Small portions, not garnish on plates, changes in ingredients make me very unhappy with Mimis. They were once very good. Tried it again yesterday and spent 70.33 for three people and were very unhappy with the food and portion, The waitress said that everyone is complaining. more

Mimi's is no longer the quality restaurant it has been 1/8/2007

I am an excellent cook, and when I eat out, I chose my restaurants with care. I have been a very satisfied customer of Mimi's Cafe for a number of years. It has been one of my favorite places to invite people to have dinner with me because of their excellent quality, prices, and choices. I loved their blue crab cakes, and that has been my main reason for eating at Mimi's. Today I dropped by to pick up an order of blue crab cakes to take home with me. I discovered that the menu has beem changed drastically and limited in what it has to offer. The portion sizes have been reduced; soup and salad no longer come with the dinner, but rather one has to pay extra for them, and now one gets two crab cakes instead of three. Worse of all, they have added lump fish in the crab cakes. It tasted fishy and not of blue crab at all. I come from Maryland so I know what a blue crab looks like and know its taste well.\r I met a friend at the Cafe who also complained about the prices and limited choices. She and her family won't be going back there (6 people), and two other people asked me today if I could recommend Mimi's and I frankly said I could no longer do so (add three more people). While waiting for the Dial-A-Ride van to pick me up, one of Mimi's staff told me that many people have complained about the change in menu and the exorbitant prices. I won't be going back again in spite of the wonderful ambiance and wonderful service; I image none of my 15 other family members will either since their tastes are similar to mine. If Mimi's wants to go out of business, this is an excellent way to do it. From just two dissatisfied customers, Mimi has potentially lost about 23 customers in the course of one hour. Congratulations. more

breakfast? 11/15/2002

Had breakfast, lunch and dinner at Mimi's. Great food for lunch and dinner but breakfast? Smallest portions in AZ. Scrambled two means scrambled one medium size egg. I picked up all of the egg with one forkfull. Can't understand why lunch and dinner portions are plentiful but they skimp on breakfast. Pros: good lunch, good dinner Cons: small breakfast, not good for breakfas more

imi's has the allure of a country inn, a charming shabby sheik setting, and consistently good home cooking comparable to a mountain retreata petite piece of French magic in the desert. more

The BEST Customer Service 10/13/2002

As everyone knows, for the most part it costs MUCH less to make your own meal at home than it does to buy one at a restaurant. So, why spend more to go out? CUSTOMER SERVICE - you spend more in order to be SERVED, to be treated NICELY. Mimi's Cafe ALWAYS delivers in this area. I'm a Customer Service Representative by trade and, so, I'm keenly aware of good and bad customer service. The staff at Mimi's always makes me feel like they're glad I'm there. Pros: Great Cust. Service, Pleasant ambience, Tasty food Cons: Average pricing, Occasionally crowded more

Tasty mouth full 9/2/2002

They truly go out of their way to please. While waiting to be seated there is alway coffee and a snack waiting for you.Their egg white omlettes are the best you'll find anywhere. The presentation of your dish is very pleasing to the eye. It's just a delightful place to enjoy your breakfast with your family or friends. Pros: kids are welcomed, two can share a dish, great omlettes Cons: not enough parking, music a little loud, apt to over eat more

The greatest 9/2/2002

Mimi's is the best for breakfast, bar none. Excellent food quality, good service, good value - what more could you want? Pros: quality, consistency, price Cons: often crowded more

A little French without the people! 8/13/2002

Mimi's Cafe is one of the best sit-down restuarants around town right now. The staff is friendly, and they take and deliver your order quickly. The cafe has a cute little French atmosphere, and actually looks like a little French corner cafe. I highly recomemnd trying the French Onion soup, and the Yankee Pot Roast dinner. Both are out of this world. more
