I met an old friend for dinner last night at this charming restaurant- Massimo. Beautiful flowers, romantic red walls, and incrediably attractive and warm staff. Now- let's not forget the mouth-watering food. Homemade lasagne and gnocchi- it was great time and a wonderful meal as well. I will come to Massimo everytime in town. more

I was running around like a mad woman today- decided to stop and grab a quick bite to refuel. I had Massimo's Burrata LA- a tomato salad with creamy burrata cheese (almost as creamy as butter) with a huge glass of homemade lemonade. Its must when in the Beverly Hills area. more

My wife and I look for a new restaurant to eat at every Sunday. We just happened to pass by Massimo...with it's festive white cafe lights my wife had to go in. We we're pleasantly surprised by how authentic and mouth watering the food was. You must try the gnocchi de zucca...it's like eatting the fall season! (so warm and comforting) more

I rarely take time in my busy schedule to write reviews but I felt compelled to. I go to Massimo's at least twice a month and this year my wife and I decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary there...it was perfect! We had the special Prawns and homemade Lasagne and finished with a panna cotta made from Heaven. The service was attentive and treated us very special. Thanks again and again! Pros: A perfect 10 all around...great food, great staff, great place! more

I am a busniess woman who travels a lot to LA. I always pray that I will stumble on some great eatery. Well, I did...Massimo Ristorante was fabulous! The food was so rich and full of flavor. I started with a homemade broccoli puree and it was so creamy but with no cream. Can you believe it? I had his speciality Penne Bologenese and it was wonderful! I will definitly be making this a part of my inteneray when in LA. Pros: Food was fresh and extremely flavorful! more

I shop a lot in Beverly Hills but I rarely find myself on Little Santa Monica. But today I luckly stumpled upon Cafe Massimo. What a charming and cozy cafe...fresh flowers to die for and gourgeous red walls everywhere. What a great and warm color- beautiful place. I had a delicious artichoke salad with a homemade balsamic vingeratte served with a vaerity of warm breads and a fabulous chardonay. Next time you are shopping in the area go down Rodeo to Little Santa Monica and stop into Massimo cafe you will not be disappointed! Pros: Charming and food was so fresh! more

This place is great. We stumbled upon it one night and now it's one of our favorite dinner spots. The food is great, there isn't a dish on the menu that I wouldn't recommend. The baby veal shank is so tender it melts in your mouth, and the gnocchi are really delicate and don't way you down. A bunch of great salads (try the radicchio ceasar salad, it is so good!) too. The service is always great and the hostess always does her best to accomodate everyone, no matter who you are (it is a good spot for celeb sighting). A must if you are in the Beverly Hills area!! Pros: food, service, ambience more

Massimo cuisine was rich in flavor and presentation, our eyes could not help but stare at all of the different dishes that were being brought out. Everything smelled so delicious. It's ambiance was perfect for a couple like ourselves even groups of friends and family. The servers were very quick to respond to any of our needs. The pear salad, juicy rack of lamb and clam dish was really to die for. It was a perfect excuse for us to dine out in Beverly Hills. Our visit in California was completed by great meals at Massimo's, moreover what every tourist looks foward to a celeberty sighting, we saw Nicolette Scheraton and Michael Bolton, that was fun, we had people magazine right there!I really recomend it, the only bad thing about the restaurant was not being able to taste everything. Pros: Great FOOD, Great Service, Nice Location Cons: Bigger Bar more

The restaurant was packed when we arrived but it's a good sign. Service was extraordinary and that could make the whole dining experience so different. Food was also outstanding. My boyfriend and I went to Massimo a couple of nights ago and had a fabulous time! First of all, the food was amazing...My boyfriend is a vegetarian, so we were pleased to discover a variety of tasty options for him; between the two of us, we tried the artichoke salad, the asparagus appetizer (with heavenly fontina cheese), the spinach gnocchi, and spaghetti with lentils--wow! For dessert, we shared their fondent chocolate cake--I don't think I've ever had a better chocolate taste in my mouth! We also enjoyed the romantic, candle-lit ambiance, and our waitress was charming. more

If you want to go for a romantic dinner in a superb Italian restaurant head for Beverly Hills instead of Europe. We absolutely loved the food! Massimo somehow manages to combine a romantic setting, great service and best of all dishes that are so good that my mouth waters just thinking about them. Their pastas are always tasty, al dente and the ingredients fresh. (Portions are generous too!) Have been there several times. I travel a great deal and feel comfortable to say that it is at the top of my 10 favorite restaurants in the world list. Pros: Delicious, Romantic, Great Staff more

I've just been traveling through Tuscany and had to stop in LA for business for a few days before returning home to NYC. After my trip I was really craving some authentic Italian food. Fortunately I remember Massimo restaurant in BH. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with warmth and friendliness-not always experienced in BH! The antipasti toscani was mouthwatering, with high quality prosciutto, fresh burrata cheese and a blend of olives and mini artichokes. Everything that follow was the same caliber. The gnocchi verdi (or "gnudi" as they call them in florence) it's always outstanding. I was with a group of friends and we were practically licking our plates. After all my travels I feel I'm an expert of Italian food, and trust me this is as good as if I was in Italy. Pros: Authenticity, quality food Cons: I wish it was in NYC more

We had brunch on Sunday twice in a row. Fantastic service and we loved their risotto. Prices were very reasonable for the area. We'll certainly come back to try the rest of their menu next time we're in town. more

delicious sauces! 9/4/2004

The penne with meat sauce and mushrooms is absolutely delicious. They cook the penne "al dente," i.e. just chewy enough and the sauce is some of the best I've ever had. The caesar salad is awesome too, it's done with red lettuce and it's a great way to start the meal. If you want to have a great meal in an upscale but casual environment while you're shopping in Rode Drive, this is one of the best places! more
