Tasty Indian food and Friendly Service 3/30/2012

Although the place is small they have a section with booths which is nice for kids. We enjoyed the Tandoori and Curries. The staff was friendly towards our 2 year old who made a mess and they didn't seem phased by it. more

Bobble Bobble 2/26/2009

Love the food. All you can eat, and I love all the different curries and especially their desserts. Today though, the tendori chicken was raw. I gotta say, most people use the plates, but I actually really like to use their metal serving dish that has areas carved out to place sauces, curries and naan/rice. When I went to India, this is how people there ate at their cafeteria. It gets busy during lunch hour so I recommend people to go little bit before 12. It's very filling so make sure you are hungry! more

Great Food! 2/17/2009

My family and I love this place. Their Dhosa is the best we have had in Washington and I highly recommend the Okra Masala. We have never done the buffet but the dinner dishes are always great. more

Lots of food - very tasty! 2/3/2009

I can't say that I'm an expert on Indian Cuisine but I thought the food was really tasty. I went with a friend for dinner and we ordered one "a la carte" meal that comes just with rice, and another full entree meal (forgot the name they give for it ) which comes with little side dishes, naan, rice and dessert. there was a lot of food for both of us and i really enjoyed it. We went on a Friday evneing around 6pm and it was not yet packed. By the time we were finished though, there was a small line up so this place is quite popular. more

Mayuri does brisk lunch business for good reason 6/1/2006

If you don't arrive at Mayuri at 11 on the dot, be prepared to stand in a long line while you wait to snatch up goodies at the buffet. It's enough to make you want to get back in line while still spooning up lunch just so you don't ever have to face a clean plate while you're still hungry. Mayuri has standard Indian buffet fare: tandoori chicken (chicken cooked in a clay oven, has a distinctive red color), vegetable pakoras (battered and fried vegetable goodness), several veggie and chicken curries and kormas (stew-type dishes), daal (lentil stew), channa masala (chickpea stew), saag paneer (spinach with indian cheese) naan, basmati rice, raita (yogurt-cucumber dip), and the standard kheer dessert (rice pudding). The dishes change up a little bit, but you'll always have plenty to eat. I always leave this place full to bursting. At dinner, you can cobble together your own "buffet" of sorts by ordering the thali dinner. I like having the samosa and pappadams (fried crisps) with their deliciously tart and sweet chutneys at dinner. Their mango lassis aren't always cold, but their tea is always hot and steamy. more

Mayuri Indian Cuisine: Bellevue's Best Southern Indian Cuisine 5/30/2006

I prefer Northern Indian cuisine to Southern. But I prefer it to Udupi Palace and though there are striking similarities Mayuri http://www.mayuriseattle.com/ is definitely the more upscale place, at least by appearance not just statues and wall hangings, but in comfort as well. Perhaps this is appropriate for a place with a name that means "peacock". I found more items on their buffet to my liking, and they seem to restock it more often than their apparent competitor. more

Great Indian Food 4/11/2006

Mayuri is my family's favorite Indian restaurant on the Eastside (they have another location in Queen Anne in Seattle as well). Their lunch buffet is a hit for many around the area as you are likely to find long lines whenever you go during the week. Their food truly yummy - try Saag Paneer fro a vegetarian treat, or Chicken or Lamb Tikka Masala as their Tikka Masalas are really out of this world. At dinner time they have a rather nice atmosphere - a couple times when we have dined in on weekends they even had live music. A must try in the least! more

overrated 4/8/2006

I think the food at Mayuri's is terrible, especially the buffet. I cant understand why it is so crowded for lunch. Most of the dishes taste the same and lack the consistency from day to day, except for the greasiness. The dinner menu is ok. I think it is overrated more

Mayuri Indian Cuisine 4/1/2006

Mayuri Indian restaurant is located in the complex which also houses Trader Joe's and Longs Drugs. I love their lunch buffet. I stock up and overstuff myself on the chicken makhani, naan and tandoori chicken. Then to really overdo it, I enjoy a nice bowl of fermi (like rice pudding). The service here is good and the restaurant is clean. They attract a lot of business from Microsoft and the surrounding companies. Parking can be a little tight but there's usually spots to be found. Definitely worth a long lunch. more

Wow! Awesome lunch buffet, lot of varieties 11/27/2005

This place is the hot fav. for Microsoft and other close by employees! The buffet (starts around 11:00 and goes until 2:00) is very good. They have on an average 5 veg. dishes and 3 non. veg. dishes, fresh Naan, couple of types of rice, etc. The part I really like is how it fits the budget - 6-7$ for the lunch buffet!! The only drawback (like some of the other Indian buffet places) is that they don't rotate the dishes very well, i.e. some of them of repeated often times, in the same week. But since they have quite a few dishes, it's nice. Also, their dinner menu is very nice, you order anything from south-Indian to north-Indian dishes, prices for all are very reasonable. The place is also very well decorated and seating is plenty (good for a large party or birthdays). more

Great for lunch 10/7/2005

Nice staff, good vegetarian selection. Their lunch boxes are great! The food is very good, although occasionally there is a dish I don't like much. more

chaat and bollywood 9/27/2005

Mayuri is the best place in the Seattle area to get chaat. They also have a huge selection of hindi movies on DVD or VHS. The deli has all kinds of delicious chaat, samosas, bhel puri, pani puri as well as fresh chapati and a huge counter full of sweets. The jelebis are great. They also make cakes to order, and a few Indian desserts that I haven't found anywhere else in the area. more

Good Indian food 9/15/2005

Although not the best Indian food place out there, it’s among the top for locations in Bellevue. The Nan is good, especially the spinach nan, and the fact that they are in the Entertainment Book is a bonus as well (that’s how I first discovered this place). The flavors are full in their curries and their mango drinks are also quite good. more

Good Dhosa... 8/13/2005

I visited this place 3 times in 6 months of period and i found that only good thing to eat is Dhosa a south Indian dish. Rest food was ok not that great. Good service and nice atmosphere but i think we look for food in a restaurant.... more

East Side - Indian Cuisine 7/26/2005

Mayuri is a reliable restaurant where the food is pretty good and also the price tag is reasonable. Their buffet is good with a variety of dishes which are not commonly found in other Indian restaurants. Sometimes the wait is too long which can be disappointing. Their sambhar is awesome. Sambhar is a lentil soup with spices and vegetables. more

Ma yuri Indian Cuisine 7/23/2005

A highly recommended restaurant in the S Indian mold, (although it also has N Indian food such as buttery curries ala butter chicken). The lunch buffets are the excellent, and the Tandoori chicken is the best in the Seattle area. The price is bit more expensive than most buffets, running at 7.95, but the selection is outstanding, cleary a greater range of dishes than most buffets making the extra pennys worth it. more
