I love my doctors at Hawthorne. They delivered my first child, who was premature, and took great care of me during my pregnancy and delivery and complications I had afterwards.\r

The only thing I would complain about is their choice in collection agencies. When we ended up with 23 separate medical bills resulting from each family member visiting the hospital within one month's time, it was difficult to keep track of it all and Hawthorne's bill fell through the cracks. We, who otherwise have excellent credit, were referred to the collection agency of Hawthorne's choice. That agency treated me absolutely horribly, and I will never forget the disgrace I felt in communicating with them, which was my first experience and hopefully my last with any collection agency. In my opinion, that agency is a poor choice, on Hawthorne's part, of companies to partner with, when they have such good patient care in their medical office.\r

One business practice is, to me, unbelievable. Hawthorne's billing staff explained to me that they would refuse to see me until my bill was paid off in full. That, coupled with the loss of dignity in communications with their collection agency, has resulted in a bad taste in my mouth for Hawthorne.\r

It is only due to my faith in my Ob/Gyn and the nursing staff at Hawthorne that I choose to return there now that that silly little bill is paid off.
Pros: Wonderful, caring doctors
Cons: Poor billing practices
