Michael's has a wonderful Sunday Brunch!! \r \r My family and I attend every Sunday after Church. They have such a large variety of foods to choose from. You can have breakfast or lunch or just desert or all three if you want. The salad bar is also awesome with fresh shrimp, crab and a variety of fresh fruit.\r \r Great place to eat anytime!! more

I am writing to tell everyone of any ethnic group to not patronage Michael's Resturant! We set up reservation for a group of 30 in their banquet room two weeks in advance. When we arrived, they only had seating for 20, and had other customers seated in the banquet area. The tableclothes were dirty, the plates were not clean and some tables had not been bussed yet. It took forever to get our order taken and 10x's that to get our food. Two bottles of wine was ordered by our party and two of the parties received used, unclean wine glasses that had leftover wine in them. One of the group members never got her food, and had to request that she have her food. When the manager was requested he brought an attitude and said what did we want him to do about it. He then said he was glad that we had brought this to his attention because he had something he wanted to show us. He turns over the receipt and says this is what one of my customers said about your group. The receipt (from one of the customers they sat in the banquet area) said that our group was ignorant. When someone said to him that he did not like minorities...the owner actually said ""NO he didn't!"" He actually admitted that he did not like minorities!!! Don't waste your time or money at this place. In 2011 we are still having the same struggles. more

I'm a regular not by association or nepotism, nor am I affiliated with the restaurant in any way other than patron. Ron, the owner and chef who is always there, adds a personal touch to your visit and remembers your face next time. Bread with a special sauce is complimentary every visit, the wine list is affordable yet distinctive, and the large menu features many custom-designed options so that, while not every dish is perfect, there are a lot of good surprises as you try new things. Anything with the alfredo sauce is outstanding, my favorites are the chicken alfredo pizza and the chicken carbonara, but it's worth exploring new things even after you have a favorite. The blue lighting somehow feels homey and the acoustics make your conversations noticeably private. While I enjoy the perks of the restaurant's sparse patronage, I still hope people will support this independent restaurant because we can't afford to lose what it offers - a touch of intimate, unique, resilient class in a city of franchises. Michael's Restaurant is a classy restaurant located in downtown Bloomington that offers outstanding, prices, food, and service. During the week they feature an extensive lunch buffet, but if you aren't in the mood for that, there are a variety of other affordable selections to choose from off of their menu. During the weekend, specials that are offered are great. Sunday is a brunch, where the buffet is expanded and an omelette and waffle bar, along with an extensive dessert table are present. The wait staff is always attentive and friendly and you really can't find fries and cheesecake that compare to this restaurant anywhere else.
