Excellent service 8/19/2017

The gentleman arrived early and quickly and thoroughly diagnosed the plumbing issue and corrected the problem. At all times, before beginning the diagnosis and during the work, he advised the options we had and the cost we would incur. Before leaving, he checked our other potential problem areas to assure that the 'fix' he performed was sufficient. This person had the equipment, skills and customer service that we expect from a home contractor. more

Mike Counsil Plumbing - Don't settle for less 8/9/2017

We were just going to put in a new clean out and new toilets along with our annual maintenance. Unfortunately we found we needed to replace the sewer line under the house and out to the street. For three weeks the team from Mike Counsil worked diligently to get the job done. Every last one of them was polite, friendly and courteous. They made sure that they cleaned up every evening and our down time with no plumping was unbelievably minimal. Cody Bradley, Russel Jon Mattson and Rocky Reyes, took the time to listen to concerns and come up with solutions. Nick Trigero had to work one Saturday out in 102 degrees and he was a trooper. It is wonderful to find quality, dependable service. It was an expensive job but I don't think we could have found a better company to do business with. After the work was completed, Antonette came out to ensure we were happy with the service we received. more

Mike Counsil Plumbing 7/29/2017

My almost 80 year old mother had a plumping issue, she dropped kitty litter in the sink- 2 very polite men came to repair the clogged drain problem, charged her $315 to walk in the door and remove the P-trap, then tell her they will need to cut a hole int he wall to place new piping and will cost $1900.00 because the litter turned to cement. She is on a fixed income, I called my maintenance man from work- he came over with a commercial grade snake and snaked the problem- really Mike Counsil you should return the senior citizens $315.00 payment for trying to rip her off. Bad business, and more importantly- bad business ethics. So disappointed that your company doesn't work with more integrity. more

Do Not Recommend 7/20/2017

I was told upfront the service would be expensive and slow and it was both of those things. We needed a 20 gallon water heater installed, one of the really tiny ones. It took two days, three attempts, and cost around $1500. Mike Counsil was the only available plumber that day, but I do not recommend them. The staff tried to be nice about it and apologized for the company's pricing, as an emergency plumber, and they did warn me upfront that it would be bad. more

the diagnostics and repairs were done during holiday week; staff came on time and completed work as promised issues: the work was very expensive; apprentices need more training and supervision before leaving them to finsh work on the site more

Eric and his assistants were very professional and knowledgeable while at my home fixing my copper pipe leaks. When I called Saturday morning, they were very prompt and sent Eric that evening o repair. While pricing was fair, but on the high side. I would recommend this company. JPL, Pleasanton more

Great in every aspect but one. 7/14/2017

The Charles and his understudy couldn't have done a better job. Their work and efficiency were excellent. They communicated well and took the time to educate. They even pointed out future issues and potential fixes for them. They made some minor fixes that went beyond the work that they were contracted to perform. Having said this, I was grossly overcharged for what they did. They installed a PRV that wasn't particularly challenging. The charges were nearly 3 times as much as would be charged by a plumber who would have done a perfectly adequate job. In conscience, I would not recommend Mike Counsil Plumbing to anyone and I would never use them again for any reason. Despite the positives about their service, it can not make up for the feeling that I was price gouged. There are plenty of Yelp reviews that point out their excessive pricing, so my review will have no effect on a company that has attended the workshops that are designed to help them show well and charge to the hilt. I wish that I had read those reviews before calling them. more

MC showed up when they said they would. The quality of work seemed to be excellent. 7/12/2017

I guess the most important part of the review is to say that during the service the toilet was accidentally damaged. However MC took care of the issue without any discussion and stood 100% behind their work. I will say that they are on the expensive side but the work is as professional as I have seen in a long time. Their people were neat, clean, and professional to deal with. more

I have been calling Mike Counsil Plumbing onto my home plumbing work for 10 years or so. Not only does the work get done in a timely manner, but the friendly folks working for Counsil are so obviously honest that I feel completely comfortable having them in my house. I suspect there may be cheaper outfits available, but they'd be hard pressed to be nearly as good. more
