Memorable perfect engagement ring buying experience 6/26/2011

We have the most memorable, unique and special memories of picking out our engagement ring at Meierotto?s. Emily took the time to get to know me and my fiancée. She actively listened and brought out settings and diamonds that suited me and my taste. She caught the essence of my personality and values. It amazed me how she keyed into my likes and dislikes, getting to know me as a person and us as a couple. I ended up choosing a band setting that I never would have picked out for myself. Yet, when I put it on, my fiancée and I both said ?this is the one!? at the same time! The entire staff was helpful, warm and friendly. Emily is an excellent ambassador for their long standing family tradition of quality, customer service and facilitating wonderful memories for such a special time in our lives. Best Jewlery Store in Town 3/18/2011

Excellent Jewlery Store!!! My fiance gave me his great grandmothers ring so we were going just to have the prongs built up and purchase his ring. So even though we were not spending a fortune they treated us like gold. My fiance probably tried on at least 300 rings before picking the one he liked, they were so patient. They are always catering to your every need, they bring snacks around always have fresh brewed coffee and cider, and hey if you want a beer just ask, you get one! I was shocked to read other reviews with people having bad experience, we cant wait to go pick up his ring to enjoy them again! more

great place to do business 3/16/2011

Even though I live north of Sioux City, IA, 300+ miles from Meierotto,s, I have made at least 95% of my jewelry purchases from there since 1986. They have the lowest prices and the service has always been great. Carol always returns my phone calls and whenever I'm in the store she always takes the time to come over and visit. Since I am not what you'd call a big spender and I don't make frequent purchases, I have come to the conclusion that Carol is a genuinely good person that bends over backwards to keep her customers smiling. I know that I will continue to take my business there. more

Even though I reside in South Dakota, just north of Sioux City, IA, I do and have done probably 95% of my jewelry purchases since 1986, at Meierotto's. The prices have always been lower and I have found the service to be great whether it was Carol, one of her daughters, or just a regular employee. Carol always returns my phone calls and when I'm in the store she always takes time to come visit with me, even though I'm not what you'd call a big spender. I have found her to be a genuinely nice person that goes out of her way to keep satisfied customers. I know that I am going to continue to take my business there!!! more

More interested in the quantity of people they can move through the cash register vs. qualitiy of service. You get a number when you check in... and you feel like a number in the end. SEVERAL issues with service and repair... all of which came with excuses and price tags. Please go to someone who will treat you well AFTER you make a large purchase...not just when they are trying to get you to make the large purchase. more

More interested in the quantity of people they can move through the cash register vs. qualitiy of service. You get a number when you check in... and you feel like a number in the end. SEVERAL issues with service and repair... had to drive back several times. All encounters came with excuses, bad cust. service and price tags. Please go to someone who will treat you well AFTER you make a large purchase...not just when they are trying to get you to make the large purchase. Please read other reviews where people had issues... all very similar complaints. Not worth it!! more

DISAPPOINTED-Spent over $5,000 11/26/2010

Wanted a copy of receipt (lost origional), transaction happened several months ago...was told needed more information on date and amount as they only have transactions listed in sales receipt books without names of customers..just amount of purchase. Contacted by phone this time after getting bank info of date and amount..was told that they are unable to look the info up...will take too much time..."just cannot do it (giggle) sorry", So...I asked, " if anyone with a previous transaction wanted info/copy of transaction...they would be OUT OF LUCK" ..she said, "yes". Sometime in the future they would be going paperless..and I asked when...she had no answer.."wasn't sure" and again reminded me that there were,"customers waiting and could't help me". Transaction amounts with no names..(She looked into the computer found my name..but no info there either)....sad. more

I am not a jewelry expert, by any means, but when I called Meirottos (after a referral from a friend) I spoke to a very friendly, VERY informative associate. She walked me through the process, letting me know what to look for and what was important in buying an engagement ring. My now fiancee had given me some ideas of what she would like and I passed those on to Emily and she got us the PERFECT ring for us. \r \r After the purchase I got it appraised in town, for insurance purposes, and found that I had saved about 35% buying from Meirottos. When my brother was thinking of getting engaged I gave him Emily Meirotto's information and he bought from her as well.\r \r Thank you Emily! more

Deceiving sales, overpriced jewelry in a chaotic environment. Avoid the drive and unethical sales tactics and purchase your rings from a reputable jeweler-there are plenty of them in KC, however, this is not one of them. more

Sarah stands out far and above others I have encountered in the past--no brush off if you don't happen to spend four or five figures! She is definitely an asset to this business!! more

the worst customer service!!! 6/21/2010

I would like to summit a complaint about this horrible shop!.\r Meierotto's \r 4311 N.E. Vivion Road\r Kansas City 64119\r I was actually looking for an Omega watch for one of my relatives in Shanghai, China. Because they do not know which watch they want, so I looked at some watches online but I did not find any prices there. And according to Omega's official website, I found this dealership. I called them and tried to get prices for several watches . But the service offered by this dealer was atrocious! They were so rude and unprofessional!!! When I first called they said they would help and to just email them the item numbers that I would like more information on. I sent an email I admit that was looking for information on more than just a couple of items I was a list of about 15 that met the style they are interested in. They replied back asking me to narrow my selection down to 2-3 which would be hard without knowing the price ranges of the items. So I replied saying that I really nee more

We have been customers for years. We enjoy our visit every time. There is no need to go anywhere else for jewelry or watches or diamonds or anything jewelry related. Just stop by any time and the place is packed. They treat people fair and it shows by how busy the place is. Pros: good selection, good people, fair prices more

Never Again 7/29/2009

Early June I brought my Rolex watch in for routine service work. I have had my watches regularly serviced through a variety of service centers with great overall experiences. The experience at Meierotto's was anything but great. Upon arriving my wife and I entered the store without the courtesy of a greeting from anyone. Only after others who came in after us had been helped did we realize we HAD to have a number to be served. When we finally had an associate to assist us I explained that I wanted my watch serviced and the crystal replaced. I was given a price (one that was 20-25% HIGHER than I had paid at others shops) and told it would be ready in 4-6 weeks. The turn around time was in line but as previously stated the price was out of line. At exactly 6 weeks I received a call that informed me the price was goiing to be higher because they needed additional parts. I expressed my concern about pricing and that previous serving had been an all inclusive price....not an add on here or there. With the additional expense they wanted to charge me, I would have been paying almost twice what I had previously been accustomed to. Not only was I being gouged on pricing the person who called was extremely rude, talking down to me as if I were a pennyless bum. At this point I did not authorize any additional parts and requested my watch be returned as soon as possible. I was told it would be ready in one week. I called at the end of that week only to be told that it wouldn't be ready for an additional week. Again the rudeness, it was if they could care less if I were a customer or not. I asked to speak to someone besides the repair clerk and spoke with 'Carol' who identified herself as the owner only after I pressed her for her position within the organization. After speaking with her it was clear that her attitude is reflected by her staff. At one point she said to me that it seemed like I just wanted to vent. Clearly this business believes that there are an endless stream of customers just waiting to spend their hard earned dollars with them. If you are having your watches serviced....do your homework first...this is not the place for warm appreciative treatment. Cons: poor customer service, snooty atmosphere, too many to list more

I have been going to Meierotto's for years. It is were my father has gotten all of the jewelry he's given to me, and now so does my husband! They have such wide selection of everything you could imagine from watches to baby gifts. The service is always wonderful, they take their time so I never feel rushed. I get the salesperson's undivided attention so I aways get exactly what I'm looking for. Most recently I have gotten my engagement and wedding bands from Meierotto's. I was amazed at what a beautiful diamond ring I got for such a great deal! I would highly recommend Meierorro's to anyone, they make jewelry shopping fun and easy! more
