Still waiting for refund 1/9/2012

Moad took over a MONTH to replace an air compressor that caused our heat and AC not to work during Sept and Oct. During that time we dealt with the following: lies, phone calls not returned, phones not being answered/no answering machine, multiple appointments that nobody showed up for, appointments that they were hours later for, etc. I never had a problem with the actual work that was done by the technician, but the disorganization was astounding. I acted as reasonably as I could, being firm without being rude. The owner promised me a refund back in October of 2011 to ""make it right"". In November, I called and asked the receptionist when I would be getting a refund. She took my info, promised to look into it, and never called back. In December, I called the owner directly and he promised to send the refund right away. In January 2012, I called again to ask why he never sent the refund and he told me I had to call the office. I left a message the same day with the office and never heard back. The next week, I spoke to the office person and she said that she got my message, but since she couldn't find my paperwork she chose to ignore the message. I gave her more information to help her locate the paperwork; she hung up on me. I called back and this time someone else answered. He had me repeat all of my information and put me on hold, then told me he couldn't find the paperwork. I suggested he just MAIL THE CHECK. He was baffled. I suggested he call Mark, the owner who had promised the refund. Again, he seemed dumbfounded. So I called Mark and once again, he promised to take care of it immediately. Obviously a $60 refund does not even come close to making any of this right. Unfortunately, consumers don't have much recourse other than sharing our experiences. Please learn from my experience and don't ever hire this company. more

terrible customer service 11/15/2011

Have a home warranty through American Home Shield. Oven door was always a little lose and after one to many not cooked right meatloafs we decided to take advantage of the warranty. Called them and they sent a tech from Moads Services. They called and set up a time. The tech was on time and courteous. he checked the door and told me that it was going to need hinges. He would call the warranty company and tell them the situation and then we could set up a time to get them fixed. The home warranty company called the next morning stating that our claim would be denied. The tech informed them that the reason for the need for hinges was because the kids were using it as a diving board. Nevermind the fact that it had a childlock on it. Not to mention, 1 of them wasn't crawling and the other had just started walking. Good luck complaining to them though. That was the OWNER that told the warranty company that. And it gets better! Washing machine was backing up into our toilet. Obviously, that's a clog or a break. Called home warranty and out comes a plumber from Moads. Answer the door to find he has a hammer and wrench in his hands. Comes in and immediately asks to use the bathroom. After that he comes down and we look into the problem. I had already taken off the toilet and ran a 40' snake down the pipe. I'm not a plumber, what do i know? He runs a little water from the sink, pipe starts to back up. Takes a plunger and starts plunging. He goes to his truck and gets his plunger, gives it heII for a few minutes and comes to the conclusion that it's clogged or broken. No kidding. So he tells me that he'll inform the warranty and we'll go from there. warranty company calls in the morning. DENIED. The reason?? Plumber told them that the pipe is broken. The cause? The Earth moved. Somehow he came to that conclusion with a plunger!! Moads is a terrible service. Would never recommend them to anyone. I'm telling everyone I know to stay away from them. more

Terrible Customer Service 9/28/2011

Through my home warranty, Moad Services was the contractor sent to my house to diagnose the problem with my ceiling fan light. The service technician was friendly and very helpful; unfortunately, that's where the good service ended. He took the cap part of my light to see if it could be fixed or replaced. I rec'd a call a few days later from the home warranty company that they would not cover the price to fix or replace my light. more

Great Service is hard to find! 6/16/2011

I have been using Moad Services for a little over a year and have always been pleased with their work. In the 3 times I've used them I have met 2 of their service technicians. Both were knowledgeable and very helpful, even with all the questions I had! The one technician stayed outside in the pouring rain to fix my AC unit. I have recommended them to others and will definitely use them again! more

Worst Service Ever 12/17/2010

This was absolutely the worst service ever. After waiting 3+ weeks for them to get back to me regarding a part they had to order for my refrigerator and multiple phone calls asking for an update being unreturned, they have the nerve to say I'm rude because I called to complain about the fact that my refrigerator is STILL not working. I don't have another 3 weeks to wait for them to try and get it right. If you have a home warranty and they tell you they're sending Moad, tell them NO. These people were beyond unprofessional. Absolutely ridiculous!!!! more
