We Love Momotaro! 12/6/2010

My wife and I have been eating at Momotaro for 5 months, we go every weekend to be served by the wonderful chef Don. Chef Don is fantastic, anyone that visits momotaro should sit at the sushi bar when he is working, he is fun and makes the whole thing very cheerful, and I like how he makes his rolls the best! I always order the Lobster Roll first, it is my favorite, next I get the Bloody Mary Roll, followed by the Godzilla roll. Those are my three favorite rolls they have, and I get them every week. MMM I can taste it in my mouth now! more

BEST SUSHI - FAT ROLLS - FULFILLING 7/19/2009

This is my absolute favorite sushi place - even my favorite restaurant in California. Every roll ordered has been delicious and fulfilling as each bit is stuffed with ingredients. I couldn't believe how big the rolls were when I first went. The lobster roll is stacked and is the most heavenly meal I've had. The banana tempura desert, the green tea milk shake, the salads...all has been perfect. Service - amazing. I couldn't be happier with any sushi session. Number 1 on my list. more

good sushi but their combo boxes are very good. 7/30/2008

The sushi at this place is good but not great, but their combo boxes are very good. I have had their teriyaki, tempura and the teriyaki is very good. They also give you enough for at least 2 meals. Pros: good teriyaki and tempura Cons: parking is somewhat tight more

Good. 2/1/2007

Momotaro's not my favorite sushi bar but it's good. The service is good and the place is clean. But there is a big difference between chefs on quantity and quality of presentation. Beware the owners son. (He's the tall center chef.) Reminds me of when the owner of a Baskin-Robbins serves you, very small scoops. But the fish is fresh. That's important since we generally eat sashimi and nigiri. Pluses are a big parking lot and fast seating. The owners are Korean and this lends itself to slight differences in sushi. Spicy is spicier than at a strict Japanese bar. But I do eat here often as it is close to work and home and the staff is nice. Pros: NIce staff, good parking Cons: Portions vary among chefs. more

Great sushi, service and prices! 1/12/2007

I drive by this restaurant almost everyday and one day had a hankering for sushi and decided to stop in. I was very glad tha tI did. The service was great! The staff was friendly and prompt. My drink didn't run empty my entire visit. I ordered both sushi and something off the menu and was pleased. The portions were so big that I had leftovers to take home (that doesn't happen often in a sushi restaurant). I would definitely recommend this place. Pros: Lots of parking and easy on the pocket book. Cons: The chairs are bigger than the table so it makes seating a bit odd. more

Not bad for the price 8/27/2006

They use to have the "All you can eat Sushi" for about $30 - that's gone now - bummer. Their new deal is "half-price sushi" but only on some of the lesser rolls and pieces. The nice rolls (such as Dragon, Rainbow, Catapillar, etc) are still a bit pricey (ranging from $8 to $15 per roll). However, the stuff on the half-price list (basic rolls and pieces such as Tuna, salmon, yellowtail, etc) are OK in taste and price - ranging from $3.50 to $8 each roll. I like the place for its prices. Food quality is average - quick-fix sushi rolls. For example, if you try the dragon roll, watch for the eel to still contain the spine-like bones - most other places I go to pull them completely - Momotoro leaves a number of the small ones in. Not to my liking. Not bad all tolled though. Pros: cheaper than average prices, good parking, usually a seat open Cons: average food quality more

The worst experience 8/6/2005

I truly couldn't believe the other positive reviews - my friends & I had the worst experience. The food was mediocre, the decor was a little tacky, & service was just horrible. Though it wasn't crowded, we waited a long time for our food, & then they didn't serve all 4 of us at the same time. They forgot to bring the entree for 1 person in my party, so that person had to wait for 20 more minutes while the rest of us were awkwardly eating. They didn't even apologize for the mistake & then refused to make up for it. We kept complaining, and they finally offered a free appetizer - and still no apology. I will never go back. Pros: never crowded Cons: unfriendly, slow service, bland decor more
