I want to Midas to get some front end work done. They ended up replacing a part that was not broke. It didn't have anything to do with why I went in. This part ended up braking 3 times in the last 20 miles. I never had a problem before i went in. This ended with them just putting the the original part back in and charging me for the whole service. I would not go back to them ever. I would also like to get a protest together, please contact me at nld122@hotmail to become part of this protest. more

Avoid Ths Shop 3/12/2010

I went to this shop because my brakes weren't working well. It was fixed but didn't last long and started to leak a month later. The biggest fright was that the VAN was fine before but after that it suddenly had multiple problems everywhere ranging from Transmission Leakage, Oil Leakage to Break Oil Leakage. I don't trust these guys because they don't just fix a problem they go looking for problems. Avoid. Pros: Warm Room to Wait Cons: Everything is diagnosed. more

AVIOD THIS SHOP! 7/24/2007

At first, I really liked this shop.. it's close to my house and I don't have to sit and wait. I can drop my car off and walk home. I took my car to this shop for an oil change and similar to another customer, I was taken for a ride.... When the person changed my oil he torqued the bolt on the oil pan too much, causing the bolt to be stripped. We think that a larger bolt was put on to cover this up and the day after my oil was changed, I had significant oil leak on my car. When I called the shop asking about my receipt and an explanation of what was checked (keep in mind that I dropped the car off and picked it up the next day) they guy on the phone told me they were open until 6pm to just come in. Well, apparently I can't live my life around the hours of the Midas shop, so I didn't make it.... just be glad you were not around when I was there!!! My witchy attitude is not something to be desired. Cons: Glorified con-artist more

READ THIS BEFORE GOING TO WHITE BEAR AVE. MIDAS 6/27/2007

AVOID THIS SHOP! I recently had my oil changed on my car at this Midas shop on White Bear Ave. in St. Paul. The next day after the oil change I noticed a significant oil leak under my car. Previously, my car had not leaked at all. I brought it back and asked them about it and they said the bold on the oil pan ""wore out"" and said i needed a new oil pan...$700 estimate. \r The next day I took my car to another shop and they asked who changed the oil last. The mechanic at this shop was sure that midas overtorqued the bold causing the problem and it was completely stripped. And to fix the problem, They needed to put a new bolt in ($40 total repair cost). \r \r So, not only did this Midas shop nearly ruin my car, but once i brought it back to them to confront them, they tried taking me for a ride! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. The manager, Ted, I've had a few conversations about this topic and he is straight up dishonest and a glorified con artist. Cons: The manager/ mechanics are DISHONEST and poor work. more

Great experience 8/22/2005

It's tough to go to a mechanic when one only has a basic working knowledge of the car, for example, gasoline goes in the hole on the side. It's easy to feel like you will get taken. However, at the Midas on White Bear, I felt like they really listened to me and understood my budget. The office and waiting room was a little...sparse...but I split hairs. My car was taken in, diagnosed and repaired quickly, soundly and for a decent price. I trusted that they were doing what I needed, they even took the time to explain each service and encouraged me to ask questions. I will definitely go back to them for even my smallest service needs and will recommend them to anyone. Pros: Quick diagnosis, honest, reasonably priced Cons: Boring magazines more
