It may not look all that impressive from the outside, but Mikado has some of the largest portions, freshest sushi and varied menu around. It is always crowded so one may have to wait, but it is worth it. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The specialty rolls are worth spending the extra dollar on, but even the standard menu is fantastic. A must for sushi fans. Pros: Sushi selection, size, freshness Cons: atmosphere/can get crowded more

Most Authentic 11/5/2007

This restaurant is one of the most authentic Japanese style restaurants that I have been to in the US. I just recently returned from a trip to Japan and it was like going back again when we ate here. However other thing that makes this restaurant so great is the innovativeness with the rolls/flavors, I would say that some of the combinations rival Morimoto. I love non-traditional food but made with authentic/traditional ingredients (i.e. not too Americanized and this may be one of my new favorite restaurants. Pros: food Cons: can get crowded get there early more

mikado is the real deal! 1/20/2005

When you are looking to indulge a craving for fresh fish quick but not rushed, this south jersey staple is the answer. The edamame beans are perfect, the sashimi/sushi plates are delectable, and the cooked fare is exquizit. the decor is a bit dated but with this selecton of rolls , cooked or not, who really cares! It gives the west coast a run for the money and thats bolder than the boldest wasabi! more
