I saw online that Motion in time has a large selection of watches so I started looking into a watch for myself which took about 2 hours, I found a watch that i liked and was curious to know how to go about purchasing and to see if everything is legit, I read up about them and saw their feedback online I felt that i could trust them, I went ahead and purchased the watch and they had shipped it to me overnight, before I had the chance to call them in the morning to find out where my watch was ups was at the door with the package, thank you guys for helping me and making this purchase go smooth, I now 100 percent trust motion in time. they are my new watch people. more

100 percent on Customer service 2/15/2012

I was speaking to a gentleman named Ariel at Motion in Time, going back and forth with him for about a week about a watch I wanted for myself , Finally he suggested a watch to me that not many people have because of it's availability, I asked him to email me some photos so I can actually see live pictures of the watch rather than a site that have 1 stock photo. I received pictures of almost every angle of the watch Including the box etc.. I had no other words but to say this watch is beautiful, After negotiating the price we made a deal including shipping and had the watch shipped to me insured, I received my watch this morning and it was perfect as described and shown through photos, This person I dealt with and his staff are very honest and reliable I will definitely recommend all my friends and family to them. If anyone needs a watch visit this store. more

Any watch you want 1/5/2012

Although the inside of the store is nothing special, their watch collection is very impressive. They have numerous hard to find watches. I purchased a hard to find watch at this store. Although it didn't come with papers or a box, it was an authentic rolex as I have had it confirmed by a rolex dealer. I was very pleased with the manner in which the deal was done. I would reccomend this place to anyone who knows what they are doing. more

Great shop Respectful people 12/28/2011

I was shopping the Diamond District for a Christmas gift as everyone knows 47st is the place to go, after walking in a few stores I finally stopped and stayed in Motion in time I was shocked in the variety of watches I saw, from any price range so I knew this is the shop for me, I got such a beautiful watch for my wife just a few days before Christmas without any hassle or crazy bargaining the brothers Ariel/Boris just made a valuable customer. My wife loves the watch very much thank you guys, I will definitely send my family and friends to you guys. The best people!! Happy holidays more

High $$$ Deal as Smooth as Silk!! 12/21/2011

I am a long time watch collector and I have been eyeing a VERY expensive Breguet for several years. I saw that Motion In Time had the watch and the asking price was approx 25% below retail. I emailed and asked if they would take partial trade and sent a list of several watches I was hoping to trade. I was pleasantly surprised at the trade in value I was offered. I was ready to make the deal - but how to do the transaction? I had spoken to Boris at MIT several times and he said all of the right things, but I was still nervous about shipping almost 100K in watches. I thought about flying to NY, but honestly, I didn't have the time and I didn't want to pay sales tax which i would have had to if I had done the deal in person. I asked Boris how people moved items of this value around the country and he recommended Ferrari Express - I had never heard of them either! But they checked out so I held my breath and took the plunge. My watches made it to NY and Boris noted 1 discrepancy in my description. He was right about what he said, and the final trade in value was within 4% of what he promised. At this point, I had to wire him the difference. I was pretty nervous at this point. He already had my watches, and he was about to have my money too! At this point I had nothing but his word! I wired the money and Boris shipped the Breguet the same day. It arrived via Ferrari Express the next day in absolutely perfect shape. I love the watch and at the end of the day, I got a very good deal. Boris was always VERY professional and accessible. Never once was I told he was unavailable. Never once did he become impatient. We probably talked/emailed 30 times over the 5 day period during the deal - which I think is reasonable for the dollar value of the deal. Before I decided to go with Motion In Time, I read every review on this site, and I take issue with a few of them. One complaint is that MIT is not an authorized dealer for the watches they sell. Ummm - to anyone who has been to the Jewelry District in NYC this will just make you laugh. They are correct, but I don't think there are any authorized dealers of anything sold in the Jewelry District. You shop in the Jewelry District to get the genuine articles at a steep discount. I shopped this watch at the Breguet boutique on 5th. No negotiating - period. If you want authorized dealers, be prepared to pay A LOT more for the same watch!! I also take great issue with those who claim that every review is posted via fake accounts through Motion In Time. I can say that mine is not! And the kind of service and professionalism that I received from Boris was very polished. I am certain that this is representative of how he treats his customers. And treating customers this way precipitates great reviews - its as simple as that! I decided that if the deal for my Breguet went through the way I hoped - in this age of phishing, scamming etc., I would write this well deserved review and it has been my pleasure to do so. You can buy high end watches from MIT with confidence - I did, and the deal was as smooth as silk!! more

Caution, do your diligence thoroughly 9/7/2011

I'd caution anyone thinking about buying a watch from MiT. A brief look at its reviews and overall score on Citysearch would indicate that this store is reputable, but I would urge you to read the negative reviews carefully and to question the authenticity of the positive reviews, i.e. weird distribution with all reviews either 5 stars or 1 star and basically nothing in between, and a general theme of focusing on the store owner's honesty and friendliness in the positive reviews (which from my recent experience I observed neither). After paying a visit to MiT, I tried to pull up some other online research on MiT and found some negative feedback on WatchNet, which is a forum for watch enthusiasts. What I also discovered is that MiT is not an authorized dealer of the watches they sell, they are a known grey-market dealer. Not that there is anything necessarily wrong with acquiring watches from the grey-market as there are some sellers who do in fact sell authentic and new watches (though generally without manufacturer's warranty - a quick google search on grey-market watches should provide some more info on this subject). The problem is that there are some grey-market sellers who will sell a refurbished watch or a watch with a warranty that is ""stale"" (see reviews from 'whoshe' and 'Lovetobeme') and claim that it is new. I suspect MiT falls into the latter category based on the negative feedback I've read and my experience. I wouldn't be surprised if MiT created a bunch of fake Citysearch accounts to prop themselves up with false reviews because there is no way that this place deserves the type of praise they've been given. For example, one review mentions MiT as an ""IT STORE"" which couldn't be further from the truth. The store is a bare bones 12x12 foot space in the jewelry district that has a dingy feel to it. If you want to see an ""IT STORE"" you should go see the Tourneau flagship store on 57th Street or the Wempe store on 5th Ave. As for Boris' friendliness, that was certainly non-existent during my experience. I had asked if the watch I was interested in came with all the manufacturer's authenticity papers and warranty, and if so, whether I could see them. Boris refused to show them to me, and said that I could only see them after negotiating a price, and he actually got a bit defensive about the whole thing. I don't think my request was unreasonable, as I think any customer should be able to see exactly what they are getting before committing to a price (how else can you assign value to something if you can't see it!). Anyway, I walked away because my gut feeling was that the watch I was looking at was not in fact new (having looked at the leather strap, some of the holes that hold the deployment clasp appeared more worn than they should and the leather itself creased in some areas) and that the warranty was either (i) a stale one, or (ii) had serial numbers that did not match the ones on the watch. Bottom line, do your research and try to avoid this store. If you feel compelled to buy from MiT, I'd recommend you go with someone who knows watches well and can advise you. more

Honest & Helpful, Made a great pruchase 9/5/2011

A few weeks ago I was in the market to purchase a watch as an engagement gift for my son in law and I was told to only go to Boris from Motion in Time by a few friends of mine. They are watch enthusiasts, unlike me, and knew that since I was spending a hefty amount of money ($30k+) on a watch I should see the best. After reading a few different reviews online I was hesitant to contact the so called ""IT STORE"" for watches. I read a number of reviews online and although they were mostly good I did not feel 100% confident in my friends referral. I went to Yelp and read my final review from ""Nathan A."" who said that he would not recommend Motion in Time to anyone. I gave the store the benefit of the doubt and gave it a shot. I came to Midtown to see Boris and was greeted like a gentleman. I do not know if it because he knew who sent me or not, but I quickly had a good feeling about him and his store. After about an hour of him literally teaching me about all there is to know about watches and the market for watches, he helped me decide on THE watch for my future son in law. It was a stunning Patek Philippe that was apparently impossible to get anywhere. He explained that Patek was having a price increase in about a month and that it is a solid purchase. I took his advise and made the purchase. After all was said and done, I asked him about the mixed reviews that I read online and he simply explained that it is ""impossible to make everyone happy."" And though it is unfortunate that many of his clients are not computer savvy or do not care for online reviews I told him that I would let the public know of my unbelievable experience at his store. I think that Boris and his family at Motion in Time, are experts in the field of watches. Not only would I recommend them to anyone that is looking to purchase a fine timepiece, but I would guarantee that they will probably have what others wouldn't and would give the best possible price they can to close the deal. They definitely made a fine impression on me. To top off this wonderful experience, I called a few other watch dealers after making the purchase to see if Boris was 100% honest with me and they ALL told me that the watch that I purchased is back ordered for months and that no one in there right minds would sell it at a discount. Boris, It was a pleasure working with you and my son in law loved his watch. He told me that one word came to mind when he opened the box - PERFECT. Motion in Time, Inc. - A+++++ in my book. more
