Mixx at Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa

Two days ago I celebrated my birthday at MIXX, I brought in 24 people on the guest list which means all the guys paid $20 and the ladies came in for free. 10 of us got bottle service and were taken to the "VIP" AREA which is just a bunch of couches on the second floor without any privacy. First of all the prices on their website for bottle service are no the actual prices they have on their menu. We paid for 2 bottles of some nasty vodka, not even goose, $340 per bottle. That was fine, we just wanted to have fun. Second, the whole point of having VIP is to have a place to sit with your friends, feel SAFE, and be able to leave your purse on the couch while dancing. All the girls did that around me so I didn't worry about it. I danced the whole time within 3 feet of my bag anyway.The place emptied at about 3am, we were leaving at 4am to get picked up by our limo. That's when I discovered that my purse was open and my cash and my iphone was missing. When we alerted the staff, they actually told us to leave because they needed to clean! My fiance went straight to the Borgata security who actually accused me of throwing napkins over the rail, which I didnt do and wasnt even by the rail. Then one of them asked me if my fiance robbed me. Can you believe that? They actually don't have security cameras in the VIP area so if anything happens there it's absolutely your word against theirs. Needless to say, someone has been making phone calls from my phone after we left the club. It is probably one of the staff, and there is nothing that they are going to do about it. I brought them business and they robbed me then accused me of stupid things. I realize that this is just a bad experience, so I gave them two stars because the music was good and the party organizing staff was excellent and accommodating. The previous review pretty much sums this place up, pretentious. BUT also FULL of meatheads. SO, if you're a meathead and enjoy horrible michael jackson remixes...then THIS is your place. Don't get me wrong, I'm not one to go to clubs that often (more of a t-shirt and jeans, dive bar kind of guy), but I do enjoy the occasional night out dancing (and drinking!). I love going to Tiki Bob's in Phila and the clubs in Vegas are second to none. However...this place was no fun at all. Within 5 minutes of being there I think at least 5 people just walked into me like I wasnt even there. We paid WAY to much to get in and didnt even stay for more than an hour...thats how bad it was. I actually attended a private party at this (so called) club. It actually reminds me of a club from a cruise ship more then anything else. The one bite of food I had tasted like azz, the staff thinks they're all that (like this is some kind of trendy hip place or something---NOT!) As for the music the DJ was awful. In the entire time I was there no one even danced. The place is dirty too, they don't clean it very well. Basically, if you get your jollys watching fat old men hitting on skanks while eating foul food and kicking back overpriced watered down drinks this is the club for you! The atmosphere is overwhelming and exhiliarating once you first step into the club however this feeling turns very quickly. The people surrounding are stuffy and ignorant and most are too drunk to stand. As a female, it's even worse because the women outnumber the men about 5 to 1. All are stuffed into the place to spot the 1 or 2 celebrity sightings seen on occasion. Finally, the bouncers and workers are all very pretentious and are completely rude to the guests. The entire place could go for some customer service training and recognize the importance of paying customers. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time at this club or the hotel. O.k first of all why would for a second think that a nightclub would be somewhere romantic? Where does it even suggest that it would the perfect place to romance your girl/boy? Then complain about it not being nice enough. The whole review made you sound completely stupid littlebird. Anyways, I loved it but a bit crowded but the people ( bartenders and bouncers ) are pretty nice and overall it was SUPER easy to get in. Oh and plus they have amazing drinks and sushi. LOVED IT. With Bobby Flay and Wolfgang Puck just around the corner, you would think that the fine restaurant choices at the Borgata are a plenty. Not so! Suilan is BY FAR the most exquisite of the Borgata's fine dining experiences! Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and plated. From the selection of appetizers that includes a perfect size of foie gras to the entrees that includes a remarkable combination of french and chinese prepared pork chops and bouillabaisseevery morsel was delicious! Perfect portions plus mouth-watering spices and flavors! Whether you're seated at the spaceous interior dining area or the ultra-cozy booths that surround the dining room, you will be treated with luxury and be extremely satisfied with dinner. **UPDATE - This restaurant no longer exists at the Borgata as of January 1, 2007. They were smart to get rid of it, the $1800 we spent for awful food and service still bothers me** Rude, lazy waiters and awful, truly awful food. Worst fine dining experience I have ever had. The maitre d' should be fired. We had a private room for a group of 18 people, ordered appetizers, entrees and desserts in addition to champagne. Nothing we had was memorable and everyone left food on their plate. Terrible cuts of meat, cold food, overcooked vegetables, tasteless and ordinary ala carte side dishes in addition to a non-existent ambience. I was the host of the dinner and was mortified. Notified the Director or Operations who did nothing. Susanna Foo should be ashamed of herself for putting her name on such an establishment.
