Misuraca, Vance, Dds - Misuraca Orthodontics

Be Warned; DO NOT GO TO THIS ORTHODONTIST!! We were warned by friends before we brought our daughter there for braces but didn't really believe they would be so bad. Our Mistake. As time went on it was almost impossible to get a convenient appointment and the wait times got longer and longer. None of that would have been horrible except for when we told them we had to move. Family issues forced us to move after about 8 months of treatments. We had financed the braces and were paying $250.00 a month. My wife called and spoke to the finance woman about 2 months before our move to see how they handled such things. The woman told us then that as long as our account was current at the time of our daughters final appointment with them that we were fine and no further money was due. Right before we actually left we received a bill for almost $1800.00!! I called and spoke to the woman again and she said the doctor decided that we owed him more money! Anything I asked her after that, including how we could go from a zero balance to owing $1800.00 was answered ""that was the doctors decision"" Very arrogant and uncaring, STAY AWAY!! Don't be fooled by the flashy billboards and ads, they are paid for with money they steal from their patients more

Dr. Misuraca and his staff are very personable! They made me feel at ease everytime I was in the office. I am so glad I got my braces at Misuraca Orthodontics because I love my smile and all the compliments that I get. more

Dr. Vance Misuraca hires a few really UNQUALIFIED nurses and let them do all the work. They (including him) do not tend to listen to the client and care about what the clients think (i.e. if we have a specific concern, he will just say "oh everything is perfect," and then joke your concern around and then disregard it). What is worse, one time one nurse even place braces at a wrong position and I suffered SO MUCH pain! They only fixed it after a week. Sometimes I had to wait for up to 40 minutes for my appointment. This place will do great for most. A perfectionist will not be very pleased with the outcome. The place is run like an assembly line and Dr. M basically does no hands on work. more

I have gotten treated at Misuraca Orthodontics before and I've referred atleast 4 of my friends to Dr. Misuraca. He and his staff make everything convenient and easy. His offices are very professional and has all up-to-date technology. New patient appointments are complimentary so I recommend that the public take that as their advantage if they are really thinking about orthodontic treatment. He has three different locations so it's convenient going to any one if there is something quick that I need done. As far as his treatment goes, its the best I've seen yet. Dr. Misuraca is the hands down the best Orthodontist in town. He cares about his patients! We were so impressed with the way he handled my son, that we now have him treating our daughter. Both of my children love Dr. Misuraca and his staff! more

Ok, so I've been in treatment with Dr. Vance for about 7 months. I saw him at my first visit and when I got my braces on....now he's hardly around. At one appointment I was waiting for him to check my braces, he went to he chair next to me to check that patient........well, the next thing you know he is raising his voice at his employee wanting to know WHY HE NEEDED TO SEE THIS PATIENT! I thought a "doctor" should see ALL PATIENTS (he never did come to me, the lady let me leave at that point). I've also been to another branch of his, I had to wait 35 minutes and when I walked passed what I assume to be his office he was on the phone with his feet proped on his desk! I was very upset beacuse I needed to get back to work. Anyway, I hope this helps someone in making their choice on who will do their braces. I wish I had a warning like this! I am an adult patient of Dr. Misuraca's and never see him in the office. I realize he doesn't need to be the one tightening or changing bands, but you would think he would at least be there to monitor his ever so changing staff. They have a high turnover! I have never had any complaints with any of his staff, it just changes frequently and I've only been a patient for less than a year. Pros: Convenient...has offices in Baton Rouge, Denham Springs & Prairieville...Easy to get appt. Cons: Waiting.... more
