After a few horrible dress-shopping experiences, I was thrilled to find Marilyn at Matina's - unlike the time-wasters at other shops, she listened to me, helped me select 8 fantastic dresses to try on (they all flattered me and were exactly what I wanted, style-wise), and (along with Lilly and the others) suggested dynamite accessories/hairstyles. I owe them credit for my complete wedding look, which I loved. HOWEVER, in the last few days they really let me down. First, they did a regular bustle instead of French, as we had agreed (ok, my fault for not noticing DURING the final fitting, instead waking up in a fit at 4 am the day before the wedding, having realized the bustle had been wrong!) I could not get hold of them all that day, and finally on Saturday (wedding day) they agreed to change the bustle. However, since I was already downtown and could not come back to try it on again, they did it on a mannequin and made it too long (kept stepping on it while dancing!) The thing that really irked me, though, was the fact that they were extremely rude both to the friend who picked up the dress the day of, and my mother several times in connection with her attempts to use their cleaning/preservation service afterwards. It seems like once they had collected the final payment, the outstanding service trailed off. I still am so thankful for their input and my entourage always had fun there during the selection and fitting process, but the rudeness at the end left a really sour taste in my mouth.
