I didn't think that I could refinance my house, due to many complicating factors, and was resigned to sticking it out. Darren thought he could help, and he just dug into it, ironing out the wrinkles as he went. Darren and Samantha at Mortgage Loans NW are great! They are both very knowledgable and helpful! We used Darren 3 years ago for our original loan on our first home purchase and then again recently for our refinance. My husband and I would recommend them to anyone looking for an amazing mortgage broker! My husband works in a restaurant and doesn't have the easiest hours to work with but Darren took care of that for us and made it so easy meeting with us on a Saturday morning with our 3 year old in tow making a lot of noise and Darren wasn't even concerned, then got us a mobile notary for our signing so that we could do sign when and where it was convienent for us! We would defiantley use them again!!! more

Better late than never! I think the fact that it has been almost 3 years since we used Darren in financing our home and I am writing a review speaks volumes to Darren(and to my lazieness). We had a nightmare of a situation with Bank of America and switched over to Darren. We always felt informed and comfortalbe in dealing with Darren. Darren goes ABOVE & BEYOND what most other brokers will do! My wife and I were in a competitive situation with the purchase of our new house. His professionalism and great communication made the difference in the sellers decision to choose us. If it weren't for him going out of his way, doing little things that other brokers wouldn't do...my wife and I might not be in our new home. I can't THANK him enough. We just went through the re-fi from hell...starting with a badly done inspection, there were constant hang-ups...NONE OF THEM Mortgage Loans NW's fault. Through it all Darren was patient and worked tirelessly to push our loan through. I can't imagine he made a penny on us for all the time it took him! Darren is honest and fair, smart, knowledgeable, and was a pleasure to work with. I would recommend him without reservation! more

My husband used Darren when he bought his first home in Oregon and suggested we go with him again. After my last refi experience with a Mortgage person I trusted, I had a totally negative view of mortgage brokers- thinking they are all out to just make as much money as they can with no concern for the clients. I had trusted this person & feel I had been totally screwed over. That was the LAST Mortgage person I worked with. Now enter Darren- he's friendly, he's smart, he's knowledgeable, he is patient about answering questions, he's simply just amazing. Really- I am SO happy we went with him and would not hesitate to use him again. On the last day (today!) when we were trying to get the sale of our home funded and the purchase of our new home funded in the same day (worked out this day because of the buyers of our current house), he went above and beyond to do everything he could to get it through- in the end, it went through! You can just forget about any other mortgage broker in the PDX area. Darren goes against all of the stereotypes you have ever heard about those shady mortgage brokers. Darren worked with me and my lousy credit to not only get me a refi loan...But, he got me a refi loan and then found a better one that had a .5% less interest rate than the one we were approved for. My wife and I ran up a decent amount of credit card debt and when the rates went down, we decided to refinance our home and pay off the credit cards with the equity our house had earned. I'm on tour with a show and I use the address of our home office in NYC to get the mail forwarded to me...Well, this became a red flag to the lender and denied us a loan. Darren went and fought for us and got the loan reinstated. Then I didn't hear from Darren for a few days and I called him to see how things were going. He then told me he was working on another loan that was a half of a percentage point less than the one he fought to get reinstated for us...So, instead of settling on a loan just because our credit was kinda lousy, he found an even better deal and we have never been happier and less stressed out about our finances. We have our credit cards all paid off and our credit score just continues to increase each month. We had enough money to take an extended Christmas weekend trip to NYC and bought my wife a much needed new computer....All of this bundled into a loan which is actually less per month than out former mortgage payment.....\r \r You will never do business with any mortgage broker better than Darren Balogh. He will work with you if you have great credit or crappy credit. He will give you his undivided attention and make you feel no matter what your situation, that you will get a loan. I can't say enough about Darren...he definitely made a big change in our life for the better and I can't thank him enough....If he is reading this...I want to say, ""THANK YOU DARREN!!!"" These guys were so fast and so pleasant to work with. We were originally going through Hart West for a mortgage loan and two days before closing, they told us they couldn't provide us with a loan despite our great credit and low loan to value ratio. Obviously we were in a jam and stressed out after having to extend our closing date and move up our moving date. Someone recommended Mortgage Loans NW and even though we were super skeptical and weary from our last experience, they were really nice, answered phone calls and emails, updated us about everything, and processed our loan in 5 days. I would totally recommend them. Pros: Close to home, Excellent service, Super fast delivery Cons: charge the usual 1% broker fees plus application fee more
