I was HIGHLY disappointed in this restaurant's food. I'm very familiar with this kind of food, but this place let me down. Matitos had been recommended to me by numerous people, but when we went and I ordered the light fajitas (that come with broccoli and cauliflower instead of onions and green peppers) the fajita steak was overcooked and the whole meal was bland. The fajita meat and broccoli tasted more like Chinese food beef and broccoli than anything Tex-Mex. The meat was rubbery and borderline inedible. I came into the restaurant very hungry, but the food was so bad that I couldn't even eat 1/3 of my meal. The most ""seasoning"" that was on my plate was spicy jalapeno in my pico de gallo (I like spicy food, but that's all there was to the meal!). My boyfriend got tacos, which were under-seasoned and bland as well. His refried beans tasted worse than ""El Paso"" canned beans. He remarked, ""This tastes like cafeteria food"" which was right on the money. However, the service was very good, and our waiter was nice and helpful. The margaritas are also very good. When I told the waiter about my disappointment with my meal when he asked how everything was, he took it off of the check when I didn't even ask him to, which I thought was appropriate. Overall, I would commend this restaurant on its service and lively atmosphere, but if you want a good meal, you're better off going somewhere else.
Pros: Good service
Cons: NASTY food
