Review content:
I am an excellent cook, and when I eat out, I chose my restaurants with care. I have been a very satisfied customer of Mimi's Cafe for a number of years. It has been one of my favorite places to invite people to have dinner with me because of their excellent quality, prices, and choices. I loved their blue crab cakes, and that has been my main reason for eating at Mimi's. Today I dropped by to pick up an order of blue crab cakes to take home with me. I discovered that the menu has beem changed drastically and limited in what it has to offer. The portion sizes have been reduced; soup and salad no longer come with the dinner, but rather one has to pay extra for them, and now one gets two crab cakes instead of three. Worse of all, they have added lump fish in the crab cakes. It tasted fishy and not of blue crab at all. I come from Maryland so I know what a blue crab looks like and know its taste well.\r I met a friend at the Cafe who also complained about the prices and limited choices. She and her family won't be going back there (6 people), and two other people asked me today if I could recommend Mimi's and I frankly said I could no longer do so (add three more people). While waiting for the Dial-A-Ride van to pick me up, one of Mimi's staff told me that many people have complained about the change in menu and the exorbitant prices. I won't be going back again in spite of the wonderful ambiance and wonderful service; I image none of my 15 other family members will either since their tastes are similar to mine. If Mimi's wants to go out of business, this is an excellent way to do it. From just two dissatisfied customers, Mimi has potentially lost about 23 customers in the course of one hour. Congratulations.
