Mel's Pet Parlor

I have found that Mel's is cheaper than other per parlor's, BUT Mel becomes so RUDE if you question her about the cut she gave or price she quoted. And you MUST pick your dog up immediately when she calls you OR ELSE! She does not care what or how her customers feel. Having a dog is like having a child, your going to look for the best possible care and customer service as the consumer when you drop your dog off. Se does not get that ! Immediately she will tell you to ""Go somewhere else"" ! I will NEVER be back more

Horrible Service! Rude!\r \r I wish I could give a negative star rating.\r \r I dropped my Golden Retreiver here for a bath and trim, he came back SHAVED! Mel is AMAZING!!! She's truly an animal lover, and my little Maltese, Daisy is no exception! She treats my dog like she's one of her own, and I'm more than comfortable leaving her there. \r \r I was referred to Mel's by my neighbor who also takes her Maltese there. I had taken my Daisy to PetsMart a few times and was over-charged and under-satisfied each and every time. Mel's prices are better than reasonable and my dog always looks and smells like a million bucks! Not to mention, she's not stressed out when I pick her up. Daisy HATES get her face wet, so bathing her at home is always a challenge. But Mel and her team do a great job of ensuring Daisy is comfortable and relaxed. \r \r I've even brought in a friend's Yorkie who was visiting from out of town and she, too was beyond thrilled with the results. \r \r I'm always more than willing to share this jewel with any friends looking for a groomer. She's incredible! more

I took my two dogs there on a referral. She always does a good job and doesn't break the bank. You have to give her at least a week's notice for an appt. I drop off my dogs in the morning and they are done by the afternoon. She is very busy...so she will call you when they are ready. My dogs always look like show dogs when I pick them up. I know when I take them to Mel they are in good hands. I only use this groomer! more

I have been looking for a place to take my Shih Tzu and was having a hard time finding someone in my area. I have taken him to several places and did not like the way they cut him or the price. I tried Mel's and I am SOOO pleased! He came out handsome as ever and her fee was SO cheap compared the places that my dog has been. I am so happy and so glad that we found her and will continue to use her from this point on. more

I just will not take my dog anywhere but Mel's for his periodic groom. I never worry about him when he's there. Long ago when I began taking him to Mel's, I choose her because I needed someone who would take a extra care since he was young and new to the grooming game\r \r I'm very happy with the service and the pricing. I have been taking my two dogs to Melanie for years. She is fantastic. Her prices are so competetive my parents bring their dog across state lines to get him groomed. She always does such a great job and I can always count on her to get them in on her busiest days. I love this groomer! My dogs are happy and excited everytime they go to get groomed. She is very straight forward about the condition of your dog and cares about their health. She is much cheaper and has better quality than other grooming shops we've been to before more

I have a Shitzu. Mel did a wonderful job of grooming him at a good price. I previously paid almost DOUBLE the price to get him groomed at another shop. His cut grew out terribly - hair grew up in front of his eyes and he couldn't see! Mel knew exactly what the problem was, fixed it and gave him a great cut. He was also very happy when I picked him up...dogs don't lie. I'm so happy I found Mel. She doesn't have the fanciest shop in town, but she does a great job. more

When I was new to Austin, 5 yrs. ago, Mel's was referred to me for my four dogs. Over the years, I have always been pleased with the way they looked, the treatment they received and Melanie's excellent customer service. If they had a negative star rating, I would have used it... One star is way to good for this groomer!!....\r \r This has to be the worst customer service I've ever experierenced. The owner is just down right mean. She really dosen't care if you like it or not.\r \r I've arranged to drop off my elderly pet to be groomed, I asked if this was possible. She said yes and to drop her off at 7:30am to make sure she's inline first thing. I did, no call, I called at 12:30. She started in with an attitude, she hadn't even started on my pet. She didn't care if I liked it or not. Her words ""come get her if you don't like it"". I was floored, I asked my wife to call and see if I was the cause, maybe I came accross the wrong way. My wife came to me and said, we need to get our pet now!!!\r \r When we got there it esclated, she was rude, nasty, mean... And still charged me, I didn care, I wanted to make sure my pet was safe. \r \r I spoke to another groomer, they knew all about this women. She was fired from their shop for being so nasty.\r \r Enough said, if you love your pet... Don't take them here.\r \r Cons: No customer service very, very, rude more
