Meineke Car Care Center

I want to file a complaint with Meineke Car Care Center AMHERST, NY.\r \r I have been a customer of this shop for more than four year,for all my vehicle repairs including NYS inspections.\r \r Today I had this shop do work on my 1996 Blazer. The charge was $402.24.\r \r My complaint is for the two new front Calipers they replaced and for Brake Fluid.\r \r I approved all other work on this vehicle with the exception of the above mentioned.\r \r I was never told, and I never approved, the replacement of the front calipers, at a cost of $69.99 each.\r \r I also did not get, or need, or approve, a charge of $29.95 for brake fluid. My system was NOT flushed. I was present and spoke to the mechanic (Anthony assisted by Tom) at the time my brakes were 'bleed of air' only.\r \r I told the manager Larry Cohen that I was upset with the cost. I paid for the full charge with my M&T Bank Card.\r \r I called Larry after I returned home to ask him to adjust the charge. He refused.\r \r I believe I have every right to more

Took car in for an oil change, and asked that air filter be inspected. Air filter was removed for inspection, but NEVER REPLACED!! I drove around for over three months with no air filter!! This was caught at my next oil change by another place. Went back to Meineke and explained the situation. Larry (the owner) admitted to removing the air filter but denied not replacing it and said maybe a friend of mine removed it. Was told I'd have to pay to have one put in. I then asked for the number for customer relations, but said I would pay for another filter. Because I wanted to contact customer relations I was DENIED SERVICE...because of their mistake!! But I realized I was okay with that because I really did not want Larry or any of his staff touching my car again!! more

I have been dealing with Meineke in Amherst for the last 5 years and I have been impressed with their friendly professional service. These guys really look out for the customer and really care about you and your car. They will tell you what is wrong with your car (they don't charge for inspections) and give you options on what has to be fixed now and what can wait. They saved me over $200 on a brake job over national competitors and gave me a better warranty. My girlfriend was told she needed a alternator and a battery at a garage next to her work for $500+. I told her to take it to Tom at Meineke to have a second opinion and he said all it needed was a battery for around a $100. that was a year ago and her original alternator is still working fine. If you are looking for a new mechanic check these guys out! more
