An Amazing Place to Learn to Dive!!! 5/11/2009

My girlfriend and I learned of Mid Atlantic Scuba Center through some friends. We signed up for the open water certification. We were worried our schedule would not allow us to certify in time for an upcoming trip to the Bahamas. This was not true at all. At MASC (Mid Atlantic Scuba Center) they have very flexible schedules. Our class work was a great experience too. Our instructors made sure all the information we learned in our manuals and knowledge reviews was well understood. Anytime we had a question or concern it was answered and then some. Once at the pool, our instructors and divemasters had all our gear and also other sizes just in case we needed. Our pool training dives ran smooth. The staff was great in the pool. Even when I had some trouble doing my skills the staff helped me through it. The next weekend was the big pool, Dutch Springs. When my girlfriend and I arrived we could not wait to get in the water and get started. Our Open Water weekend also ran very smooth. All the staff was very friendly, professional, and well organized. Since that weekend, we have returned to MASC for more instruction on other dive specialties, equipment, and even dive travel. I still use MASC. I really had a great experience learning to dive with this shop. I recommend this shop for all levels of scuba divers! Pros: Great Customer Service, Professional Staff, well Organized. more

A Great Scuba Shop 5/9/2009

I got my basic certification for scuba toward the end of 1970 (not with MASC) and I completed my Advanced training with another shop other than MASC in the 1980's. When I came to MASC, I had the experience of training with 2 other shops under my belt. I think that experience with 2 other shops qualifies me to compare dive shops. I went to MASC when they had their Ambler store to sign up for a liveaboard trip that I was interested in. I have been with them ever since. They moved to the Bensalem location and they have been my dive shop for over 20 years now. I have NEVER had bad service with MASC. I've been able to get trips, service and purchase goods through Lyn that I couldn't find for the same price anywhere. In addition, I have completed the training necessary for me to obtain the cert level of Master Diver (not to be confused with Dive Master). I've had all of that training through MASC with several of their instructors and they each were excellent. I'd recommend MASC to anyone !! Pros: Excellent customer service more

Best Dive Shop in Eastern PA 5/8/2009

My wife and I have been diving for a while now. We both got certified at MASC and both have taken additional specialty classes there as well. You can not find a better place to not only train you to dive but also to help you with equipment sales and rentals. Lyn and staff are very familiar with what is currrent and what will work for each individual diver. They have a good selection of equipment and also service what they sell. We moved 600 miles away but still use MASC as our service and equipment store. \r \r The social networking we have done through MASC at the special events and in classes has left us with lifelong friends. You can't go wrong using this place as your Scuba Center. Pros: Staff, Customer Service, Instruction, Selection more

Can't Go Wrong Here 5/8/2009

What a great place! I've always been afraid of water. I learned to snorkel at Mid Atlantic Scuba Center. I signed up for their Discover Snorkeling class. They took their time with me, and I was able to overcome my fears and, for the first time ever, was able to enjoy the water on my vacation and loved it! I hear good things about their Discover Scuba session as well. The staff is knowledgeable, kind and caring. You can't go wrong here! Pros: Friendly, caring staff more

poor customer service 10/26/2007

I am just a beginner, but I can tell a bad service when I see it even when it comes to diving. I had a pretty bad experience with this scuba center. I would suggest to go else where, no matter how pleased you are with the initial contact. Deceitfully, Lyn is so accomadating and friendly when you sign up that you think the same of all the staff members--cheap sales trick? However, you will be shocked at how unprofessional these people behave. For example, a few times they did not call back, they did not inform me they did not inform me about the time change and then argued with me in high voices offering no apologies what so ever. I also expected to have a consistent trainer while doing the pool sessions, instead, for whatever reason, it was a new person every time. The pool sessions were shortened due to the poor organizational skills of the instructors (wrong weights, mismatched equipment, etc) and that's considering the fact that not much time was spent under the water due to too much talking about past travels and such. But most of all, I have never encountered more rudeness in my life (opposite to the wide spread opinion that divers are the frendliest bunch). My advice: go elsewhere! You'll pay less as well:) Pros: class teacher was great Cons: poor customer service, disorganized, staff attitude more
