I was given a quote for the move after the representative toured my home. I made a few changes before the move and received a revised estimate. I was assured that the estimate and the actual cost would be very close to one another. Huge shock to have the actual bill come in at about 25% higher than the estimate. A $3700 estimate to $5000 actual was horrible considering that a complete walk-through was conducted prior to the move. Also, I was told 5 movers would be helping us. The crew showed up with 7. There was no way to keep all 7 consistently busy at one time, so the time and cost quickly escalated. I had a 2nd much smaller move scheduled for the following week. The lead mover suggested I request him to handle the 2nd move as he was familiar with our furnishings and the way they were placed into storage. I made this request and it was not honored the day of the 2nd move as two new people came for that one. The person who answered the phone when I called to confirm the 2nd move and make the request for the same lead person was rushed and seemed to just want to get me off the phone. The sales representative, Abe, never called to confirm the moves or check on how either move went. Shortly after he gave me the estimate, his cell phone was disconnected. While the movers were good, I would not use the service again due to the significantly increased cost and poor customer service.
