's life in danger and could care less. Rich needs to either fire her as she is killing his business or he needs to close the doors. \r \r I will be contacting the better business bureau, the local papers, the local news stations, the attorney generals office and my attorney.\r \r DO NOT USE MOUNTAIN SERVICE THEY WILL OVER CHARGE AND UNDER DELIVER AND BE RUDE ABOUT IT AS THE ONLY ONE THAT ANSWERS THE PHONE IS JANA.\r \r I am switching back to Amerigas as their sevice is great and their prices are better, Jana lied about what the costs would be, many hidden costs we were not told. So good by Mountain Service and good riddens.\r Pros: OWNER RICH AND EMPLOYEE JOE ARE GREAT... Cons: employee Jana is RUDE, BAD ATTITUDE AND IN CHARGE more
