I handle estates for a living, and as such have been a repeat costumer. I have sold six and consigned two (grand) pianos to Lotof. He has been willing to pay a fair price, with timely payment as promised, and never left me wondering about any aspect of the transaction. Kim has moved several grands for me, including an adventure down a spiral staircase, and my moms piano when we inherited it. Very professional, handled with care, no issues of any sort, and at a very fair price. As a repeat user of services I see when companies can be at their best or at their worst. Lotof and Kim have always impressed me with their stellar service, and I recommend them highly. more

Michelle's Piano & Organ Co is one of the best places in Portland if you are looking for a great result and affordable price. Our family was searching for a new piano for our home and visited many places. But everywhere we went, we were just not all the way satisfied with the product. Then we came across Michelle's Piano and Organ Co and ever since then, our kids have loved the piano. It was our first time actually going out to get a nice piano and we did not have an exact idea of what we wanted. The staff was always willing to help me answer questions and fulfill my needs in buying the best piano. I am just truly in love with the sound quality of our piano and i strongly recommend all to come and take a look if you are searching for a piano!! more

I highly recommend Michelle's Piano store in Portland. \r \r I was searching for a grand piano to replace my daughter's upright one. She has moved to upper division after 5 years of learning. She has started to complaint that her upright piano doesn't allow her to practice skills (subtle dynamic, fast key response, etc) she needed. I understood she needed much more freedom than the upright could offer. We have looked around for quite some time and I found she has very picky ear and good sense of what kind of piano she wanted. \r \r When we came to visit Lotof's store and chatted with him, I was so impressed by his enthusiasm about music and his honest comments / suggestions on choices of grand pianos, and his special sense of humor. If you are looking for a good quality piano, I would highly recommend that you visit Michelle's piano store in Portland OR, and I deeply believe that you would feel the same way I had. I later decided to purchase a brand new GX3 and could not be happier about the quality of every aspect of this piano. The transaction went through seamlessly and the movers were very professional. Job well done Lotof and your team!\r more

I went into Michelle's Piano to rent a 1/15/2012

I went into Michelle's Piano to rent a better digital piano for my kids that have been taking lessons for a few years. However, after talking with Lotof, he made the daunting task of buying a real piano as easy as can be. With his help, I chose a beautiful Kawai K3 piano in polish mahogany finish. It had to be ordered from California as the one in their store was already sold to someone else. I wanted to have it delivered as a Christmas gift for my children. Lotof arranged for it to be delivered on Christmas Eve. It was delivered on-time and the movers called ahead as promised so my wife and I could get the kids out of the house. The movers were awesome and very careful with the piano. They kept the original shipping box as I requested. I used it to wrap the piano for Christmas. We told the kids that it was a curio cabinet for Grandma so that had no idea. When we told them to open it on Christmas morning, they were thrilled! Happy tears all around! We've had the piano for about 3 weeks now. The center pedal no longer functions correctly and I emailed Lotof about it. He answer me within a few hours and arranged for a tech to come out the following week. Fast and simple... just how I like it. Many thanks to Lotof and team at Michelle's Piano. Courteous, professional, and communicative! Nothing is better than a shop that keeps in touch and answer all emails and phone calls. Michelle's delivers! more

New Family Piano 12/1/2011

Our family spent a long time researching and looking for the right piano. We shopped around several Portland stores before coming across Michelle's Piano. We had a great experience with Lotof and the whole team. The piano movers were even company employees and not contracted out. Lotof was very patient with us even after months of searching for our piano. He gives you great personal experience and really knows the piano business. When we finally did find one that we loved, it was so simple and easy to take home. We would recommend Michelle's to anyone. more

Piano Moving & Refurbishing 11/10/2011

In September, 2011 I hired Michelle's Piano Moving and Services, Inc to move my Steinway upright to a new location. The piano first went to Michelle's SE Stark Street location for interior cleaning, action regulation, hammer cleaning, tuning and touch-up body work. The pick-up from our house and delivery to the new location was professional and well done. Upon delivery, I noticed a discoloration on the front of the piano and a blurring of the Steinway logo. All other work performed was perfect. Lotof had a remakable piano refinisher come to the new location and take the affected pieces with him for refinishing. They came back good as new and we are very happy with the end result. more

Build a relationship with a person...don't just buy a piano. 11/1/2011

I have enjoyed my relationship with Michelle's Piano for several years. From the first time I met Lotof I was struck with his professionalism and his desire to accommodate all of my piano needs. I have rented instruments from him as well as purchased a very high end instrument and all my experiences have been thoroughly enjoyable. I highly recommend all of my piano students to first visit Michelle's before considering any piano purchase. Once you meet Lotof and Kim you will understand why I love working with them. I consider them not only as partners with me for the advancement of musical education but as wonderful friends. more

Spectacular quality and personal service 10/13/2011

I've dealt with Michelle's on low, medium and high pianos (Bosendorfer at the end), and I was treated incredibly graciously and professionally at all turns. When just looking, when buying and when receiving delivery. I looked at other stores, but no one held a candle to the service, hospitality, professionalism and graciousness here. Lotof, Kim and crew are the absolute best. more

Informative, Knowledgeable, and Friendly Staff, Great Pianos 12/22/2010

Michelle's Piano in Portland was full of a wonderful energy where the salesmen didn't pressure you but still they were on hand to answer all my questions. They were knowledgeable, friendly, informative, and overall I loved the experience when I was in their piano showroom. I thank Lotof for the personal experience type feel which all piano shops should have. My hat is off to a wonderful place and a great staff. Thank you! more

The best place to buy a piano in Portland 4/26/2010

Best Place To Buy a Piano in Portland Oregon. I am new to this forum, and would like to share my piano purchasing experience. After reading the Piano Book, doing my research, and playing MANY pianos, I decided to purchase a YC 208. I will not disclose the price, but will say that Lotof at Michelle's Piano in Portland Oregon is in my opinion the best dealer in Oregon. In every aspect of the transaction, Lotof has been honest, polite, and most important, ethical. From day one, Lotof treated me like a friend rather than a customer. And to this day continues to do so. If you live in Oregon, and are shopping for a piano, there is no better place to purchase than Michelle's Piano. If you visit Michelle's Piano, you will not be disappointed. If only I had visited Lotof first, I would have saved a lot of time, and unfortunate frustration. I look forward to enjoying this amazing instrument (truly, for the specs and features this piano offers it is an amazing instrument and VALUE!) for years to come. Pros: Service, Price, Selection, Knowledge, Staff....All Pro's more
