All I can say is ""meh""... Food is kinda bland. Not enough meat, drinks are expensive... Wait service was nice though... Pros: Nice atmosphere Cons: everything else

hip, happenin' crowd crams into this space. we went on a wednesday nite and it took 30 mins to get a table outside - which is better if you don't like the hubbub,noise of the crowd inside. It was worth the wait. great crab and shrimp dishes. drinks were not a bargain - small and weak. But overall this was a good experience Pros: shrimp dishes, crowd Cons: wait, weak drinks more

Best margaritas in town. Not to miss the Margatini's, mango or peach to be precise ! Always a great crowd and ambience and about the only place in the valley serving till 1am every night. more

Healthy Mexican with a Cali twist. 6/20/2002

Authentic this place is not. That doesnt make it bad. It definitely has a healthy California element. Youre not going to find enchiladas or burritos draped in mounds of cheese and sauce. I think the food is okay. Take note. This is a very busy and popular place. Its not right for an intimate dinner. The drinks are solid and the bar is hopping. Service can vary from good to horrible. While I dont come here often, I havent banned it from possibility. It has certainly never been a horrible experience. I dont know give it a shot. Pros: Good Postcard more

Get there on a Monday 6/5/2002

I used to live around the corner from Mexicali and probably enjoyed it for the sake of convenience as much as quality. Their drinks are good and moderately priced. The menu is a bit schizophrenic balanced between traditional dishes and new twists on old standards. I think the best thing about Mexicali is Mexicali Mondays where they knock 30% off the top of your bill. It's good but not great and certainly not as bad as the previous reviewers would have you believe. more
