Just got my oil changed and it was a pleasant experience. Clean waiting room with the cutest Mini Norfolk Pine, coffee, the oil change was quick at 30 minutes flat. New management was very helpful and honest, he let me know about upcoming maintenance but was informative and not pushy. I'll definitely be coming back for services, I'd recommend this spot to anyone looking for quality car care. Get that oil changed! more

First off, I think it's important to note that I was a female walking into a car center. My family used to have a car garage, so I have some background knowledge. From the moment I walked into the shop, I was impressed with how the team greeted me. They were able to get me in immediately, and thoroughly addressed everything else I needed to get done on my car. One item was my breaks, which I totally knew needed to be done... they were great at talking through each line item and explaining. Additionally, they got me in first thing the next morning to finish the job. I never felt they were just trying to ""sell"" me on getting things done, as they even talked through what was a priority and what could wait. Friendly staff, quick service, and understands we are all on budgets! Highly recommend. more

Called at 2 got in half an hour later on a Saturday. They inspected my breaks for free and let me know what to change on my car. No pressure to get any additional work done and everyone was friendly. Definitely going back. more

Very courteous and knowledgable front-desk staff. Made extra effort to obtain a part needed for a repair from an alternative supplier so it would arrive more quickly. Helped with financing of repair. Mechanic showed me on the car the area that needed repair and was friendly and patient. more

This is the best Meineke location in the area. And the other ones are pretty good too. I came in and they got me in fast late in the afternoon. They looked at my car, told me what needed to be done and how much it would be. Then they did the work fast. On top of that the guy was friendly and approachable, unlike other auto shops where the mechanics are not. I recommend this location. One of the best auto shops in the area. And they're honest. They won't tell you something needs fixing just to get more moolah out of you. more

I had my first 5k service at this location, and noticed my tire gauge light came back on couple days later I was in the area so I brought it back to have them check it, they found a small nail and said they could patch it and they didn't charge it. The manager here is very professional and kind. Great customer service you guys! I will be coming back for all my service needs thank you! more

I came in today to do a muffler installation. After I talked to the manager, they drove my car onto the ramp in a minute, and did the installation within 20 Minutes. Will recommend this place to everyone! more

I got my oil changed from Jiffy Lube they didn?t tighten the oil plug and lost all my oil on the highway. Meineke got me in fast filled my oil back up and cleaned under the car! Now Meineke for life more

I was having a timing belt replaced. When I got home, I noticed the hood was not closed all the way. When I tried to close it, I noticed the latch was bent and didn't work properly. When I called the shop to ask a couple questions, their response was that the latches on Volkswagens were a common problem and it must have been damaged when I brought it in. They refused to repair it. They said they could replace it and give me a fair price to do so. I didn't want to do it myself and figured they could get the part at a discount so, against my better judgement, I took it back to have the latch replaced. After they replace it with a new one, they still couldn't get the hood closed and told me it must be a defective hood. I had already paid them so they said they would order another latch and try again next week.\r I was angry so I left and took a look at it when I got home. All it needed was a minor adjustment and it closed just fine. This whole process took up a lot of my time and with the added time and expense for the hood latch, I didn't save any money going to Walt's. I have never experienced such poor service and seen such inept mechanics at any repair shop. If you're considering this shop for anything other than an oil change, remember that once they are under the hood, you are stuck with the results and are placing your car at risk. Don't let them ""Jack"" you like they did me. more

When I walked into Walt's Auto Care the new store manager greated me promptly and was guinenly concerned. He was the only person to ask me if I was ok after my accident. Walts fixed my brakes at an affordible cost and I have had no problems since. I will deffinetly be returning and having all of my vehicles serviced at the Holgate location. I've been taking my Honda to Walt's in SODO for about 5 years as my regular mechanic and have always been happy with their prices and quality of service. All that changed, however, on my last visit. After dropping my car off and getting it back promptly (2 days) with new struts (~$1k) I drove home and parked my vehicle for a couple weeks (I use METRO or walk 95% of the time). When I took my vehicle out on SR-520 to go on a roadtrip, the UNLATCHED HOOD flew up and hit my windshield while I was doing about 65mph. Luckily I was able to pull over and wrench it shut. The hood was turned inside out and had impacted and seriously cracked the windshield. The car was still drivable so after returning to Seattle a week later, I brought it back to Walt's and explained what happened and asked for them to repair the damage since they had NOT CHECKED IF MY HOOD WAS CLOSED PROPERLY when I left the shop. The manager Ray: 1. Kept my car for SIX days with no communication. When I called, he told me to wait another day for the insurance inspector to come. 2. Admitted no fault (though they HAD fixed the sticky spring on my hood latch I later noticed...to escape culpability, I assume). 3. Said that the insurance adjuster had told him the damage caused could not have happened the way I said (why would I make it up and HOW could I fake the damage to my hood, which had obviously blown open) 4. Insinuated I was a liar and told me to take my car and leave. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE of Walt's SODO. Unprofessional, poor customer service from the new manager who doesn't mind stiffing long-time customers who have paid thousands of $$$ to the shop over the years or admit fault to letting a vehicle leave their shop without checking it for safety. MECHANIC FAIL. I sent a letter to the main office outlining this complaint over a month ago. No reply. They lost a customer and I had to shell out several hundred dollars to repair the damage caused by the negligence of their mechanic. CORPORATE FAIL. Pros: Used to be great... Cons: rude manager, safety negligence, poor communication more
