I've been riding almost 25 years, and have dealt with a LOT of motorcycle shops in that time. Hands down Motorcycles Unlimited is one of the top shops I've ever dealt with.\r I've been dealing with Patrick and his crew for going on 10 years. His attention to detail and communication is some of the best I've dealt with.\r In that time there's only been one oversight, and Patrick went over and above to rectify it. Patrick runs a very tight ship. Many times over the years I've heard people use the words of tough but fair to describe him. \r While some may mistake his manner as short, in truth he's just to the point. \r If he tells you something, whether it's something you need or makes a commitment to a repair, you can take it to the bank.\r Everyone there in my experience cares very much about their job, and are dedicated to providing the best service possible. \r I've recommended many fellow riders to Motorcycles Unlimited through the years and have never been disappointed.\r more

Rude owner, lack of attention to detail, don't know cruiser gear. I had patronized and recommended this place for quite a while but they eventually wore me down with mistakes and finally the co-owner, Patrick, was rude to me in front of the everyone in the store lobby when he didn't know the situation.\r \r Final Issue 1) I dropped off a wheel for a new tire and mounting. I taped a large 5 x 7 note on the wheel saying what brand and tire size should be installed. They filled out their ticket but still did not install the correct tire. I had a friend pick up my wheel/tire because they are so far away. When I went to put the tire on my bike, I realized they had not sold me the correct tire. I called. They did not apologize at all or even offer me a discount for my troubles. They just said, ""Oh. Yeah. I remember the note. We'll put on the correct tire if you haven't ridden on the other one."" If I can't trust them to pay attention to mounting a tire, can I trust them with my life to work on other aspects of my bike? Attention to detail is critical. \r \r Final Issue 2) I gave them another chance on my next tire. But this time I was waiting in lobby/store area. Some cruiser customers struck up a conversation with me because they were admiring my riding gear, particularly the full leather over pants (not chaps). Now I could have told them one store (possibly two) in Houston that stocked this gear and they could buy it right off the rack that very day. Instead I rolled them to the young salesperson behind the counter who had been listening to our conversation. He immediately started showing them chaps in a catalog. Really? Did he even hear the same conversation? I politely spoke up and reminded the people to get the salesperson to show them the pants because I knew they were in the same catalog. That's when the owner Patrick walks by and in front of everyone in the store, he raises his voice and says something like, ""We don't need any help with sales, Thank you very much. Just sit down and let us handle it."" \r \r Patrick's wife, Suze Ann, later apologized for his actions. It's pretty bad when a family member can clearly see that you've been rude. Patrick has no right to talk to anyone that way especially if his sales people are not trained properly to even match up products with a client's interest. How can you really get what you need? I like the other owner, Suze Ann. She is very knowledgeable and respectful. But it's clear (in my opinion/experience) that their core strength is sports bikes and sport bike gear. After that day, I left and took my business elsewhere and the ironic thing is I own sports bikes and cruisers now. more

Great place! 2/22/2012

Great place! I'm a noob and the first time I went there about a month ago they patiently answered every question I had, even though they did not have a bike suitable for my skill level. I brought a potential bike by to be checked out and they were thorough amd very informative. After I purchased the bike from the private seller they took care of several maintenance issues with the bike. I did some comparison shopping later and their pricing was in line or cheaper than a few other shops I had called. They are pretty busy sometimes but if you are patient they are worth it. I'll be back! more

Best Motorcycle Shop In Houston! 8/26/2011

Great shop! The first time I went there I brought them my GSXR after having it at 2 different shops that could not fix the problem it was having. I took it to Motorcycles Unlimited and within 2 hours they had it fixed and running. The best part was their pricing was very fair and they made me aware of other issues I needed to watch out for down the line. I've been there 3 times since then and every time they've done a great job at fair prices. I highly recommend them to all of my friends who own motorcycles. more

Great Shop! 4/28/2008

I've heard many great things about these guys from other riders, and went in this Saturday to check them out.\r Although they were very busy, they fit me in for a front tire change.\r I had brought my own tire in, but after comparing tire prices I found I could have actually saved a couple of bucks buying it from them. \r \r The tech was efficient and thorough, he even took the time to lube and adjust my chain at no charge and to point out some upcoming wear issues.\r \r Even though I told them I wouldn't be buying it that day, they also took the time to properly fit me up in a helmet.\r \r While I was there I witnessed the staff time and again assist customers professionally, even recommending to one customer to NOT buy something because it doesn't work! You don't see that kind of ethics / honesty often anymore. \r \r I'll definitely be back, A1 service! Pros: Direct, no nonsense professional motorcycle service! more

Solid Performance Work 4/10/2008

Smaller shop, very busy. Does great work. I have recommended them more than once and they have always taken care of business. Tuned my bike right the first time. They don't have a lot of time to chit chat but the work has been solid. These guys race on the weekends and they know what works. This place is for people who ride and want performance. I have owned more than 30 bikes and been riding since 5 (over 40 years) Gone through a lot of shops and there are not many I have gone back to twice. I return to these guys when I need more advanced work than I am capable of. Probably not the place for someone who needs more chrome on some highway couch......... Pros: Racing experiance Cons: small shop more

Horrible Customer Service 1/9/2007

Unless you are buying something they don't even want to talk to you. Even if you are buying something, they are very rude and act like you are bothering them or wasting their time. That goes for everyone from the owner, Patrick, on down to the clerk at the front desk. \r \r The mechanics aren't very good either. I had them put new exhaust pipes on my cruiser and after bringing it back several times, they never could get it right. I called back a few months later on a Monday and Patrick couldn't even tell me what brand of jet kit they put on my bike. He then proceeded to tell me that it was his ""day off"" and that he shouldn't even be helping me since I was having someone else work on my bike. I'm sorry but his shop is too far from my house...not like I would ever go back there again anyway. When I told him that comment wasn't necessary, he hung up on me. Is that how a business owner should treat his customers??? Wow is all I could say. \r \r What now? I high recommend Grand Prix Motoring on Richmond Ave. They always have a great selection of bikes at a great price and they follow it up with great service. Evan and the entire crew are very knowledgeable and courteous and they love to talk about bikes. They are true motorcycle enthusiast. Thanks for everything you have done for me Evan!!!
