Great quality food. Much better than when it was Himalayan Cuisine. Love that we got a free good quality mimosa w/ our weekend buffet. Price not unreasonable, food was amazing!...

Fabulous quality food! 11/7/2009

Great quality food. Much better than when it was Himalayan Cuisine. Love that we got a free good quality mimosa w/ our weekend buffet. Price not unreasonable, food was amazing! Delicious chicken pakora (like Indian chicken fingers), chicken tikka masala, tamarind rice and spinach w/ chickpeas. My husband is vegan and there were some nice options for him too. Will go back again soon! :) Pros: Delicious, vegan friendly more

Reasonably priced, Good people, Great food, Fantastic selection of beers 11/28/2008

My husband (he is an Indian) and I are vegetarians and love Indian food. When we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted warmly and seated promptly. We had the vegetable samosa as an appetizer and ""Recession Lunch"", which was $5.99. This included a salad, a nan bread (quartered), a cup of rice, and the vegetable dish. We had the vegetable korma and Aloo Kawli. For drinks, we got the mango lassi and a porter (Polygamy Porter, I am not kidding check it out!, Their slogan is Bet you can't have just one!) The food arrived in 5-10 minutes. The salad was fresh, nan bread was warm and soft, the vegetable dish was fantastic. We cant stop salivating over it even after 24 hours! The price for the entire dinner was <$30. Which, I think is reasonable considering it was a specialty beer from Utah. Pros: Great tasting vegetarian dish Cons: none I can think of more

Vegas's Best! 6/26/2008

My friends from LA and I ended up here on the recommendation of a Vegas local, and it was well worth it! more

excellent service, food and atmosphere! 5/15/2008

EXCELLENT...EXCELLENT..EXCELLENT. My favorite place to eat in Las Vegas! I have been there few dozen times and always a great meal. Highly recommended more

Very sweet, and oh what food! It's a happy day in Vegas! 4/3/2008

We just started looking around in Vegas for a vegetarian, or vegetarian friendly restaurant and found the Himalayan Cuisine. It sounded great from the review, but when we went there, we were especially pleased by not only the sweet ambiance and more than courteous hosts, but the amazing meal which we had hoped for. The tomato soup was quite the tasty dish, as well as the organic greens salad. We're so done with the casino food, as good as some of it is, it's just too rich for us. The Himalayan Cuisine will be on our tours of Vegas from now on. Pros: Excellent food and service. Very unique flavors. Cons: none that I took note of.. more

Tried something new for a change... 2/17/2008

So my daughter makes me go to this himalayan cuisine place off of flamingo... I have never had Himalayan food before and it was delicious! I had the lunch buffet which gave me a chance to taste all the main dishes on menu plus the waiter talked into having a mango sake martini..soo good. I brought my husband. Pros: Not a busy setting... calm and peaceful enough to enjoy the food. Cons: The names on the menu more

Another great reason to dine out in Las Vegas! 1/3/2008

One of my favorite reasons for living in Las Vegas is the ability to access exotic foods of almost every variety all within a 20 minute drive. Himalayan Cuisine is an excellent example of this. Located in a strip mall just off from the Strip, it's not much to look at from the outside. However, what the restaurant lacks in decor they more than make up for with taste. Their beer and wine selection is a pleasant break from the norm, featuring Bavarian brews, traditional bourgeois favorites and imported ethnic beers. The food menu is so well written, it was difficult for me to make a quick decision. Luckily the owner was available to help guide me towards a wonderful lamb Kawab. My wife selected a lamb Korma, and soon we were indulging in the delicious and balanced flavors of east India. The dishes were fresh, flavorful and came in just the right portions. My dish was spicy and crisp, while my wife enjoyed a cream and butter sauce. I never knew lamb could be so tender! And while Himalayan Cuisine offers any range of heat for you spicy lovers, they were also very knowledgeable of the balance between a pleasant burn and a 5 alarm fire. For dessert we ordered Khir, and we were able to softly taste every ingredient used in the dish. I recommend this restaurant to all locals and tourists who want an ""off the beaten path"" dining experience. more

Probably the best restaurant in its price range in all of Las Vegas 12/30/2007

Ever since the new management has come in this has been my absolute favorite restaurant in Las Vegas bar none. The service is friendly and the waiters sit and talk with you if its not too busy. The food is consistently good and the specials they have from time to time aren't just meant to ""move out"" excess food, they are indeed the tastiest dishes of the night. The indian food is great but the nepalese food is better and I find it to be a lot less greasy, a lot less sweet and creamy and a lot more nuanced in flavor. The owner usually serves himself and you would be lucky to be seated at a table where he is serving. Sometimes the chef comes out and talks passionately about his food and cooking techniques as well. The servers seems very knowledgeable about their beers and wine and they stock some very exotic and hard to find beers as well. Some of the wines I've had by the bottle were a steal compared to other restaurants and they use proper stemware and glassware befitting your beverage. For example, a pinot noir glass for a pinot noir, a chimay glass for the chimay beers, a riesling glass for the rieslings etc. The only unfortunate thing is that the location is set in a strip mall plaza where one is forced to make a u-turn on busy flamingo rd when driving from the strip. Parking isn?t always that great either, but these are very minor caveats. Pros: Fantastic food, great selection of beers and wine, low markups on the alcohol, happy hour Cons: location is not the sexiest, ambience could be better (although it does improve week by week), parking sometimes can be difficult more

Authentic Food 12/18/2007

I came in last week and wanted to write a review on how great the food was here. I had the chicken curry - very flavorful, great spices. Their menu had a lot to choice from...anything from pakoda to soups/salads to chicken/vegetarian/seafood entrees. I hear they have a lunch buffet - I will try that next time. more

A great intrduction to Nepalese cuisine 5/1/2007

Update 04/08 The son has recently taken over and brought in a new chef. The menu has been upgraded so we shared two new dishes, mahakali mango chicken ? oven baked chicken with fresh slices of mango in an onion and fennel seed base which is similar to chicken tika masala. Our second entree was saag ra dhiido ? braised lamb, sauteed spinach and Nepalese cornmeal (grits?). We have had several saag dishes in the past and usually the ingredients are mixed together, but in this dish each item stood alone. We requested a medium heat level, but neither entree was particularly hot. We also ordered naan and basmati rice. Service was very slow because our server, presumably the owner?s son, also served as maitre d and cashier. Pros: Affordable, great food Cons: Lacks ambiance more

Great food, bare decor 2/25/2006

Probably the best-tasting Indian food I've had in Vegas, although sadly that's not a very high bar here. They advertise their cuisine as ""London-style,"" which emphasizes a different set of spices than your usual fare found in the States. Their Korma to die for. One complaint: the decor is plain and a little uncomfortable. Pros: great food, prices, london-style fare Cons: decor more

One of worst restauants in town! 3/30/2004

This is the only place I've been to where the grill cook and staff laugh when they burn your food or where they assume you are unfamiliar with the food and bring you something other than what you ordered. Their specialty stews contain more bones than meat, and the quality in general is simply not good. When it first opened it was pretty good, now the portions and quality have shrunk while the prices have risen..... Pros: Location, Business Hours, Prices Cons: , Food, Staff more
