Marta's Vineyard Canine Resort

I agree with all the negative feedback written by many users on MV Kennel. Im a new dog owner and boarded my puppy there a month ago- mainly based on the recommendation of a coworker who was initially happy with the experience until she asked to see the facilities where her puppy was to be boarded on a second occasion: she was given some non sensical response.\r \r My own experience was worse in the sense that during the first and last four day stay of my dog he lost weight, was terrified and very happy that I got him out of MV's "care".\r \r I also agree that the staff is nice on the surface but I encourage anyone to ask the hard questions before you consider this place. \r As of today- I'm still looking for a reputable and professional place where I can take my 10months old pup.\r \r XZ. more

Don't listen to these people, our dog has boarded at the vineyard and has been going to doggy daycare for over a year, the staff is great, my dog loves it doesn't want to leave. I have never had a doubt in my mind that they aren't doing a great job. more

Marta's is a total joke. They say they provide the extra's but they really don't and they treat the dogs poorly. They are more concerned with their appearances and making $. They try to up-sell every customer when they arrive by adding a bath or TV or silly stuff. Instead they should be more concerned with everything else that goes on. For the amount you pay to have your dog or dogs here you can have someone come into your house or try one of the other doggie facilities around. more

The exact same experience happened with us! After boarding our dog for YEARS- Kerry pulled this same crap on us- leaving us to hunt for a kennel last minute. She also came back at us making claims that our dog barked too much. Well- why did they write happy faces on his "report card" all these years saying he is a very happy talkative dog?! We would purchase all of the extra hugs & kisses & grooming- a lot of money. Kerry is not the same Kerry we experienced in our early years of boarding him. We will NEVER be back & NEVER recommend this place to anyone. more

What an unprofessional run business. A real shame. My husband and I planned our pre-honeymoon ( by pre-honey moon, I mean we are both working long hours and haven't found our time yet for a real long vacation!) in NYC a few weeks back. I called Marta's Vineyard Kennel in Brookfield, CT a few weeks ago to make sure they had space for our two dogs, an eight month old Cock-a-poo and our 1.5 year old Newfoundland bear (ok, he's a dog and gentle like a lamb, but as big as a bear!). The woman on the phone couldn't have been nicer. We had boarded our dogs and cat there once before and had no complaints. She informed me that she would charge us a one night deposit and send us the receipt (never got it, but we didn't care anyway since we would be getting the receipt when we dropped them off and picked them up again).\r \r So I call the the NYC hotel and book a romantic getaway weekend, complete with play tickets (for me!) and Saturday night, football tickets (for my husband!) to complete our week more
