We had a problem with a slight vibration when turning left on our '98 Ford Windstar begining last January. New to town, we thought it'd be a good idea to go straight to the dealer for fear of being ripped off! HA! They advised we replace both front tires and have the wheels aligned. We went ahead with the first installment of $300+ dollars for that. Three days later the front left tire began to HOWL and grind. We brought it in very upset to which they said there was no way they could have known the front knuckle joint (what that is to this day I still do not know) needed to be replaced and it was a coincidence that it happened three days after being in the shop. So another $400 goes in. Two months later the grinding on the front left returned. We brought it in to which they said there was NO WAY they could have known it would need new bearings on that side. Beside ourselves, after much arguing back and forth, we gave up and let them do the work as we desperately needed the van for work. This time, they promised to have it done and ready by Thursday evening as it was needed for work Saturday morning. We received no phone call Thursday. When we called Friday morning no one had even started the work on the van and they said they ""forgot"" our agreed upon deadlines. After practically crying on the phone the rude and cruel manager finally agreed to give us a courtesy rental for the weekend IF we could get there BEFORE 6pm. So I had to take work off, and rush over there against the clock, practically having a heart attack. It was no surprise when I showed up at 5:45 and the rental people had no idea what I was talking about. We did indeed get the rental and the van was ready by TUESDAY. That was in March, and at this point we have spent over $1000 to fix the front left grinding noise. Well guess what, it's back this past week. I called and spoke with Mike Donbrowski who said ""we'll have to take a look at it and see"", to which I said ""you already have three times for the same problem"". He went on to say that it is not documented as the same problem and upon further inspection the invoice ffrom March says RIGHT sided grinding. I argued this morning with Mike, for him to only offer to ""take a look at it"". I said if he didn't help me to resolve the problem I was going to take him to court, to which he replied ""our paperwork states different problems with each visit"". This situation couldn't be worse, it's as if they are SLICK at ripping decent people off. We have very little money for such things and use our vehicle for our work. Something like this could result in us losing our home. Mike Donbrowski, Travis, and the sham of an outfit at Midway Ford should lose there permits and liscenses and be prosecuted for there illegal business practices.
Pros: none, rude, mean, horrible customer service, bad work!
Cons: they even document the problem wrong on the receipts!
