Modesto Vacuum & Sewing Center Inc

I take my machines to Modesto Vacuum and Sewing Center always. I've taken them to the other guy before and was not at all pleased with the results. There hasn't been one time that I have taken my vacuum or sewing machine into Gary that he couldn't fix. (Sometimes while I was still there). I think that loving life is just fixating on the one experience she had there. I don't know, I think she should really start loving life and quit being so obsessed with Gary. Get on with your life and ""Really start loving life"".....I highly recommend people take their vacuum or sewing machine to Modesto Vacuum & Sewing Center, the results are wonderful.... i do custom auto upholstery for a living.i took my upholstery machine in to have it serviced.when i got it home and removed the plastic that had been wrapped around it .it was clearly a different machine.same brand but had some serious wear on it,so i flipped it over and checked for my drivers lic.number i had carved into the main body in an inconspicuous place,it wasnt there,some of the parts from my machine had been transferred to this one but since it was an older model they didnt fit right..i was devistated .every job i do now is more time consuming and frustraighting because this machine has alot of problems...my upholstery machine means everything and is how i provide for my family this has been one of the worst experiences i have ever had...hard to believe one trip to modesto vac & sewing center can continue to be a never ending nightmare that seems to get worse with every job i try to do,.that machine is my bread and butter,i wish i could go back so i never stepped foot in this store..i miss my very nice ,shiny machine that didnt have a scratch on it and ran like a top....by the way i noticed one of mr.edwards ""good"" reviews was written by his wife colleen...doesnt surprize me Cons: where do i start more

i cant even begin to describe the awful experience i had with this business. i took my upholstery machine in to be serviced,when i got it back it was an older more worn out model. it was instantly obvious when i removed the plastic covering that it was not my machine.i was so devistated.this is how i provide for my family.the older machine gives me alot of problems and frustraights me on a dailey basis. i did take it back and all i got was verbal abuse .hard to believe an incident like this could be considered life changing ,but that machine was my families bread and butter and the one i have now makes every upholstery job i do unbearably harder....when reading these reviews please carefully check the name on the good reviews ,looks like his wife has written some of them posing as a happy customer her name is colleen edwards more

Rude customer service, wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. If you found out something wrong with the product you purchased on the same day you bought it, there are no refunds, everthing is FINAL SALES. Even if Gary and Coleen (owners) sold you a broken sewing machine etc... there is NO REFUNDS. Cons: Anything sold here, there is always a catch to it. more

Gary Edwards is a VERY DISHONEST man, very Unprofessional, Childish, VERY GREEDY and Short Temper. He sold us some used parts for a sewing machine and tricked us that it was the right one for our machine and tricked to us that it was new. Anyone could tell that the product was used, the bag was torn open and very old, the manuel inside had pencil marks of drawing in it and the product was all sratched up and worn out. Gary, (owner) over charged me for some used products. He only displayed some newer products out so that you will think everything is new, but its not. Pros: Nothing is good! Cons: Gary Edwards (owner) sells used products for full price! more

I love this shop, The owner Gary and his wife Colleen are the best. I bought two sewing machines from them and a large selection of thread and what-nots.. I take my machines back for service. he is always friendly and very helpful... I have recommended several people to him. He treats them all very well, He is knowledgeable about all machines... he will always have my business. He is loyal to his customers, and both go out of their way to please you and help in any way.... more

This owner Gary, is a crock. He is dishonest. He told me the serger machine i bought from that store was owned by a lady friend/customer of his and that the machine was 2 yrs old. When I took it home, I went online to see all about it. it was 18 yrs. old and barely ran, motor feeling very worn out, so I took the machine right back, within 24 hours. He screamed at me in front of other customers walking around. I have driven there 3 dasys in a row..theres always an excuse why I havent gotten my money back from this imaginary friend he calls Mrs. Birmane...anyways beware, he is not a person id like to get stuck with anywhere or anytime; more

I went to have my 15 year old vacuum serviced and I walked out with a new vacuum and a new attidude on cleaning day. Since moving to the valley and near all of the almond orchards I need to keep ahead of all that dust and dirt that gets stirred up from the wind, harvesting etc. I had a wonderful experience shopping in the store and discussing which vacuum was best for my needs. Mr. Edwards, Gary was wonderful, professional and understanding. I just love my old vacuum and now I love my new vacuum and I look forward to Mondays as Monday is vacuum day. I would also like to say, my cousin was visiting from Minnesota and she had said she was looking for a sewing machine. Well I brought her to Modesto Vacuum and Sewing and she bought her fancy sewing machine from there as well. She stays in touch with them through email when ever she has any questions or just wants to share pictures of the things she has made on her fancy sewing machine for her friends and family. Their prices are great and their service is wonderful! I would highly recommend Modesto Vacuum and Sewing. Oh by the way that old vacuum that I love, it's still in the family. I am so pleased with the customer service I recieve every time I have taken my vacuums for repair. I have 3 vacuum cleaners, 2 for home and one for the office. I bought all 3 of them from Modesto Vacuum & Sewing. Their prices are excellent and their service is even better! On occassion my vacuums need cleaning and or servicing. The turn around time is always quick just as promised and always with a smile! The professional courtesy extended to me in any business is what keeps me as a repeat customer. Both Mr. and Mrs Edwards have great work ethics and make me feel like a special customer on every visit and that is one of the key ingredients to customer satisfaction. Mr Edwards is knowledgeable about his products and his repairs. I would highly recommend Modesto Vacuum and Sewing, in fact I always do every opportunity that comes my way! My experience at Modesto Vacuum and Sewing Center was great! I had gone to two other places. One place told me that they had serviced my sewing machine--but nothing was done. It took two weeks and it still wasn't working. I still had to pay for it to get it out of that store. I told Mr. Edwards of my experience and he took my machine and looked at it right now. He told me that it wasn't serviced and it required a part. He really took care of me and he didn't charge me a cent. Now I can sew! Pros: Quick Turnaround--professional service more

Our experience with Modesto Sewing and Vacuum was awful in every way. The service/repair that was supposed to be done to our sewing machines was faulty. 1. Neither sewing machine worked when I brought it home. On one the needle was put in backwards and the tension adjusted so tightly that the thread couldn't slide through. The other wouldn't form a complete stitch. 2. Both smelled like car engine cleaning solvent (sewing machine oil does NOT smell like this) 3. He was rude and unprofessional when I asked him to look at the machines again, (responded by saying ""that's all you're gonna get from me"" when I asked him to look again). He yelled and was offensive in front of my child. By the time I was done getting my sewing machine from his shop, my 5 year old daughter was covering her ears, crying in a corner of the store because she was afraid of this man. I left as soon as I could get the machine and get her out of there. Pros: None, unfortunately it is on a main street Cons: unprofessional, service was awful, rude and intimidating more
