I have been going to Ernie for years. He is the best, the salon is beautiful and classy and I have never been disappointed. I have blonde hair and get continuously complimented on how stunningly natural and healthy it looks. It 's not really nature it's Ernie, nature's gift to women. more

Mission Ten Eleven Salon offers everything you want in a salon: excellent customer service, consistently great results, a beautiful setting, non-ridiculous prices, and a friendly and attentive staff. Gillian does my color and I have gotten compliments on it ever since, which is not easy because I have a fair amount of grey to cover. Then I got my first Brazilian Blowout with Gabriella and, unfortunately I did not get the results I had hoped for. When I expressed my disappointment to her a bit later, she and salon owner Ernie worked with me to make the necessary adjustments at no additional cost to me. Now I am very happy with the results! And they have been nothing but kind and lovely to me ever since. I am a very satisfied client. more

I moved back to the Pasadena area about a year and a half ago from New York and was looking for a salon. I was initially referred to a nearby salon, but after reading reviews decided to go elsewhere. I found Mission Ten Eleven through reviews online and when I made my appointment I was paired with Gillian. She is GREAT! She always gives me a great cut and never tries to push her own vision for my hair on me (which I've definitely experienced before at other salons). She is super professional and knows what's she's doing when it comes to hair. I have crazy curly hair, which I always wear straight, and she always spends the time to blow dry my hair pin straight. Not only is the cut initially great, but it's always a cut that grows out really well. If you are looking for a new salon, or looking to make a switch, you should definitely go to Gillian. i met Gillian, my stylist, back when she was working at a nearby salon. she has always been a pro with my somewhat hard to manage hair. i have followed her to Mission Ten Eleven since last year. i really enjoy the vibe of this place - not as crowded as many others, very clean, hip, upscale without the attitude. (well it doesn't hurt that i live upstairs from the salon and can just walk downstairs) i have recommended many of my friends to come here as well. no strong up-selling of products, they do it the way you request while giving you good and respectful advice and overall just a great experience. i highly recommend the salon and Gillian! After many years of seeking the perfect color and cut, I finally found it. Gillian is a shear genius and colorist who demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of tone, hue, highlights, lowlights, texture and style. From my very first visit, I was ecstatic with the color and highlights and the brilliant texturized cut whose lines are so easy to work with. As if reading my mind, Gillian translated a specific red hue I found hard to describe into gorgeous hair color. Until Gillian, no other hair stylist could (and I've been to them all). I was amazed at how effortlessly she nailed it. She instills confidence without being opinionated and her flexibility is quite reassuring. It's a glorious feeling to know my hair is the best it can be and I can look forward to that feeling every time I go to Mission Ten Eleven. Gillian is SO fabulous, that I followed her from a previous Salon to Mission 1011...and it's been the best ""obsession"" of my hair career! I'm 40, I'm blond and my hair is not ""model thick"" - enough said - I've had my share of salon ""experiences"", and Gillian at Mission 1011 is where I have gone to Hair Heaven. I have been going to Ernie for over 5 years now - he is the best! Color jobs are off the hook, I live for the shampoo massages and the cut is always fabulous! You want big party hair - he can do it (and it will stay big all night long too!), you want sleek stylish sophistication - he has that on lock too. He is probably the only person I have gone to and said ""do whatever you want"" I trust his genius that much! He never steers me in the wrong direction and isn't afraid to tell me NO if I want to do some crazy stuff, Ernie knows what he's talking about and I listen! Even when I have to schedule an appointment last minute they do their best to fit me in. I always look forward to my visits - as I know they will be filled with lots of pampering and tons of laughter. The crew knows how to make a girl feel real good! The other great thing is that Ernie ALWAYS trains his assistants (shout out to Gabriela) to do as he would do, so if by chance he's not in that day - don't worry! The girls can be trusted to hook your coif up with no hesitation. Mission Ten Eleven owner Ernie Hernandez is everything a woman could want in her stylist. I started seeing Ernie after a friend, who has been going to him for years, first suggested I seek his advice about changing my hair color. When I resisted, she finally ordered me to go and let him straighten me out. Which he did, in the loveliest way possible. I've received nothing but compliments ever since, on both my cut and color, not only from women, but from men, too. (You know your hair looks good when a man actually thinks to make a comment!) Equally at ease talking about hair, rock 'n' roll, design, or his adorable kids, Ernie is a lot of fun to spend time with every month. Being straight, he's in a position to dole out a few secrets of his tribe, which I appreciate. And he makes me feel like a princess every time I have an appointment. Rounding out the experience is his sweet and talented assistant (she's got a way with a hairdryer), pleasant, high-energy staff, gorgeous salon and impeccable play list. I been dying to see Krystal and finally had a chance!IMy only regret was that if I could have came in a couple months earlier! My ends were dead from excessive heating tools! I explained what I wanted, which was a trim and some layers. I was a little worried from numerous traumatic experiences from scissor happy hair cutters, but was assured from Krystal that she will keep my length and give me some layers. She made me feel very comfortable as she cut away . I noticed while it was wet how light it felt compared to the heaviness I had before. I was interrupted in the middle of my cut due to a meeting that I had to attend and Krystal told me that she would finish on time, which she did! What an awesome blowout and hair cut!! I couldn't stop touching my hair!! When I first walked into Mission 1011 I was warmly greeted by two stylist and a receptionist. I was referred to this salon by my friend who fortunately walked by it in South Pasadena. This is a brand new salon and has a unique classic/contemporary design and a really good energy. With a lot of other salons there's a colder feel and even receptionists seem to snub customers.
