Mccoy's Lawn Equipment

If you're a homeowner never, ever buy lawn equipment from this company if you have reasonable expectations for service after the sale... I purchased a $1500.00 riding lawn mower from these clowns and have taken it in for service on two different occasions over the past 3-years and now realize that the only people who receive timely service are those with commercial accounts... If they tell you they will have something repaired in 7-to 10 days, you can count on 4 to 6 weeks and if they tell you 3-weeks, you might as well be prepared to buy another mower or pay someone to cut your lawn for you.. The last time (and I mean that literally) I took my mower, I was told that repairs would be completed in 7 to 10 days, and I was pleasantly surprised to see only a handful of mowers in their yard waiting to be repaired.. After calling them repeatedly after two weeks, I drove to their shop at the end of the third week to see what was going on, and you guessed it; their yard now had close to a hundred residential type mowers lawn mowers in it, mine was still sitting where it was unloaded and their mechanics were busily working on commercial mowers... I understand why a company might be prone to giving their commercial customer's preferential treatment except for one thing; my money is just as green as as the next guy's is.... Never waste your hard-earned money buying lawn equipment from these guys.... more

I took 3 pieces of equipment into this company for service ... a lawn mower, weed wacker, and leaf blower. They did a decent job in the lawn mower tune-up (although it was astonomically expensive), but here is the results on the weed wacker and the leaf blower: more

I was extemely happy at the service I received from Jay at McCoys Lawn Equipment. He took quite a bit of time reviewing the different brands he had along with what would fit my needs and use. He sold me a unit he did not even have in stock where as most people will sell you what is in front of you to make the deal. I received my product in just a few days and another person in his staff even assembled it for me before I left. I also purchased some parts for my weadeater and blades for my mower. They were competitively priced and did not try to bend me over as M & C equipment in Brenham did. M & C tried to charge me nearly double as what McCoys did. I would higly recommend McCoys for your lawn needs. I work in parts sales and it is nice to be treated well when you go some where. more

I bought a lawn mower blade from these guys and attached it, a few minutes into running the mower, the blade had started spinning on the mount, destroying it. I was mad. I went in and told them their blade had destroyed my mounting hub. They told me it had not but that they would replace it anyhow. They didn't have any in stock at either store. Jay called another lawn mower place to track down a hub for me and bought it it so I could get the item. As soon as I looked at the new hub I realized mine had lost two raised bumps on it that kept the blade from spining. The hub had gone bad. I am going to go back and pay for the hub, but also wanted to thank the staff at McCoys for helping me out, even when it wasn't their product at fault. I was in there shop for over 20 minutes and no one approached me to see how I was doing, or ask if I needed any help. These guys are not friendly to a normal person. Seems like they only work with landscapers. Pros: Location Cons: customer service, no help, rude people. more
