Matteo's Pizzeria

We ordered pizza last night online from their website for our 3 children and after waiting for a little over an hour contacted them to check the status. The owner (Peter) let us know that they had the wrong address (they didn't even look at the order) and was going to be sending them. After an additional 45 minutes we contacted them again and Peter said that the delivery driver was having cell phone issues and wasn't able to be contacted??? We contacted them a 3rd time after more than 2 hours (check out their delivery philosophy on their site) and Peter informed us that we were outside of their delivery area and they had ""exhausted too much energy"" into this delivery and we would not be recieving our order (which is still posted to our checking account). Please do yourself a favor and order from one of the many other pizza places in Franklin/Brentwood. Obviously this place doesn't stand behind thier ""philosophy"". more

Having celiac for 10 years has caused me to miss out on lots of yummy pizza:( But thanks to Matteo's they offer a great gluten free pizza that I can enjoy while my gluten eating friends enjoy their pizza.. Lots of gluten free pizza's taste like cardboard but this one could pass the test for a ""regular"" pizza!! more

We have been thrilled since we found Matteo's gluten-free pizza! Now my son can have a great pizza that is tasty and crunchy. We try to keep some in the freezer for last minute parties and quick dinners. Thank you Matteo's for being innovative and creating a delicious gluten free pizza. more

I was diagnosed with Celiac disease 4 1/2 years ago. One of the foods I missed eating most after my diagnoses was pizza. Then, just a few months later, a friend sent us the news of Matteo's gluten free pizzas! What an incredible blessing they have been!! I have one of their gluten-free pizzas almost every Friday night. They are fabulous! I especially enjoy their barbecued chicken pizza. Delicious!! more

Diagnosed with celiac disease. No more pizza - a crushing blow :-( . I tried the frozen gluten free crusts from the grocery store but they just didn't have the punch of a pizza parlor pizza. I just gave up. My doctor recommended Matteo's. more

I had always heard about Matteo's awesome pizza. Then I heard that they started making gluten-free pizza and we had to try it out. My husband has celiac disease, and we had literally been trying to go to NYC every year to get his pizza fix. No other gluten-free pizza was living up. Then we tried Matteos, and it's even BETTER than what we could get in NYC. Now we just have the short drive from Murfreesboro to Franklin to get pizza. I sometimes order the gluten-free because it's REALLY good. But I've also had the ""normal"" pizza, which is stellar. And as a bonus they also have gluten-free treats, and we do sometimes finish off dinner with a cupcake. What could be better?!? more

The service is wonderful. The texture of the pizza is amazing! Soft, but not too soft. And not gritty like some of the gluten-free pizza crusts we've had. We had the meat pizza. The toppings were fresh and cooked to perfection! My son is the one who has to eat gluten-free, not me, but I do anyways when I am with him. I would order this pizza by myself over any gluten pizza, that's how much we enjoyed it! My 12 year old, well, let's just say, he wanted to move in! more

After tasting Matteo's Pizza for the first time a few months ago, it is by far my favorite and it is gluten free! We work right down the street in Cool Springs and people at the office order from here all the time. I look forward to it every time! I would highly recommend this place! more

when i am in the mood for pizza, Matteo's is the ONLY place i go! it can be so hard to find truly great pizza, especially if you are new in town. but i got lucky and was recommended to try Matteo's by a co-worker. i will literally drive out of my way or from Nashville to Brentwood JUST to get their pizza, it is THAT delicious! i also want to mention Matteo's gluten free pizza, because it is simply amazing! there is no other place to get the quality you will find at Matteo's, and their prices are also very reasonable, so you just can't beat it! i am forever a loyal Matteo's customer! :) more

I have been driving from Green Hills to Franklin (1st The Factory, now Cool Springs) JUST to pick up Matteo's pizza for years. When they first opened, the owner gave me a sample of the cheese they use, and it was clear from the taste and texture that they weren't using standard pizza place ingredients. I am never disappointed (other than when I discovered that they no longer open on Sunday, but I do understand the need for rest and recovery, of course) -the food is ALWAYS excellent, and the service could not be better. I also like the fact that Matteo's is family-owned and opereated. You will usually be met by father or son - hi Matt - and they go out of their way to provide quality service and products. They also employ local teens, which is nice. Much like Lee's Apothecary, also a locallly-owned business in WIlliamson County, did when I was in high school in the 80's. Even though the present-day Cool Springs area, with its innumerable strip malls, SUV's, etc., looks NOTHING like it did in my adolescent days, Matteo's maintains the small town attitude that I loved when growing up in Brentwood. I love Matteo's (!), and I am happy to make the almost-weekly drive to pick up one of my favorite meals. Admittedly I normally go for the ""cheap stuff"" thinking...ehhh...pizza is pizza. Well I was pleasantly surprised when eating at Matteos. I could actually taste the difference between this pizza and some of the 'buffet quality' stuff I usually go for. Best of all, the pizza's I've bought at Matteos were comparably priced to Papa Johns and Pizza Hut, yet clearly tasted better. I could tell the ingredients were completely fresh and healthier than what one would normally get at a buffet or pizza chain. The crust is completely amazing and unique. Pros: Incredible ingredients, friendly staff and service, good value, very fresh and healthy Cons: small interior to the restaurant, but hey...pizza is meant for pickup or delivery anyway! more

I am staying at a local Brentwood hotel tonight, and after 10 hours traveling, my two kids wanted pizza, but I didn't have a car at my disposal, so I thought delivery would be great. I found Matteo's on the internet and it sounded good since it wasn't a chain. Their whole site encouraged online ordering, so I thought I'd go ahead and do it. I filled out all the forms, gave my credit card number, got an on-line receipt and was promised a 45-minute wait. I had also checked before ordering, and their site said they were open until 8:30 on Sunday...perfect...it was only 6:45 when I ordered. Cons: Not open when advertised, no phone message, flawed on-line ordering. more

I have lived in Nashville most of my life and recently I discovered Matteo's off of Carouthers. Not only is the food excellent, but it is family owned and operated and posses that personal touch that chains cannot duplicate. I have never been disappointed. Their ingredients are far superior to the chains. They also offer catering, and I must say, the lasagna is excellent. If you work in the area, I highly recomment this cost effective alternative. YUM! We live down the street from this pizza place and tried it out of the blue. WOW! It is absolutely delicious. Definitely better than any delivery chain, and I love the crust (kind of a cross between thin and regular crust) and the square slices. And although we have not tried it, they serve gluten-free pizza! I can't wait to tell my sister-in -law and niece the next time they are in town, because they have celiac disease and cannot eat gluten. I am waiting for my Friday night delivery right now... Yummy! Matteo's second location is just as good as it's first. The pizza is consistently wonderful just like the original location at the Factory at Franklin. We can find no better family food value than what Matteo's is producing.
