When we went to Dr. Mecum, we were nervous, scared, and desperate for hope and Dr. Mecum's help. I'm sure he is a good doctor, but his irritability and impatience with us was disrespectful and humiliating. I understand he is a busy person, but so are we, and we waited a long time to see him. There is simply no reason for a doctor to treat his patients like that. more

I am very excited to recommend Dr. Robert Mecum & his office staff to patients needed. I just finished my successful colon surgery and feel so strongly to thank and recommend Dr. Mecum and his staff as I did have such a wonderful experience with them. \r \r After I learned that I need a colon surgery, my family doctor was trying to refer me to their network doctors. I am so afraid to be a ""commodity"" to only benefit to the primary doctor. I decided to do some homework and search a good doctor for my surgery. After a thorough search and interviews, I was referred by my friend to Dr. Mecum. His office manager was very friendly and professionally to talk to. She understands that I am very busy, so she always prepares well when she talks to me. She not only worked and solved my insurance issues, but also quickly arranged the office visits, lab works and surgery appointment at the hospital. \r \r At every steps (office visits, lab works, surgery preparation & at hospital …etc), his office manager even called several times to remind me and see if I have any problems about the procedures. Since this is very new to me, I called numerous times to talk to Dr. Mecum and his staff. They are very prompt answered my questions and eased my nervousness. Dr. Mecum is so patient with me and makes me fell like I were his only patient (of course, I do know he has many patients). His patiently explanations (to the level that I could understand), both before and after the surgery, professionalism, kindness and care make my life be much more healthy and joyful again! I am writing this review to confirm what I have already read. I actually mentioned to Dr. Mecum about other online reviews. When speaking about other physician, his response was you can have a patient angry about a Co Pay and they will give a bad review. The review above my review speaks about the office manager. Dr. Mecum is unethical and rude. He withheld procedures and treatment in my case causing me to end up in the hospital with irreversible damage that could have been prevented. I can't recommend Dr. Mecum because of his office manager. When I was seeing the doctor on a regular basis his office mgr got my appointments messed up, phone numbers, paperwork, everything! She would get me so confused with the wrong info that I would hate to go into his office. Whenever I questioned her she would get real rude and fight with me. I tried leaving messages for the doctor but he never got them. Dr. Mecums office has owed me $75.00 for the past 7 months because Bright Medical Associates demanded I pay for an office visit when I shouldn't have. They claimed I was uninsured but I wasn't. Now BlueCross and Bright Medical agree that the money is owed me, but this office mgr won't cut the check. When I called her she wanted to fight with me and refused again to send me a check. Now I have to write letters and make phone calls and try to get my money.......this is nuts (and so is the office mgr). Pros: N/A Cons: N/A more
