This company has some issues. The moment you walk in the door you feel like a King/Queen and the free soda and cookies will blind you like a gambler in vegas with a shot of tequil...

This company has some issues. The moment you walk in the door you feel like a King/Queen and the free soda and cookies will blind you like a gambler in vegas with a shot of tequila. My story is I purchased a bed that has taken way longer than the sales person told me it would be delivered. We did receive our dining room table much faster than they said it would take but they were missing some components. They tried to redeliver the missing parts and brought me the wrong parts once, twice, three times, we are now going on our forth possibly fifth time they have tried to fix this. They offered me 20% off my next item to make me feel better but you better believe I will never shop here again and take my advice pay the extra cash and go to somewhere that gives better overall service. more

MOR Furniture - TOXIC Fabric - Fibers 3/23/2011

Summary: \r \r Sells Defective Merchandise. \r Sells Merchandise that may be Hazardous to Human Health. \r Fails to Communicate to Customers after Reporting Problems. \r Fails to Remedy even Serious Issues with Merchandise. \r \r Details: \r \r I purchased a love seat/double recliner at the MOR store in Bakersfield California and recently contacted the company regarding the disintegration of the threads in the fabric after zero use. \r \r The fabric that separates the Corduroy like-raised pile is disintegrating into almost airborne size particles which could be hazardous if inhaled. The larger particles are sharp enough to puncture the skin. \r \r I sent an email to MOR and contacted the San Diego office by phone on 3/9 and spoke to a Representative named ""Oscar"" who asked me to send photos and said he would follow-up upon receiving them. \r \r No follow up from Oscar by phone or email. I sent another email on on 3/14 with no response. I called MOR in San Diego on 3/18 and spoke to a person by the name of ""Hyman"" who claimed to be a supervisor. He looked over the pictures and emails sent to Oscar and decided he would call the GM at the Bakersfield store and see what they wanted to do rather than making a decision at the corporate level. I received a call back from Hyman Stating that because the furniture was sold ""AS-IS"" MOR is declining to credit, exchange, or refund. \r \r So, my advice, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING from this company. They will eventually be driven out of business like customers finally did to Levitz Furniture after years of consumer abuse. \r \r I plan to send the photos and the story to the proper State and Federal agencies e.g. Consumer Protection, etc. for them to follow up. First of all, let me said that I was skeptical about doing business with Mor especially after reading your reviews.\r However, my girlfriend had bought a kitchen table from Mors and she didn't have any problems. My son and I went to Mors. We were greeted as we came into the door and a few minutes later a man name James came over to help us. He was fantastic , he didn't pressure us, he asks us if we wanted some refreshments just a real nice guys. I really like that he came back to check on us not asking any questions just looking to see if we had any questions. I like that because some stores really pressure you but James was the best . My son and I stayed for a couple of hours looking at furniture and I decided to buy a table. However, my son was undecided, but he came back the next day and saw James again and he ask about me (i thought that was nice to remember your customers ) James check us out and I told him that I was skeptical about coming to Mors because the company had a bad rap. He didn't denied it but instead embrace the negatively and stated that they try to do their best. I told him that I would like to have my furniture deliver the day he promise and if I didn't I was going to write a very bad review. We laugh, and my son and I left. A couple of days later Mors call me 3 times but I kept missing their calls. I return the call and the lady told me that they would be at my house between 12-4 PM. Do you know what time they got there? Well, let me tell you 12:00 on the dot. I was shock and they were so nice. In addition, a lady call me afterwards to s ee how the delivery went, and I told her fabulous the only complaint I had was that my son went back and bought a couch and the delievery charge was $150.00 and she told me that was because the furniture was going to diferent rooms. I explained to her that the furniture was going to the same house and I thought the delivery charge was extremely high. She stated that she couldn't do anything about the fee, and she thank me and told me to have a nice day! I know your complains are valid maybe they are under new management or something but we are very happy with the service we received .Therefore, I would like to award "" The Way to go Award"" Mor Furniture and keep up the good work. more

My salesman never returned my calls, so after 3 days I went to the store. After about 30 minutes of getting the run around, I finally explained the situation to the sales manager. He basically called me a liar. Finally after checking with his employees a refund was going to be issued in 10 to 15 days. So we will see. \r \r 3. You could not get me to step foot inside this store again enen if everything was on sale for a penny. Worst retail experience of my life. \r \r Round 1: In March 2007 two hillbillies delivered a dirty couch and couldn't fit it in our door (they didn't even measure first). On top of that, they were swearing and demanding our help in carrying it...remind me why I paid $80 for delivery??\r \r Round 2: We went and picked out a different couch that they were sure would fit. We paid for the first couch with our check card and they wouldn't let us have store credit toward the new couch (are they crazy?) Instead they had to issue a refund which we were promised would be back in our bank account within 3-5 business days (if they tell you it takes longer, they are lying...I got to the bottom of it when I got in touch with their accounting department). They forgot to put in the request, so I had to spend hours on the phone explaining what had happened to ensure we got our refund. On top of that, they were extremely rude and inconsiderate.\r \r Round 3: They attempted to deliver our new couch in April 2007. Not only did they forget to measure before halling it up 4 flights of stairs, but after it didn't fit they caused $900 worth of damage to the walls in the stairwell of the condo building and we had to pay for it! When confronting them about the damage (we took pictures and had a copy of the invoice), they transferred us around to different people and refused to deal with the situation.\r \r Now: We are taking them to small claims since they refused to pay for the damages they caused. Not only do we have no couch, we are out amost $1000 because of them.\r \r It's funny b/c they called themseleves the ""Costco"" of furniture stores...if only they could treat their customers like Costco does... more
