Merry Maids

Absolutely horrible experience dealing with Merry Maids and their owner for Rochester, NY. We have found another cleaning service 2 months ago and for the exact same price, then do twice the job and you don't have to deal with a pompus guy that's the owner. My experience was the exact same sk36 that wrote her review in March 2011. The owner comes to visit our house after we already have had service for 6 months and says ""we don't pick anything up."" (They never mentioned this once during the first six months) This visit by the owner was in response to our complaints for several weeks about their cleaners not cleaning certain areas of our house (kitchen and bathrooms to be specific). Instead of apologizing, he told me that we need to make sure everything is picked up or they can't do their job. I told him that a few things here or there in the living room doesn't impact how you clean the kitchen or bathroom. When the cleaning didn't improve again after the next cleaning and I provided him pictures of how they didn't clean, he told me that we were not a ""good fit for them"" and we are looking for cleaners to do above and beyond. Yes, he actually said ""you are looking for someone to do above and beyond."" I have seen a business owner so combative and defensive in my life. Never one time an apology, just an attack on us. Good luck Merry Maids Rochester. It will catch up to you. more

I can't say enough about the wonderful service i recieved with Merry Maids. I had a one time cleaning getting ready for spring and they did such a great job I am considering having them as a regular service. I am not as mobile as I use to be and having such caring, detail oriented girls clean my house was quite a gift! They cleaned my house from top to bottom and even cleaned my windows! I had the Merry Maids clean my home in early March 2011 and I can't begin to tell you how professional this crew of workers are. Not only do they complete the standard cleaning, but they then performed a super deep clean. From the base boards to the ceiling, every surface was sparkling clean. The manager, Nicole, has a clear understanding of achieving customer satisfaction and made sure she translated my expectations into the level of work that easily exceeded my expectations. I can easily recommend the Merry Maids to all my family and friends. more

Merry Maids has been cleaning my home since September. They are always very professional. The staff is very nice and conscientuous about my needs. I love coming home to a nice clean home!! I would highly recommend this service. more

Do not waste your time having them provide you a free estimate if your house has anything on the floors or countertops or other surfaces. After touring my house and using my bathroom, I was told by the new owner that "we don't pick up" When I mentioned to him that if I was going to pick up everything then I would also be able to clean everything, he abruptly left my house after telling me that we were not a good fit. They should have told me that on the phone prior to wasting my time coming to my home to judge me. And for the record, I was willing to pay extra for that service, but he didn't want to be bothered. Good luck new owner, you would have had a weekly customer who would have given you plenty of work. more

I definitely would not recommend this service to anyone. If one is desperate enough to hire the Merry Maids of Rochester I would recommend a thorough walk through EVERY SINGLE TIME they come into the house. I have had several instances when I found damaged goods (including furniture and valuable decorative pieces) some time after they came through. Of course the owner refused to accept responsibility for the damage and was completely unhelpful with regards to financial compensation. I've also had instances when the house was obviously not cleaned AT ALL (not just a few dust bunnies under the bed, I mean not even touched) and I've had to call and make inquires in order to not be charged. I would not recommend this service to anyone I consider a friend! more
